IRS on the FG does tramp a fair bit when booted from the lights.... as I found out the other day......best not to spin them at all and dial the power in... either way, this new 335 should not feel slow at all ! quite the opposite, 335kw is a fair chunk of grunt !

will the car log fault codes ?? check those ?

did you change the gearbox oil ? had an issue similar years ago, was the TPS acting up !

ah ok, just adjustment needed on the airbox then.. as for the rest, ive had 4 fords in the last 2yrs and none of them with any issues relating to the bottom end ! done two head gaskets though as they are common in older cars but nothing much else to complain about !

+1 for the toyo or eagle f1 and falken 451 if you can get them here ? that's what I used on my scoobs, great wet tyres too ! edit, just checked, you can get both of those tyres in OZ, falken 451 is awsome ! also, bob jane and tyrepower in mackay stock them,...just checked !

knocking was a bolt ? elaborate please ? never heard of oil slapping about so hard it makes more noise than a bottom end going.. and had an xg with 400+k's on original engine hence why so many I6 ford taxi's so the bottom end being weak is another weird one to me... I reckon we need to hear it in a video or something... could your mate do that ? I am curious !

just done an EF last week. start between cyl 3/4 and go lhs/rhs then forward a cyl, backl a cyl zig zag.... I am sure mine were 19nm then 30 for retorque but someone will have moidel specific torque spec but that's how you do them... middle to ends in zig zag pattern, hope that makes some sense ! HERE, DREW A PICTURE...ITS sh*t BUT EXPLAINS IT SIMPLY ! ON THE LAST TIGHTEN , ITS THE TORQUE + 90 DEG (QUARTER TURN MORE !) BOLTS ARE TORQUE TO YEILD SO I HOPE YOU GOT NEW BOLTS ? DONT USE OLD ONES..UNLESS VERY DESPERATE.....

the ford dealer yesterday, they had 3 of these lovely beasts..light grey metallic, brass/copperish metallic and dark charcoal metallic...very nice indeed ! I had a sit in them while the xr6t was being serviced. pretty much the same... seat was fully electric as opposed to buckets and 2 way electric, couple of down lighters for the courtesy mirrors, trims looked the same as the 50th anny xr6t only darker, not as pronounced of you get what I mean.. front grill is lovely and its a beautiful car ! I'd like one of these too ! charcoal was beautiful as were the rest !

new exhaust midweek so want to be out setting off car alarms soon !
