  1. Antenna is mounted just under the top cover of the icc display, I get multiple satellite signals which is displayed on the screen so it has a strong signal.
  2. I purchased a factory sat nav unit online and installed it myself, everything works fine except that the unit is slow to respond in direction changes. It takes about 10 seconds before it realises I've changed direction, so it shows me moving horizontally for a while before the screen rotates to point north after making a 90 degree turn into another street. I've heard there maybe an internal gyro sensitivity adjustment that will resolve this but nothing to confirm this. Thought someone may have an idea on it.
  3. Sounds like I'm not the only one experiencing similar symptoms, I was hoping someone had the magic answer. Boost69 might be on the right track as my left rear rim had a buckle on the inside lip which I swapped out but still have the vibration. Already tried re-balancing without luck. Are the tailshaft weights stuck or spot welded on?
  4. Engine mount sounds plausible, cant understand how it gets worse the longer you drive, don't think it would have anything to do with wheels as the vibration disappears when coasting. I'm thinking the uni is stuffed and gets worse as it warms up?
  5. Wouldn't warped wheels vibrate even when coasting? One thing I forgot to mention is the longer you drive the worse the vibration gets. Initially leaving Canberra I could barely notice it but as time went on the vibration was more pronounced, as if something heating up making it worse.
  6. Just came back from a drive to Canberra and have noticed an annoying vibration at highway speeds. It only occurs at speeds above 90-100km/h and only under load and disappears when coasting. The vibration feels like its transmitted through the body and can't feel it through the auto shifter and only slightly in the steering. Apart from Super Pro comfort diff bushes all is stock. Has anyone else experienced this and what was the cause? Otherwise any recommendation of a workshop in Sydney that I can get to have a look at it OTHER than a Ford dealer? Cheers
  7. Cheers willow88, I'll have another go at it and take a closer look at the return line.
  8. I've tried searching the forum and online generally on how to replace the fuel pump but can't find any info on how to remove the pump from the white assy it sits in. I pulled the pump assy out but can't see any way of splitting the inner and outer halves, the 2 spring loaded rods stop it from being disassembled. Has anyone been able to do this and if so share on how it's done?
  9. Thanks for the input guys, I'm trying to secure new wheels but if I cant I look into Seaton's recommendation of using "Virgin Wheel Repairs" unless someone has had great results with someone else. Cheers
  10. bus changed lanes without looking and squeezed me into the gutter.....gutter bashed both left wheels as well as damaging right rear. Ive had other alloys repaired on the wifes Merc and wasnt impressed with the finish. FPV appear to have machined lines on the lip that look distinctive that I hope can be replicated.
  11. Hi guys, Wanted your thoughts on getting dark argents repaired, from experience have the repairers been able to duplicate the factory machined look on the lip? Going through insurance and they want to repair not replace. Thanks in advance.
  12. Typical dealers always looking for a way out of honoring a new car warranty, I know this thread is already a few weeks old but it hits close to home for me. I purchased a 1 year old F6 from an FPV dealer that had been flashed and I wasnt made aware until I needed warranty work done that it was brought to my attention. The dealer I bought the car from didnt want to know about it and Ford/FPV wouldnt honor the warranty and turned a blind eye to their dealer who F!@@## UP. I somehow was to blame for buying a car from an FPV dealer which I had no idea had been flashed. Needless to say I sold the car after the piss poor support from both dealer and spineless FPV. To have a nice car spoiled by penny pinching to save on warranty costs is in my eyes the beginning of the end for Ford. To have the flagship FPV range customer service treated in the same manner as say a Festiva or Focus says little about FPV's focus on customer satisfaction on their high end models. I know exactly what you are going through and it can be one of the most frustrating experiences you can have. The designers/engineers have done a fantastic job to provide Australians with performance cars that bang for buck demolish the euro cars costing over $150K to provide similar performance figures. What a shame the after sales support feels like I live in a third world country in terms of customer satisfaction. Example: I had the dreaded Brembo 6 Piston vibrations that dealers told me was caused by my aftermarket shocks and springs but all know is the sub-standard upper control arm inner bushes being inadequate. Apologies to all for raving on but this needs to be told and heard.
  13. Thanks for the feedback guys much appreciated, Benny what your saying makes sense but what really pisses me off is how the dealer and Ford have just wiped their hands of the matter and they have made the decision for me regarding warranty. My initial plan was to keep the car stock until the factory warranty ran out then do mods. What really pushed my button was the FPV dealers solicitor sending me an email where amongst other things denying that they presented the car as having factory warranty. Are they for real!!!!!!!!! who pays $50K+ for a car less than a year old and doesn't expect to have the balance of the new car warranty? When I initially purchased the car I received an email from the dealer to offer me the option to extend the factory warranty!!!! WTF........ I could take the option that Benny suggests but I believe in people taking responsibility for their actions. Because they stuffed up and didn't pick up that the car was modified I shouldn't be disadvantaged with Ford possibly not honouring any warranty claims I may make. This is the reason I paid premium dollar and bought from a dealer.
  14. I could get the injectors flow tested to see what (cc's,lbs/min) they flow. What are the std injectors flowing?
  15. I live near Sydney airport, Tunehouse seems to be the pick around the area, but I cant understand why I cant get my factory car to stop stalling. Another thing if I start the car and put it in drive straight after the engine fires up and before the engine revs come down to idle it will stall, Is this normal? I have never had a car that did this. I sometimes do it if I'm in a rush.
  16. Since taking ownership of my FG F6 auto I have had a stalling issue that intermittently happens when I come to a stop. It's been back to the dealers 4 times and they cant fault it. When it happens it doesnt shake or vibrate it just falls below 500rpm and stalls or it'll kick up the revs to save itself from stalling. The dealer cant see any error codes and until it happens while they have their diagnostic tools connected to identify the fault they will not replace any parts. So I have the option of either putting up with it or leave the car at the dealer for however long it takes for the fault to re-occur (which can take anything upto a month from experience)and they wont provide me with a loan car unless I pay for it. I called Ford Customer Service who are as useful as tits on a bull. They said the dealer needs to diagnose the fault before replacing any parts while on the other hand the dealer says until they can find the fault Ford wont let them replace any parts. So I'm basically screwed with no one taking an initiative to resolve my problem. To add fuel to the fire the previous owner had the ECU flashed (I was unaware of this) which Ford discovered while diagnosing the stalling problem and now my car is flagged any time a warranty claim is made. I bought the car from a FPV dealer who failed to advise me of the modifications to the ECU and now have to take legal action aginst them to take the car back as I was in the understanding that I had the balance of the new car warranty which is now questionable and am seeking a full refund. This has been a trying experience for me as I worked bloody hard as most people do to purchase what is a fantastic car (being a Expensive Daewoo man) which to me is superior to anything HSV has, to be so let down by dealers who just care about making money instead of looking after the customer. The old days of "doing the right thing by the customer" is long gone. It's replaced by dealers who just want to make a quick buck and companies like Ford who wipe their hands of any warranty liability even if the NEW owner wasnt told the full story by the dealer. All I can say this is the first and last Ford car I will ever own.
