  1. You make it sound like every Falcon is going to be scrapped the day Ford shut the doors. Tuning will continue on regardless until there are no cars to tune.
  2. Why not just turn it into a family forum about having babies, breast feeding for the novice, and how to handle those restless nights??? We could call it www.family.com.au
  3. If it doesnt have a DPF, what does it have for emissions?
  4. Hey, we all do it(well, I do anyway) You live at Murray Bridge Ben? How long you been there? Have a very good mate there.
  5. I dont think Paulie wanted pics of the engine :sungum: I dont think you can buy a BA/BF short/long from Ford anymore. All most likely are FG. My long was ordered as a BA/BF F6 long, came as an FG with sump and dipstick in the correct position. RH engine mount had to be slightly modded. I didnt do the job myself, so dont have exact details.
  6. A play with what?? Ooh, the ute. :sungum:
  7. Eer, it was meant as a joke
  8. This is why Chinese can buy a new car every year. Costs $600
  9. Did you get a new long? What sort of price do they want these days? When I did mine, I put all new hoses, belts, radiator, rebuilt turbo, injectors cleaned etc. Hoses mainly because of the F6 engine oil cooler, and not that expensive anyway. Ended up getting the trans rebuilt as well, as it started to slip. All good now.
  10. This is old hat fellas. FG short has been done to death on here over the years. I bought a new long F6 motor from Ford for my BA, and it has an FG bottom end on it. Ford obviously use the FG bottom on all new engines now.
  11. helbz, I am not a fan of the carbon tax, and over the top electricity prices either, but the car industry has been in damage mode for a lot longer than the Rangas carbon tax. Our small market, and higher wages dont help the problem either. 22,000,000 people compared with the US at 350,000,000, and lower US wages, makes our products expensive, and theres cheaper. Volumes of sales keep prices down to a point. And weather you agree or not, unions in this country only do favors for them selves.
  12. Not related to the later Falcons, but had an issue years ago with a 1 ton Falcon van. It sagged with 300kg in it. Ford didnt want to know about it, we ended up getting our local spring maker to beef up the rear springs to suit. If you want to cart a "genuine" 1 ton, only vehicles are US F trucks, Chevs, and Dodge Rams IMHO.
  13. It will be interesting to see if any car builders return to Australia in the future. An article in the news a couple of weeks ago made me wonder on a few things. A company that used to manufacture in China has now come back to Australia(Riverland area, SA) and opend up there. Reason being, getting too expensive to operate in China. I have said for a while, once the Chinese, and any other Asian country, get a taste of the Western world mod cons(Maccas, Plasmas etc, etc.) they wont work for nothing, and then their wages will be expected to go up to buy these luxuries. Bingo, back to Australia everything will come, because we will be the "new" 3rd world country.
  14. I think the only saving grace for Expensive Daewoo at the moment is the US market. With the police force using the Statesmans, and the new Chev SS being a VF. Take that away in a couple of years(if it happens), and GMH will join Ford on the scrap heap.
  15. Most of you missed the point. We as Australians have commited suicide by demanding higher wages( thru our useless unions), which in turn puts up all costs in real life. Wages go up, food goes up, parts go up, cars go up, then everyone wants more money again to buy those things that we have forced up, and the wheel turns around again, and again. Certainly feel sorry for anyone who looses their job thru these tough times, but I bet the unions dont put up their hands, and take some of the blame.

    No More F6 Ute?

One would say, not good. And, I think Expensive Daewoo wont be far behind.

    No More F6 Ute?

Not doing an anti Ford prod here( I like my turbo ute), but the current Falcon ute is still an AU base. that's a 14 year old design. Still using a seperate tray to the cab. Maybe great for the tradies to wack on a tray, but not the sportiest design going. Leaf spring rear suspension went out with the horse and cart. Weather you like the Late model camira ute or not, its one piece construction, and IRS rear end, give it a more modern look, and decent ride and handling to boot. Not to mention quieter than the noisy Falcon ute(cab noise) Only my take on things. I have had 2 BA utes, and never had a Commy ute, so no real bias.
  18. Yeah, VL Walky replica. I suppose you blokes think the black GT with red mirrors etc looks horn?? NOT!!!
  19. Yep, they were standard fitment on the HDT VE.
  20. Am I missing something here? Bar having a stiff neck from trying to see the "sideon" pic, whats the problem?
  21. et+mph is OK if you want to drag race. Seat of the pants feel for road use. Or the amount of rubber you leave behind :sungum:
  22. Why dont you think you will need valve springs? Good insurance. Does the timing chain need looking at like a timing belt? Heard of a few lately breaking.
  23. What did you expect to find, a Ford badge for the US market??
  24. Not having a poke at Bruce, or his dyno, but have had same car pull 30rwkw less on a Mainline than on Bruces. What sort were they using??
  25. Thanks JET, appreciate the support. :sungum:
