  1. Hmm I think I'm gonna go the SSL / SSSL combination as well as chuck in some new shocks. I'm putting 20' wheels on the same week as well, so hopefully it satisfies me. I'll chuck some pics up when It's done!
  2. Hey guys. So I bought a used fg xr6 the other week, with 60k on the clock. It's been running perfect since I purchased it. However, when I got home from work today and turned off the engine, I noticed that coolant was pouring out of the car. Opening the bonnet, there was coolant pouring from under the white box like thing on the left of the engine where you fill up the coolant. It was literally pouring out like a tap until it was empty. Does anyone know what this might be? the drive home was about half an hour, and the whole drive the engine was sitting at normal temp, just under halfway. I filled up the coolant holder with water and started the car up, and nothing was coming out. I drove it around the block a few times for about 10 mins, turned off the car and nothing happened. Weird :S I'm getting it towed to the ford dealership tommorow to check it out, still under warranty so it should be sweet, but yeah, just checking if this has happened to anyone else?
  3. Awesome, thanks for the responses I definitely want to do it properly, and minimize the loss of ride quality as much as possible. So theoretically I could chuck in some springs, with shorter shocks, and compress the rear springs? Does compressing weaken the springs at all? Sorry I'm new at this!
  4. So I've been looking around at lowered fg xr6's to get some inspiration for my new purchase. I came across this pic: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Can any suspension experts on here have a guess at what set up is going on here? Can you get this low with just springs? I have a bout 2k to spend, and want to get as low as possible! Cheers
  5. Thanks for the replies! Also to clarify, can I just receive these wheels, and chuck them on and good to go? Or will I need to get a wheel balance? Also, will putting these on effect my speedo, does this need to be recalibrated at all? Cheers!
  6. Ah awesome. Thanks heaps for the replies!
  7. Too easy, thanks heaps for the replies! I'm having it fully serviced at a dealer next weekend, so I'll let them know. It's got warranty until the end of the year, so should be sweet!
  8. Hey guys. So I just picked up my xr6 the other day, and am looking at putting some new rims on it. I found these online: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/20inch-New-GUNMETAL-F6-Wheels-Tyres-FIT-FORD-FPV-/290521506066?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a46e6112 Has anyone purchased from here before? I don't mind that they are replica's but just wanted to make sure I'm getting the right thing. IS there any questions I should be asking? as in dimentions and stuff? Cheers!
  9. Hey guys. I just bought an N/A fg xr6 in ego. 6 speed auto. It was used, 50,000 on the clock for $23,000, pretty stoked! Just have a quick couple of questions about things I have noticed so far! 1. I currently have the standard ICC. When I am in auxiliary mode, with my iPod connected, the lower part of the screen flickers. It's nothing huge, but constant while it is on this mode. Is this normal? 2. Also, the outside temp gauge is way off. Reading the manual it suggests that it is an approximation only, but the difference is like, on a 30 degree day, it will display around 10 degrees. Is there anything I can do to fix this at all? Any help would be appreciated! PS. I upgraded from a VP commodore, quite an upgrade I think!
