Fitting wont be the problem they will bolt on. the problem will be the end float on the axles. I will have a look once I get them. Can be done, just not sure which way I will do it until I see it.

Hi, I had a Car Bra from CARBRA AUSTRALIA, for my BA. The important thing to remember is that like a Woman's bra, Cars Bras, are not made to be left on for weeks at a time. If you do this they get dirt, mosture and grime under the bra, which damages the paint. I used mine for longer trips only. I took it off when I got there, and washed the car before I put it back on. Worked fantasic. Was a pain to wash all the time but protected the car well. Dont leave your headlight protectors on under the bra, as they can moove and damage the paint. I have not decided which way to go this time. As I do alot of long distance driving (20000km+ in 8 weeks at times) I thik that it will be too much work keeping the car clean under the bra. As my Car is WHITE this time, wont have as much issues with color matching so periodic bar and bonnet respray might be on the cards

The main issue for the ute with rear brakes, is that the car still has leaf sprung rear. the axels have a fair bit of end float, which is not suited to "non flaoting" type calipers. There are ways around this. THis is why I belive FPV dont put brembos on the back of the utes.

Dont know but I would think so. I had them on my BA MKII with 18's so......I hope so, or I'll be buying new wheels!

I agree with some, dont see much point for the XR8 now that there is te GS. As to the price the XR8 Was alleasy about 3 or 4 grand more than the XR6T (correct me if I am misslead). When I had my last XR6T mates would talk down to me and say its a pitty its not a V8 etc, but everything I have ever read has questioned why the XR8 was there, as the 6T was better all round, except for the exhaust noise!

First Day Of Xr6 Turbo 50Th Anniversary
BCR01 replied to Wackett's topic in Members Cars and Modifications
I saw my first viper 50th sedan this week ,auto at the dealer in cairns. Viper seems to be very rare in Cairns, I have only seen 2 viper FG's here. The nitro is the most common in carins and when I say common I mean common. Seems the Avis and Herts, dont know that there are other colors available. Good that you got some sort of compromise with the wheel. Enjoy your ride, mine gets here next week! -
Wow, second car is a Brand New XR6 Turbo!! Well done! My second car was a $50 HB Torana I bought to fix my first car an LC Torana that Humpped a Nissan! As the others say, new cars dont need the care that the old ones did. The worst thing you can do somtimes is baby them too much! Enjoy the new wheels! P.S, the comment about the Toranas, is in confidence. Dont tell anyone as I will deny it!

-
Wow, best pics I have seen of the new cars yet! (even beter than FPV site!) And how did ya get a pre production ride (has the tell tell metal tag on front number plate)?? I have not been a real FPV fan of late, prefering the XR, but I do belive I have felt some movement! Lucky I live in cairns, no FPV dealer so I should be able to resist temtation for a while.............
-
I didnt think ford offered the sunroof as an option anymore?
-
"Coyote".........."Miami"............ all sound yank to me! Aussie built motor, would have been nice to be somthing Aussie like the "Dingo" or the "Cairns" or even the "SUPER ROO". "today our motoring editor took the NEW FPV GTP for a test drive. This was the firts time we have driven an FPV fitted with the new "Aussie Animal" Supercharged V8. With a torque curve as flat as the top of ayres rock, it pulls like a ........blah blah blah! Got a nice sound to it I recon!

Maybe we should swap phone numbers, might be easyer than trying to spot eachother in a crowd!
-
Well not good news, rang Subaru Factory today and the Vistor Centre will be closed January to March, so no Subaru Factory tour. There will be the Suabru Display at the Tokyo Auto Salon I am sure, and they have the Subaru drivers come in for interveiws etc.

Speaking of Luuuuxury....... 20ks? On my BA's 18's I got 7000kms before they were bald front and rear, and 8000km on the bamkII! at the time they were $750 each! Thanks, looking foward to it. My ute will have more power than everyones............ because I been driving a XL Ranger for 3 years, even standard it will feel like 600rwkw to me!
-
As it is a "limited" addition they released these facts to the ford dealers. If you have a BF, you may be able to get build figures from Ford.........
-
I like the mags quote. Long serving........ what is it 2003-2010? that's 7 years, not so long for the live of a motor. Havent GM been using the same basic motor since 1955?
-
I ordered my ute with a 19inch spare. After I did they reprinted the sales brosure becuse you cant have a 19inch spare in the ute, as it hangs down too low. I have allways get matching spare. On my first BA the 18' tyres were $700 each, so $250 for a tyre and wheel was worth it, even if it meant I only needed 3 tyres next time. Its a pitty if you missed out, but if they have started production might be too late?? I think viper is one of the rarest colors of the 50th's

BCR01 replied to turbo ute79's topic in General Car Talk

Yes it is my ute and NO YOU CANT borrow it! P.S. this iw why hard covers are good.. "I would help you pick up your new fridge, but sorry it wont fit in my ute!"
