  1. Welcome, Everyone will have a different opinion. I use Penrite 10 tenths 10w-40. Ive also used Nulon full syn 10w-40 and royal purple 10w-40 all were good couldn't tell the difference between them. Any good brand oil in the right grade will be fine...
  2. Had the same issue with my BA. Had what felt like valve springs took it to two Sydney tuners and both diagnosed valve springs. Put in new springs all good till I got it tuned only 12 psi and after a few big WOT and stop it would idle funny like before and it did it on the dyno. It wouldn't do it until you had done a few hits both street and dyno . Checked everything got told from valve spring guy that its lifters but tuner was positive it was the new valve springs. Never found out I put it back to stock and it never did it again.
  3. for all that it was around the $600 mark from memory, but I supplied the oil and filter which was $120
  4. I did the usual (oil, filter, inlet manifold bolts) plus diff oil it was needed, coolant was needed also clean throttle body, changed fuel filter and brake fluid and power steer fluid. Brake pads on mine were still had a fair bit left at 65000kms when I changed to slotted rotors. ZF oil I changed at 65000kms as well and it was fine, could of gone till 80000kms at least and ZF Australia say there fine to 100,000kms. Spark plugs I will be doing in February at about 72000kms My battery just died and it was 31/2 yrs old...
  5. just go to a local trimmer they will fix it.
  6. Have you checked your pulleys? Take the belt off and run it for a minute too see if the noise stops.
  7. I use Scholl products very good stuff easy to use and get great results with a RO polisher. You have all different grades from S2 ( Compound) to S40 (finishing).
  8. weird that some say that they are noisy, but mine nearly 10,000kms in and they are super quiet....
  9. Have the KU19s very very quiet, way better than the factory dunlops way better traction in both wet and dry on my G6ET... Try Taleb but they didn't stock them when I bought so I went to Tempe and they were great. Mine were 2 months old....
  10. This was 2 yrs ago in my old BA MKII I have a FG G6ET know. I did take it to 2 forum sponsors in Sydney and they couldn't fault it and I had it for another 12 months and never did it again... I know the new owner and its never done it to him either.... It was 2 days after putting it all back to stock after having it tunes with injectors, intercooler, cat etc.
  11. Idle should be 500-550. Mines a bit lumpy from time to time especially when I put BP ultimate in it, don't know why but it is. Have had ford go over it and they reset and updated the computer and it made it a lot less frequent and 2 forum sponsor tuners went right over it and all was good, they both said that it gets a shake every know and then but nothing shows up on the diagnostics, checked all hoses for vac leaks tightened both manifolds cleaned the throttle body still the same. Ive learnt to live with it, my wife doesn't notice it and she reckons I'm imagining it. Ive used 10-40 and 15-40 no difference between those two...
  12. Mine didn't stall drove 30mins stopped for 20mins started car and it was reving at 2500rpm, drove off got on the freeway and was sitting on 120 without touching the accelerator, pulled over turned off turned back on and it was fine
  13. had the same issue with my old BA MKII, but only did it once, had codes checked by my mechanic it came up running rich something cannot remember, he also thought TPS, but it never did it again so never followed through.
  14. The guy who bought my old BA put a full x force twin 2.5 exhaust from turbo back and it made 315 along with flapper mod and actuator. I just had 100 cell cat and middle muffler deleted.
  15. mate I had a ba tuned and was told by every one that id get 300rwkw with the set up I had and it went 275rwkw that's it. few months later I went to another tuner after seeing all these huge power figures for the same mods and it went 280rwkw. As ratter said not all cars are the same, same set up as mine in a BA went 305 same tuner but mine didnt like it plus mine was 15kw less stock than the other one as well. Could of probably spent a fortune to find out why but why bother for 10-20kws
  16. Do not use a generic tune if you value your engine and you have 7+grand to rebuild...
  17. Good idea, the service you get off Spiro is worth the extra few kms you have to go.
  18. I didnt have one break but got valve float at 15 psi with a set that were under 3000kms
  19. hows the kit going? Any issues when its cold ? im wanting to get rid of the factory heat exchangerfor a air to oil cooler.
  20. I got autotech to replace my turbo filter at 50,000km and 21/2 years and the old one was spotless and the previous owner had done 15,000km services and I got it at 47,000kms but it gets serviced every 7,500kms now. and I will replace it again at 100,000kms.
  21. Put me as a maybe would of been a definite but found out companys going through a restructure and I might take a redundancy which means a new job and a lack of leave...
