  1. Hey guys and gals! I need a MASSIVE favour, could someone please take a shot of their "F6 310 " logo either on their boot or door panel and post it here as soon as you can?? I'm having some stuff done to me car, and I need the logo to make a sticker, and the only one I could find on the net is a bit too small! the car is in the shop at the moment, so I don't have access to it, otherwise id do it myself! if anyone can help this will be greatly appreciated, and I'll definitely post pics when I'm done! thanks heaps in advance!! Yoz!
  2. im paying about 1400 a year with RAC in WA. im 26 and car is always garaged. no claim bonus for life so I was pretty happy! my initial quote was with SGIO and they were asking 3300! so I changed quick smart!!!
  3. NO, haven't done it yet! its booked for november sometime, really looking forward to it! the squeak isn't one of those little ones you would usually hear with build-up, its so loud, that my neighbours have actually mentioned it in passing! if they can hear it, in their house, all the way from my garage, its bad! everyone who hears it cringes! if I can record it I will, its just insane! even after it rains, and the discs rust over a bit, its like nails on a blackboard! simply ridiculous! if you're at the motorplex on the 1st, I'll try and demonstrate, but as with all things, it probably won't do it when I need it to!!
  4. haha, no they didn't! not when I bought it! I suppose they just wanted the sale! but he did tell me a week later that they were changing it MAYBE in the future! nice time to tell me! but I suppose when they come out there'll be an influx of badges on eBay, so I'll just wait!
  5. Its Lane Ford in Mandurah WA. My dad used to be a mechanic for toyota and he rekons no way they are supposed to squeak! so when it goes in for the inspection in 1000kms time, I'll definitely want it to be fixed!
  6. You guys are so lucky! I wish the Perth motorplex would hold a special day for us here! last week, the weather was clear ALL week, cold temps, but clear skies! would have made perfect conditions for racing!
  7. "Along with the emissions updates, FPV has added new branding features to the F6 range, with FPV badges now feature on the steering wheel, dashboard and key fob." Does this mean my F6 should have an FPV badge on the steering wheel??!
  8. well just to update, they rang today and said that the ecu didn't arrive as they thought it would, and that it will be here monday, but he won't get the car till wednesday! suffice to say he is not happy, having payed 80k+ for this car, and he now has to drive a ford focus around! haha! but we think that it was a more serious problem that they stuffed up, and now they're trying to cover it up with this whole "ecu unavailable" song they've been singing. cause we find it rather hard to believe that in the whole state there are no spare ecu's for the GT? do you think there might be some truth to this assumption? have ford mucked up and are just trying to buy themselves some time?
  9. I have to agree with Dillz. The little I read about BOV's is exactly what he said. The charged air needs somewhere to escape, hence the BOV. I also heard that by blocking this you could potentially damage your turbo in the long run, due to pressure spikes being fed back into the turbo when you snap the throttle shut. this video should clear it up a bit for you, at least the first 5 mins of the video!
  10. hey mate, these guys are right, everyone always likes to see pics! get some on there!! we all wanna see!
  11. White, Auto for sure! and I rekon don't go for the dark argent, IMO the OE rims are more authentic, and they still look the goods! Driving the Auto is such a godsend, cause I pretty much drive it like a manual anyway, just no mucking around with the clutch, and the ZF can definitely change gears faster than I can, especially when you launch it! I went with the silhouette in auto, but should have gotten the white, cause it looks so sexy with the headlight surrounds, really good contrast and just looks sexy as! plus, if you buy the silhouette, you'll be washing it every week like me because I sit in traffic EVERY morning, the auto is awesome, and still, a LOT stronger than the manual box..so I've heard! good luck mate, but no matter what choice you make, you'll be chuffed with your purchase!! be sure to check the brakes in reverse, mine squeak like hell! check out the thread in this forum!
  12. yep, no idea on how they did it, they didn't leave much details! my guess is as good as anyone else's. probably did wash the engine bay, and some water got in we rekon! well, we'll never know, cause they'll never tell!
  13. well, I told them that I'll grin and bear it for now, but they have to look at it when I take it in for the inspection!
  14. Hey guys! A mate of mine had his "check engine light" come on in his 28000km old 5th anniversary GT. the owners manual said something about the error code is due to something wrong with his emmissions? he has had an exhaust mod done, and a tune, all by Ford before he purchased it. took it in straight away to the dealer, and they did his 30000km and after washing it, it wouldn't start. they said that the ECU had fried and they had to order him a new one, and this was the second one they had in the last few weeks. anyone else had any ECU problems or anything similar happen to theirs? Cheers!
  15. Haha! that's true! I'm not knocking Brembo or FPV or anything, but wouldn't this be a serious design issue that should've been sorted prior to release? how old is yours? did they feed you the same story?
  16. Hey Guys and Gals! My F6 is about 1800kms old, and since I bought it, the 4-pot brembo brakes squeak like hell in reverse! but in reverse only, and only at low speeds. and its really bad! very loud! the problem became apparent to me when I first reversed it into the driveway, on my way back from the dealer after purchase. so I thought "oh yeh, brand new brakes, they'll sort themselves out, I'll get it checked at the 3000kms inspection!" but 1800kms later, they're still just as bad. even worse after I washed it, and there's a little bit of surface rust on the discs. so I went to the dealer, and the service manager told me that its a problem will ALL new FPV cars. what the??? I questioned him if its brembo's fault, or FPV's and he said "its just one of those things." what the??? he said that even on the 3000km inspection, they won't b able to fix it, it'll always be there, and never go away (his words!) he mentioned its because the pads are directional, they will always squeak in reverse and maybe forwards as well. but I've had no problems going forward. so is this something they're just saying to me to not fix it before the 3000km inspection? or will it be sorted then, even though he said it wouldn't? I'm happy to wait till the inspection, but its become really embarrassing when I reverse into my driveway, or at the shopping center or work, cause I think people are thinking "Ohhh, brand new F6 and the brakes squeak! what a sh*t car!" so if there are any ford mechanics out there, is there truth to their claims that it can't be fixed? or can anyone here help me and lemme know if this is a problem on ALL FPV's? or just mine? and will it go away etc? any answers will be helpful! my mates GT is about 30000kms old, and he said his has NEVER squeaked, neither has his dad's GT-E ? so is mine a dud??? cheers guys!
  17. Thanks for the welcome guys! and yes, the HID's are quite bright, so I'll have to take a look at tweaking them so they're not pointing in other driver's eyes! and I'll def be there on Sept 1 to see how she goes down the black strip! hope that simon will be there with his massive HP in his F6, would love to see that puppy in action! The dealer told me to be kinda gentle with it for the first 1500kms, but now that its over that, I've been giving it a bit of stick, and found she has learnt some nasty habits! she is a bit laggish in second, I.e drops down the revs from about 2500 back to 2000 even in performance/manual, before it ramps up again. but I think that is mainly due to driving it on suburban streets, having only 60kmph to go up to in second or officer plod will get me! haha! but hopefully a good run this weekend will get rid of those ugly gear changes! Cheers!
  18. Hi guys and gals! I'm also yet another newcomer to this forum! I have tried other ford forums out there, but none that have the amount of info and as many posts as you guys! so I'm really happy to be here! This is my first ever high performance car, and what a car to start with! never have I driven anything that is not only so powerful, but handles like a soviet missile on train tracks! I just have to say what an amazing, beautiful car this is, and I very much look forward to driving this, for the next 10+ years..at least! car is still pretty much stock standard, with the exception of a HID kit fitted last week, and rust prevention, and that's about it! I have plans to fit some speakers and some subbly wooflers to go boom in the next few weeks, so watch this space for some pics! I am located in Perth WA, and can't wait for the first cruise I can participate in, and check out some other member's rides! but I know what you're all waiting for..some pics, so here are some!
