Hey Pookey Nice car mate, I would of gone the black but the boss hates black ended up with white.. Quick question what does your car idle at in drive once warmed up? Mine sits right on 500rpm which I think is a bit low but ford have told me within specs but the ford manual says 660rpm + or - 50rpm.

nice car I have a 2010 white g6et and love it. I got quotes today aami $715 nrma $1400 and progressive $680 38yrs going with aami as have been with them for 10 years.

I was the same as you tossing up between a vess or a g6et, test drove heaps of each and all the SS's had lifter tick when starting from cold (dealers told me its normal and within limits)and they were slower than the bamkii turbo I had. The g6et is way nicer, smoother and fuel consumptions running at 10.5 50/50 city/freeway and as quick as a mates VE GTS. Ive had it for 5 months but I knew the previous owner and only 1 issue diff bushes which were done under warranty just before I bought it.

if nothing shows up with your mates scanner just take it too ford and pay the $88 which is peanuts to what the car is worth.

thanks Wenier, They got back to me what I was struggling with was that they say that the 10-40 is suitable for a 10-30 oil recommendation and same with the 15-50 is okay if a 15-40 is specified, was concerned it might be a bit thin if the 10w-40 is okay for a 10-30, but they said its fine. What do you guys rekons best to run out of the 2?

Bought a standard cat for a BA off a wrecker and when the mechanic went to fit it he banged it a few times and it started to rattle and he turned it up and out fell the rear wheel with bits of the cat. The tuner had never seen anything like it it was wedged into the cat.

hi guys, Im a bit confused by penrites oil recommendations with the 10 tenths racing oils the racing 15 says its a 15w-50 but it says it should be used where 15w-40 oils are needed, and then the racing 10 says its a 10w-40 but should be used where a 10w-30 is required. Any ideas anyone?

So does the oil light just come on at reds then stays on for a second once the car starts or does it go out then flick back on for a second, if its the later my tuner said that's the oil switch for the turbo supply line and you filter might be getting blocked if the first one that's normal.

Yeah got valve springs done there on my old BA, was very good took care of the car, but I think he is more of a nissan/Expensive Daewoo tuner, more experienced ford tuners in the area.

Mine had a real bad idle ( but it was very intermitant) when I got mine, took it too ford and thankfully it did it straight up they checked everything found nothing, they reset and updated the ecu and its been perfect ever since.

contemplating this but wife doesnt want to go and the 2 mates into cars will be overseas, could be nigel and go on my own.

I went to melbournes cheapest cars and looked at a few in early april this year as I was in the market for one but they were all scuffed up inside and outside yes they were cheap but not for me ended up with a G6ET, there is a place in Granville NSW that sells ex chasers and his ones always seem to be very clean but he had none when I was buying.

had the same issue with my fg. Asit was still under warranty I took it back to ford they went over it couldnt find a thing wrong reset the ecu and installed updates and it idles perfect know. -
Unfortunately my missus has grown up around motorsport and is no dope and drives the G6Et as hard as I do, and the mortgage is a priority at the momment.

No tune for this one had a BA MKII that was tuned and enjoyed it but this thing is quick enough and if I did it I might as well see a solicitor to draw up divorce papers.

Guys, I have a 2010 G6ET only had it for 1month stock and today took off from a set of lights and planted it and just before the 1st to 2nd shift it made a popping sound for a split second then shifted into 2nd and it was fine, I didnt want to see if it did it 2nd to 3rd as I would of been at the police locking me up speed. any ideas what it is sort of sounds like a rev cut out or something? Can only hear it with radio off and window down.

They are my brother in law has one and even he is laughing at this as he knows my stock G6ET is quicker than his 335i.
