Got my ASL sat nav today. I went for the ASL Remote control type instead of touch screen becuase it suited me better. It took about 3 hours to fit, but would have been quicker if I had pluged a conecter in that I forgot about, so I had to take the icc out again. I have to say thier instructions were not clear. Step 3 had me stumped. Could not understand it. I rang ASL and within 1 min I understood what the instructions mean. I got it to work through the factory speakers, so they sent me a modified cd stacker, an I have to send mine back to them. As this guys are the warranty repair agent for FORD I figure they know what they are doing. oNCE IT WAS FITTED I HAD TO GO TO FORD TO GET THME OT PEROGRAM THE NEW STACKER NAD TURN THE REVERSE CAMERA ON IN THE COMPUTER. I picked the car up from ford, nervous if it was going to work. Well it was all a ok! This worked well and was half the price of ford.

The reason I think you should buy the `19" spare, is that the tyres are $570 each, so it is cheap insurance. If I had to I would buy the 19' spare and buy a space saver from the wrecker.When I put the 6 spots on I wont be able to fit a 17 on anyway. I told the ford dealer that I would buy 2 sets of wheels at $250 each! I was suprised that the utes didnt have the option of having a 19' spare (even though at first it was listed as an option) but when I fitted the tow bar I saw that the spare is a 17/245 tyre, so it is the same width anyway!

That looks great, and the fact that the lines are not perfectly streight makes it look mor like real carbon fibre............. it is just painted on isnt it?

As the title says.... Have they killed off the persuit ute?? I see the FPV Site now has only the 2 utes GS and f6. Have they snuck the ute out while everyone has been chating about the new blowen v8?? Or has the website designer just over looked it?? Maybe Bunna can shead some light on it? Could also be that it is a well known fact and I am the only one that didnt know??

I find it best to either ring, email or fax and tell them "I am buying a ????? with these options and this color, am I buying it from you? Not playing games one chance best price" THis works well and saves time re contacting to get down. Having said that this, on the 50th I had trouble getting them to budge. On dealer who I know is a genuine guy, told me that ford had taken all the profit out of these and there was knowehere to move. He wasnt trying to sell one to me as he didtn get any 50th.

The lux pack have fake carbon fibre, the 50th XR has a black and silver checker plate design. They are differant.

I paid $41000 drive away for my 50th Ute Manual, inc Sports Bar, Hard Cover, 19' Spare, Cabin Tidy. I changed a car they had on order from auto to manual and color change, as I they had all been alocated. Some dealers didnt even have any turbo utes coming. I then look on CarSales and see a Manual 50th turbo ute, with no Extras for $45990 drive away! GOOD LUCK SELLING THAT GUYS! I an supprised at how good value these cars are. It is also strange that utes only had 2 options (towbar, auto) and sedans 3 option (towbar, auto, 19' spare). I wanted sat nav, bit ford didnt want my money! "NO SAT NAV FOR YOU!" (got it from asl for about 1/2 price anyway!) I will be keen to see if Ford start to do special deals on lux pack now to keep sales rolling?????

I would say about the same amount Expensive Daewoo and Toyota have lost to FORD from bad service. I think that they all have good, bad and worse! I found Subaru to be the bes, but having said that I only had 2 claims. One the knocked back, which I questioned, and gave my resons why I thougt it should be covers, then they said yes! I hope I get a picnic basket.

Fitted the tow bar yesterday, truns out they wrote the wrong part number on it, and it is not for XR! It is 3mm from the exahust so got a knock in the rear, on a 3 days old car..........NICE! Guy I bought the tow bar off seems to be doing the right thing, sending me a trailboss one for a XR6 this time, should be right for sure..............

Managed to get my ute with the spare 19" mag. Was lucky becuse they printed that the ute did have the option even thought it wasnt an option. Ford reprinted the sales brosure next day. Becuase I had ordered it they cam good, so I ended up with the 19" Just as well becuse when I get my big brakes, steel wheel wont fit!

I read somthing about the manual FG Turbos haveing Launch COntrol. Somthing like in first with the clutch in, floor it and the computer will hold it at 3000rpm, then drop the clutch and the compyter will doo the rest? Fact? Fiction? how do you use it? DSC on or OFF?

Thanks guys, picked it up today, didnt get much of a drive, cuase I wanted to fit the hard cover! Feels good, but will take time to adjust to the falcon, after the ranger, there is a few noticable differances................

Driving past the dealers yard this morning and saw a transporter there............took a peak, and there she is! Snuck in and took a few (100) pics of her pre delivery. Should be able to pic her up tomorrow! My misses is excited too......she cant wait for me to stop talking about the new car......I think she will be dissapointed!

Coppers, dont have any concern for the car, it is just a tool to catch the bad guys. No Gutter too high no creek to deep, no medium stirp too wide! I have seen many cop cars from underneith and they have many battle scars.

Good to hear! I think credit where credit is due, and there are some things I like on the holden. It is $10k more, but has sat nav in the ute which was not an option on the 50's. Seems my money wasnt good enough for Ford, SAT NAV IS NOT AN OPION! As to brembos............ I dont like half performance brake packages. Fords do it now Holden, Brembos front single piston caliper rear! But as you say, I didnt compare, cause I wouldnt buy one anyway! The only thing Expensive Daewoo I have is thier birthday, and I'm stuck with that! Only 3 sleeps to go!!

Dillz, you seem to be lost again! HSV / Expensive Daewoo forum is that way! As to painted wheels, the Redline, only has HSV wheels, unpainted...........

Dont worry too much, for a start, its a holden, and they start at $47000 + onroads, so big differance. If you order a red one you can get flashy red leather interior, but any other color is grey black only! It will be interesting to see if ford, dicount the LUX pak across the board now, or they leave it as before. As far as I can see, the Lux Pack Utes were about $50k drive away?

Sounds like a good buy! Seems that ford might be doing some deals now that the 50th XR production has stopped. when I was 21 you were lucky if you had a car younger than you!

Well just sold my Ranger, and feel sad to see it go it was a great car! Went some teriffic palces and created alot of sales from the trips we went together! Feels like I lost a friend! My misses said tuff luck becuse I am the heartless B@#$ard, that dumped the ranger for the new 50th XRT! she is very understanding! I had to work really hard at selling this car. Good kms, Good Options, Good Condition average sale price, however SOLD! Better than having Big sale price, but not selling. Sign of the times, but now is not the time to be selling. having said that, now is the time to buy, I may have sold the Ranger cheap, but the 50th XR6T was so cheap, I dont regret it. Only 7 sleeps to go............

Well there you go! I am a Qualified Mechainc, but not on the tools now, seems if you snooze, you get left behind! I gotta say why car manafacturers make it so complex is beyond me. "Fill till the oil comes out" worked fine for 80 years! Having said that, I have worked auto cars that have had VERY pacific ways of checking oil. No more KISS for cars! (KISS= Keep It Simple Stupid!)

Is the Tremec, not the same as 99% of manual trans, where you fill the oil to till it starts coming out the fill hole?? This make is easy to know if you have the right amount of oil. IMO, you should not have to worry about changing the oil, in a new car, with a new transmition. If you are concerned maybe Mal Wood could shed some light on this. He is a site sponcer too!

BA/BF calipers will be different as the Calipers are on the front of the front wheel on BA/BF and are on the Rear of the front wheel on FG. PBR have just released a M Series brake packge for FG Falcons. Still 6 pot front and 4 spot rear. It will be this kit that I will be using. I know that one site sponcer Senna T can supply these kits. that's the guys I got mine off. The only real problem I had was coming back from Townsville once. There is a plastic window that lets you see the number plate..........................that was the problem, you could see my number plate in the Picture too well! $$$$ Speed Camera wins again! Quality was great and fitted well.
