I'd like that. It's only a mere 400km for me... May as well use my fair share of fossil fuels before they run out. I'm probably going to go back to bruce an get the e85 tune fixed up, I've got a surge tank and twin pump coming. This time ill drive up. Last time was a bit of a c*nt towing 2700kg of car and trailer behind the slow lux!! perhaps if anyone's around could meet up then? I'm picking up a whole IRS with diff and axles this week (3.45 Ratio) that ill use with the manual I've got waiting to go in. Anyone used. 3.45 behind a zf before? Might be good on 1/8th mile

It's quite random and happens about 80% of the timeout try to browse.

Hey guys, Had my force 6 at Bruce's Mods after engine rebuild from smashed oil pump, Spool rods Mahle pistons Atomic valve springs Stainless valves Atomic oil pump Atomic chain , tensioner and sprocket Nizpro plenum Home made piping 80lb injectors Std turbo Bruce did two tunes, 98 and e85 blend 98 tune with 16psi made 387kw E85 tune50/50 made 431kw On my e85 tune the fuel pump was at its limit and bruce had to max the injectors to keep a bit of safety margin with the afr's. I asked for this as it was basically a tune to win dyno comps with. I am getting a surge tank and pump but for now on the 98 tune I keep the tank full. E85 tune is awesome. It's making 50-70 rwkw more at any rpm over the 98 tune. The dyno graph is pretty deceiving to how it drives on the road... Just simply stunning. I also got the zf tune for nice firm / crisp shifts. The car is going back to clean up the top end of the e85 tune once I get the surge tank and pumps

When I rebuilt my engine I looked into ford pistons for sh*ts and giggles. They listed two, standard and high power. Prices were around the 1200 for std size high power pistons (6). There was no specific listing for f6 and normal turbo

I had an o2 sensor wire sitting on the dump pipe getting all melty, same thing here after an hour of sedate driving I had misfiring from Plugs fouling up. Maybe check there first

Slight Clicking Sound On Acceleration And Shift

Rear. I'll know what it is when something breaks! -
No the turbo end has a fine thread. Lock tight won't do anything, remember what we do to things that we need to undo that have lock tight bolts... We hit it with an oxy. I've seen my turbo and manifold glowi g before... I put new studs with a spring washers. Will see his this goes

Losing Power/boost Under Full Throttle As If Choking :(

I had a metal cat that the metal bit had dislodged and blew down the pipe and turned sideways. Gave driving impressions of ignition breakdown at high revs. Might be something to look at -
Slight Clicking Sound On Acceleration And Shift

Mine does this from the drivers side, my last service ford said it was the axle. No other info lol. -
My housing had cracks everywhere. Every bolt, mount flanges, couple from the wastegate port few inside... Unreal
-
It appears the outer ring broke which then broke the housing. Car had been warmed to running temp. The rapid acceleration or traction control cutting in may have caused it? Who knows. I'm leaning towards the rapid rise in revs being the main cause. I usually run 5w-30 oil - the car had been serviced at ford, I dont know what oil they used but it must have been a bit heavier as it ran more pressure- maybe that was a contributing factor. And the lack if expletives, I was more annoyed about not being able to go out that night! Had to push the car home ( luckily it was on a slight decline and it pretty much rolled backward all the way.) 340 was becoming a bit boring anyway. It's pretty much nailed every car that's tried to run it people love the car for it's quietness refinent, it's sedate nature cruising, fuel economy while cruising and once the go pedel that little moment before all hell unleashes. 500 is my new target, it's sort of like this, when you stall a manual car at the lights, you drop the clutch to save face, I'm building it even better than before to save face haha.

Ok so definitely new valves needed on #6 along with pistons ( they were worst) 3 others have light marks. Swarf found in the oil holes on the crank on 4 cylinders, stripped the cam chain drive sprocket, broke the crank angle wheel, chain guides broken. I couldn't believe the time it took for metal swarf to reach big ends, very quick indeed

About 340rwkw

I got rather unlucky and had my oilpump fail. I was fortunate to be videoing at the time and caught it all. I am presuming it broke somewhere while accelerating in 1st, perhaps as traction was activating, I don't know. It has probably skipped teeth on the cams when you'll see at 5000- 5500rpm it lost power when I realised my oil pressure guage was dropping and right before the oil pressure warning sounded. I went for the key to switch the car off and put it into neutral at the same time then heard the slap of death as the chain rattled around. Anyway, we pulled the motor out and pulled it down, Inner gear is still intact, outer gear is in bits along with the pump housing. Luckily I'd only gotten a couple hundred metres up the road so I just pushed the car home. New target is 500rwkw!

I'm just having a look at the data logging on the xcal3. All interesting stuff! What do I log to get actual boost pressure? I see map voltage, is this correct and if it is what does the map voltage correspond to for boost pressure? Thanks.

yeah mine was the cheapest version of the force, no sunroof and 4 pot brakes. love to see what 6 pots can do because with sticky maxxis tirs (which last about 5 tanks!) this thing sure does make ya head hit the windscreen!

Hi Guys, im from down at mount gambier. This is my BF Force 6. mods and tuning done by bruce at HPT Car runs between 340 and 370rwkw and is a hoot to drive!

I tested the coils for resitance, I didnt really know what I was looking for, 5.38 ohm across theprimary and secondary and .12 ohm primary to ground. would be interesting if someone has a dead coil that could measure.
-
Ok I have success! Changed the coils and plugs again! and car still was the same. I started looking at other things and decided to check the cat. Oh hello metal part inside the cat hs blown down and become wedged sideways against the rear o2 sensor... pulled the sensor out and with a screwdriver through the hole managed to push the guts of the cat back up and then using a wire with a hook pulled it back up and out of the exhaust pipe. So its all good... My next question is what are the concequences of running no cat for a while till I get a new one? Car runs REAL well now hahaha
