Thanks mate, some really good info there! the guys who did the upgrades said I didnt need an intake upgrade, and since they seemed to know what they were on about, I left it at that! I haven't budgeted for a new cooler setup, so once I can save up more money, I might look at getting that done! the general consensus from the replies I have had is to go see Simon at XFT, so I think I might take a drive there one day and have a chat to him and see what he can do! thanks all, if anyone else has any other advice, please it would still be appreciated! Thanks guys! Yoz.

hey everyone, This post was a reply from a different thread entitled "Introduction" and I'm starting a new topic so I can have some more feedback and not to step on PHawk's thread (sorry dude!) I got new injectors, new fuel pump, full stainless exhaust (4"dump off the turbo, hi-flow cat, twin stainless and new high flow muffler) bored out wastegate and a replaced 12 psi actuator with a tune and all I got was 412HP at the treads?? no mods to the cooling system still the complete stock one. is it just me or the 34 degree celcius heat it was tuned in or did I get jipped on the tune?! I've heard some guys getting 450HP + ATW for this kind of setup, so am I missing something? Turbo6FG: yes the intercooler setup remains stock. I asked Grenville (the guy in charge of the upgrades) if I needed a new cooling setup and he said I didn't need it, as the stock one is big enough, and can handle more than enough cooling. everything he presented was top notch so I took his advice and left the cooling unit. I'll think about the intercooler, but for now im just gonna leave it stock. ROOF: I'm currently running 17PSI and the tune was done by House of Power in O'Connor. it was tuned here because EMU Autoworks use this tuner. when I went for a look, ALL the cars outside were Holdens and HSV's is it at all possible that my car was de-tuned? because of the bitter rivalry between Ford and Expensive Daewoo fans? I know its a heinous thing toi even think, but does this happen at all out there? I havent been in the game long, so I'm still learning the ropes? could it be that or maybe just the 34 degree heat that it was being tuned in? the first time it was tuned, there was a mixup and the tuner thought that there was a modified wastegate and actuator, so it was achieving 412HP and boost spiking like a b**ch @ 13psi!! so after a few error codes later and a modified wastegate and new actuator it was retuned and STILL only providing 413HP ATW? this make sense to anyone? running more boost, with a better actuator, and stronger reliable boost at that, still making the same power?? before I did the mods she was making 270HP ATWso theres definitely an improvement on power. HOWEVER..when I visited the Motorplex on 9/2/11 all I managed was 12.30, 12.42 and 12.32 I had only achieved 3 tenths of a second quicker than my completely stock time of 12.6 in sept last year?? mind you it was still hovering around 30 degrees on Wed last week, so is this heat and humidity playing silly buggers with my tune/ quarter mile times? could it be as simple as waiting for winter and re-tuning it and running it then? any thoughts would be helpful, its left me scratching my head. Grenville said his BA was getting 450 ATW with EXACTLY the same setup as mine, so still I don't understand whats going on? its going in tomorrow to have the solenoid checked because I'm also still getting boost spike codes, even after the new wastegate and actuator was put in? so any ideas anyone?

just a little off topic..but I call B/S on the 350rwkw! I got new injectors, new fuel pump, full stainless exhaust (turbo back) bored out wastegate and 12 psi actuator with a tune and all I got was 412HP at the treads, no mods to the cooling system. is it just me or the 34 degree celcius heat it was tuned in or did I get jipped on the tune?! I've heard some guys getting 450HP + ATW for this kind of setup, so am I missing something?

Hey mate! I went to mine late last year in WA, it was awesome! you'll start with a safety brief (obviously!) then they'll go into understeer, oversteer, apexes and car geometry. once you head onto the track you'll do a slalom with some witches hats, next you'll go onto the brake and swerve @ 60kmph and then the traction control exercise! such an awesome exercise! once that's all done, you'll do a few laps of whatever circuit you're on (that's what we did in perth anyway) and then you'll do a motorkhana incorporating all of what you did on the day through a series of obtacles. the person with the fastest time will be awarded a prize from FPV, in our case it was a hat! its a fantastic day, and you'll have a lot of fun! I learnt so much about what these machines can do and was blown away at the engineering and how it all comes together! good luck, and trust me, you won't be disappointed! enjoy! hope this helps! lemme know if there's anything else you wanna know! -Yoz.

Hey mate, awesome looking car! I have a huge problem with the silhouette colour, not even 5 mins after I polish it its got dust on it, like metal shavings to a magnet! I got the california duster from the states, and it brings it up a treat after theres some dust on it, and only takes 5 mins to dust it all off! I highly recommend it for anyone whos as much of a neat freak as I am!

I did all of my runs in performance auto, the best I got was 12.62. a friend of a friend told me that in full auto, the ecu knows exactly when to shift at peak power! I never did try it, but the next time I head down I wanna try it!
-
For sure! you get a hell of a lot of bang for your buck! some people I talk to say that FPV deliberately released it as 310kw as opposed the 315kw that the GT makes, because some old school fans just wouldn't be able to handle the fact that there's a faster car than their precious GT's on paper, even though the F6 decimates them on the quarter! but we all know that the F6 is a much faster car, compared to the GT, in its stock form! I'm still yet to have mine dyno-ed but am very interested to see the results! can you post your graph on here? I'd love to see it!

I'll be at cockburn shopping center! so I just look for all the fords in the carpark then??

I was there 15th september 2010! I did see another silver FG F6, maybe that was her? didn't see what the runs were though! but yes, I agree with you, with all that stereo stuff I had in the boot, it was still a bloody quick car for stock standard! but after christmas, I'm gonna do a few small mods, probably a package from simon at XFT, so that'll be my next visit there with the car! I'm planning on taking the bike there sometime soon, just to see what an R6 can do! those are 2 of my fav songs! the first was Bodies by Drowning Pool. I've always wanted to use it in a video ever since the first time I heard it. and the timing between when the song actually starts (FLOORRRR!) and the burnouts begin, is just perfect, even if I do say so myself!! the second is Too close to see by Strung Out, its been one of my favorite songs for years! but everyone is entitled to their opinion, if you don't like it, just don't watch it, its that simple! Thanks for having my back ace!

its still a V8 and hasn't got the acceleration that the F6 has. and I forgot to mention, that my mate has his GT modded, he has a new CAI, a new exhaust and some chip and tuned! so even a stock GS or GT will still be hard pressed to beat the F6! hence the reason I went with the F6! I love the sound of a V8, nothing can replicate it! but the sheer power of the F6 in comparison is indisputable! he (my mate) said that he grew up around V8's and his old man, and his grandad all had GT's growing up, so when the opportunity arose for him to own one, he grabbed the chance. otherwise he would've gotten the F6. he says he just loves my car, but it doesn't sound like his! and that's all he got! so if you want a good sounding car, go for the GS, if you want a very quick car, go for the F6!
-
nice mate, I got an '02 R6 so I know how you feel about the boys' toys! haha! what do you mean you have to go back to sea? you on the rigs are ya?
-
Yeh it was my mate in the SS ute. my last time was about 15 or something, but that was because my countdown didn't work cause there was something wrong with that outside lane that everyone was having trouble with. but with 2 12 second passes, I think it was safe to say that it would have run around the same time if I got the start done right!
-
well, even though the supercharged GT is 335KW, its still a LOT heavier than the F6, so the times might be a bit similar! I was surprised to see my mates GT run a whole second slower than mine. the weight between the two cars is only about 45kgs, but I suppose I got the acceleration off the line! but I suppose only time will tell! I think it hits showrooms next week sometime? so invariably there'll be someone/some article on how good/bad she is!

well, my camera is some old sony that I bought a few years back, I don't do much video recording to justify buying a new one! I know, tell me about it! I'm still waiting for my brother to finish off his EB falcon he's modding, something about a 302 edlebrock??! but I got sick of waiting, so I just went down without him!
-
Funny you should say that, cause the camera man ( AKA COBIE!!) was tossing up between the GT and the F6310, and after seeing me whoop my mate's ass by a whole second, he was sold! so it just depends on what you like, the rumble and sound of the V8, or the smack-back-into-your-seat acceleration of the F6! I'm running an auto, just couldn't pass up the tough-built ZF6 'box!
-
yeh, he wasn't the best camera man, we told him next time we'll give him a tripod! haha!

Ever since I got this ballistic missile of a car, I wanted to see what all that money bought, and if it'd be worth dragging off every bogan in a Late model camira that pulls up next to me! So I did some reading around, and saw that on paper the F6310 will do about a 13.5 second quarter mile (according to Wheels Magazine anyway) so I headed on down to Kwinana Motorplex on Whoop Ass Wednesday to see how she would fair. A mate of mine has a 5th anniversary GT so he took his down as well, to see ho that would do down the quarter! lets see shall we... I was thinking anywhere in the 13 second range would be good, so I was pleasantly surprised with what she ran first up! and let it be known that it was completely stock, no modifications whatsoever! I even left the twin sub box in the boot! I was in such a hurry after work I didn't have time to pull it out! so now at least I have a baseline for what she can do, so its time to start saving for mods!!!
-
mine has started to go away now, but still really bad after I wash it and the rotors develop rust. but normally now in reverse, its not so bad!
-
bad news...the dimmer on the cluster is only for the heads-up display in the middle of the cluster :( the gauges cannot be dimmed/brightened! believe me, I've tried!
-
yep, mine is still really bad! next week I'm taking it in for the first inspection, so I'll see how it goes!
-
haha, very funny IBOO57!! but the one I gave him was good enough..I think! only time will tell! hopefully I'll be able to pick it up this arvo and see how it looks! he said he was able to scale it up, so hopefully it'll work!

anyone else pissed off that their radio is SOOO much quieter than the iPod/AUX interface?? I mean seriously, I listen to the radio to/from work, and if there is a sh*t song on (which mostly it is!) I switch it to iPod. the radio has to be turned up much more than the iPod, and when I change it from the radio to iPod, I practically blow the speakers, and my eardrums! anyone else come across this problem?
-
yep, thought of that, the closest FPV dealer is too far away, and going at night is out of the question too, all their FPV cars are locked in the showroom! just my luck huh?!?!
-
yep, that's the one I found on the net, and beleive it or not, its too small! I asked the guy if he can use the badge on my car and he said he'll try and stencil it from that one, but not sure how it'll turn out, he said if I can find one about A4 size it would be good, but I suppose we'll see?? but thanks maximus, I appreciqte you guys helping me! still can't find anything big enough to fit an A4 page! been searching for hours!
-
it does help. but a front-on shot, like looking straight at it would be best! it has to come out flat, not on the angle. but I'll give it to the dude doing the installation, and see what he can do! cheers adam!
