  1. I've for an 09 FG, I have the same 'Clunk'. I have had my tailshaft coupling and bushes replaced, as it was a getting a clunk at certain revs, but it may be my driving. The sound has returned since. The guy at ford told me that it is a known issue with the bushes wearing out. They can put in harder ones, but then it will affect the drive.
  2. No worries bud, the handling has been heaps better. I bought the car with noisy 20's on it, got this set with Kuhmo's and I've never been happier.
  3. Hey guys, This is my xr with 20x8.5 and 20x10 (275s) at the rear. I've got it lowered on SSL's, I did have issues with scrubbing at 1st, then we shaved 3.5mm off the offset, which solved the scrubbing. Not sure what the offset is exactly, but I went for a few drives with a full car and have no issues with scrubbing. Not to mention, there was a noticeable difference in the handing.
  4. Sorry for the late reply. I got the 20x10's fitted on the rear with SSL's. I did have issues with scrubbing when it came under load. We got rid of this by machining the inside of the wheels 3mm. There is stuff all room, but it does not scrub with a full car / boot; so I'm happy.
  5. I am also running 20x10, 275/30/20 at the rear with SSL springs. I had issues with scrubbing, more so to the right. I had the inside of the wheel shaved 2mm and now have no issues, even with a full car. No guard rolling needed
  6. I went to a tyre joint last week. I told the guy I want a new set of 20's and to get some lowering done, also told him that I dont want it to scrub. He is certain that he can fit 20x8.5 (245's)in the front and 20x10 (275's) in the rear with SSL's all round, with out any scrubbing. I am getting it lowered this weekend with my current 20's which are 245's all round. So I will let you know how that goes. The following week I will be fitting the new rims, hoping they wont scrub. Will post pics.
  7. Which model processor and amp are you using? Do you know what they did to get rid of the hissing?
  8. Hrm, yeah still can't seem to find anything about connecting an amp to the stock headunit. Is it just plug n play or does it depend on the amp? What amp would you recommend?
  9. Hey dude, what size are your rims and what suspension setup are you running?
  10. I cant seem to find anything related to an fg, mind posting me a link please?
  11. I also want to run the same setup with a stock Head unit. I was told by one person that a good recent amp will plug right into the stock head unit. However others were telling me that I will need to convert the ICC to a RCA in order to amp it up.
  12. Yeah I figured if I amp the speakers but run the stock headunit I will still get good sound and not have to stuff around installing another headunit. The stock FG one does everything I want it to do so I want to keep it that way. Has anyone else tried to run this setup in an FG?
  13. Hey guys, I am new here, had a poke around the forums but I have not really found what I am looking for. I have an fg xr6, I want to keep the original headunit and plug an amp into it. Then power the speakers and sub off the amp. I dont want to install an aftermarket headunit. Has anyone done this or is there already a thread that I have missed that explains on how to do this? I understand that the outputs from the headunit might have to be converted? Could you please help me out
