  1. Please retract that statement if you have NOT had Nick do a tune for you. I had no leaner than 12.3's afr's when I went 11.8 the first time with stock fuel pump. Stock fuel pump is what made it go to 12.3's!! I have never seen a tune of his go into the 13's. heresay. GOING ABOVE 12.7'S WILL NOT GAIN ANY POWER OVER RUNNING RICH ← I will retract the statement, I have spoken to Nick about tuning and him being able to get high power with standard injectors. He never said that he runs them lean to get power. One thing I don't want to do is cause anyone to think negative about a tuner.
  2. Haven't used the logging as yet. I think it could be useful though.
  3. There is a bit of a story to my Xcal2. When Kris from Sports Compact sent it to me after I flashed my car the auto went into limp mode I think he accidentally put a manual tune in it. I sent the unit back to CAPA they sent me a new unit as I sent he old one back to them. I must say that Tony from CAPA did all he could do to help me so I could get the car on the road with a tune before I went on holiday (I am sending this post from my apartment at Kings Beach) Even though the first tune had a problem I would recommend Kris from Sports Compact the tunes that he gave me were adjustable +or - and he charges less that CAPA for the unit. He supplies them with three generic tunes. He sold it to me for less that what is says on his Ebay shop give him a call for a price.
  4. The Xcal2 is like the CAPA flash (wihch I believe is Xcal1)in fact they come from CAPA even though I got mine from Sport Compact you will find them on Ebay. They flash the ECU just like the CAPA flash but have the ability for the user to make small adjustments. The amount of adjustment that can be made depend on what the tuner allows when they create the file that is stored on the Xcal to be flashed to the ECU. CAPA only allowed my tune to be given more fuel and less timing. However they can be set up to have +or- timing & +or- fuel. The amount of timing and fuel that can be changed are only small e.g 2 degree +or- timing 6% fuel. There is no adjustment for boost. Hope this helps.
  5. Ok here it is gets a bit lean at high revs. Apparently Wogg runs them around 13,s to get his high power on standard injectors. ← I am no expert, but if it was my car I wouldn't want it leaning out at the end that high. ← With the Xcal2 I can richen the mixture unless it is a pump or injector problem. I don't intend footing it too much until I get it back on the dyno too see if I can a richer mixture. Having said that it is within the range that some tuners use.

  7. didn't have time to try the 8psi tune. I guess it would be worth having a look. I will try it next time I am on the dyno.
  8. It is a CAPA generic.
  9. I think if you have a close look at the dyno graph you will see his max boost is around 11psi tapering back. The grid segments are not 1psi increments! Tex, very good results from a generic tune, I guess your next stop is to see Paul @ Elite for a fine tuning! Rob. ← I am on holidays for two weeks starting tomorrow. When I get back it will be tune to see how far it will go without any other mods and then injectors and possible exhaust.
  10. It depends on how the tuner sets it up. The main things that can be changed are timing and fuel. CAPA set mine up so I could only give it lees timing and more fuel. If the tuner wants to they can let you give more and less of these two items. Its not the xcal they set but the tuning maps in the unit.
  11. that's where it was. On the Excal2 when I put the edit in it said 10psi map.
  12. I received my Xcal2 today put it on the dyno see before and after edit graph. I have Monza cooler, F6 CAI and 10psi generic tune 275 rwkw on 10 psi tune.
  13. I have heard that quality is an issue, have you turned the volume on the Ipod to full apparently this helps.
  14. I got 231 less with cooler check this fhread out http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=31663&hl= there is confusion about the figures as to whether they are true.
  15. No to small fortunately my car had good clamps everywhere bar one. I swapped the bad clamp with one in an easy to get at spot I will replace it before I increase boost. The cooler came up well with the heat proof flat black hard to tell from stock.
  16. I can't understand why power would be down with same boost. It doesn't feel slower but I stall can't work out why I got the high reading in the first place. The next time it is on the dyno I will get them to try a run in third and fourth.
  17. I have owned it from new. We can't work out why it had such a high reading yesterday. It isn't the Intake Temp because we put it up much higher than yesterday and it still only read 214. The only thing I am wondering about is the gear and how much difference it makes, he may have had it in third one one day and forth the other.
  18. that's right a Month is a long while to go without more kw,s.
  19. As promised here are the dyno results with cooler. You will see three different power reading the top one is from yesterday and two others with cooler. We manipulated the intake temps to see what difference it made. If you look at the graphs you will see that increasing the IT to 67 gave an increase of 4 kw's. I believe the reading yesterday was accurate but a cooler on its own gives less power not more. They did a run on a stack xr6t after mine and it put out 190 kw's. Food for thought.
  20. After I saw the figures I was qick to ask if the dyno was accurate I was told that it had just been calibrated so it should be. I am curious about the high intake temp though because they will give you a high reading.
  21. fitting the bigger cooler will help alot and should get nice inprovement are you fitting the capa boxs aswell? ← I have an Xcal 2 on the way
  22. I wouldn't normally have posted a first dyno slip but because it was so high I though the discussions might be interesting. As I said I am putting it back on tomorrow to see what difference a cooler makes. I will pay particular attention to the intake temp. Perhaps we will get a realistic reading. I will post the results.
  23. I am not sure about the intake temp I know you can get high readings if the sensor is put near something hot. As far as I know the sensor was put in the CAI.
