  1. Here is the link straight to the online manual: http://www.myford.com.au//OwnerManuals/Aus...2_BA_Falcon.pdf
  2. Hey, has anyone who is a lawyer or has a bit of money to hire one ever thought of taking the insurance companies to the anti-discrimination commision on the basis of age discrimination.

I reckon 1000 would be the number to get really excited about. Or maybe 999 too.
  4. I've read an article that says the NSW police are getting 10 XR6T's delivered about now. I would guess that when they get them delivered, they then have to add all the "police bits" (sirens, flashing lights, etc.) This would probably explain why nobody's seen them yet. I haven't read anything about any other states yet. Also, 10 cars is not a lot for the entire police force, so they'd probably be a pretty rare sight anyway. Over here in SA, just about all our police cars are commodores, so I'm looking forward to having a car that's faster than the police! I should point out that I don't plan to have to use this extra speed against them though. :angelwings:
  5. I have an article in front of me that says the VY SS has a speed alert feature and the BA XR6T doesn't. The first time I read it I knew it wasn't true, because I test drove an XT and that had the speed alert feature so I thought for sure the XR's must have it. I think the journo that wrote it just didn't know what they were talking about. The same article also lists the XR6T's speed at indicated 100km/h as being 97km/h
  6. Wow, I'm amazed! The alarm was the first option that I selected. Sure, professional thieves probably won't be deterred, but I reckon if some hoon out there is looking for a joy ride they'd be deterred. I haven't got my XR6T yet, but a while back I had an alarm installed on my current car. I sleep a lot better at night now knowing that if anyone tries anything with my car (usually parked just outside my bedroom window) that it'll wake me up in a flash. And yes, if your car's stolen your insurance company gets to worry about it, but I bet your next premium would be quite a bit higher as the theft would be counted as a claim. Plus, if your car is stolen, you have to deal with the inconvenience, the anger and worst of all.... the wait for another XR6T! Do whatever can be done to prevent it getting stolen! (That's my line of thinking anyway.)
  7. Why are there only 5 models listed? Some people (not me, I voted BA) might want to vote for a different model.
  8. According to everything I've read, the XR6T comes standard with 17 inch rims & 235's or optional 18 inch rims and 245's.
  9. The handle thing doesn't work, cos no blue XR6 Turbo has magically appeared for me.... yet! BlueXR6T: Thanks for giving me a glimpse of what my future car is going to look like. Sweeeeeet car!
  10. :doh2: Silly me. I'll open my eyes and read a bit more next time!!! BTW, let us all know what you end up ordering
  11. Check out this topic: Which Steering Wheel?
  12. XR6T coming in March. I'll be lining up at the buffet then! :D
  13. What we're talking about is waiting until the car we want with premium sound is built (April or whenever) or getting one without premium sound that the dealer already has.
  14. If you want premium sound for the 6 stacker, I'd say wait because it is apparently pretty much impossible to change the deck later on. If you want premium sound for the better speakers & sub, then it's a case of whether you want to fork out more money later to upgrade. I was faced with a similar decision in December; wait til March build to get what I want, or get one with no options almost straight away. I chose to wait because if I'm gonna spend $50,000 on a car, I want it to have exactly the options that I want. I think it just depends on how patient you are. (I was very tempted not to wait!)
  15. When I was at my dealer, he gave me an excerpt from Wheels Magazine (Nov 02) of comparisons between the different BA Falcons and VY Commodores. I have since found these same articles on the Web, so if you're interested, here are the links: Falcon v Late model camira overview XT v Executive XR6 v S Supercharged XR6 Turbo v SS Fairmont Ghia V8 v Calais V8 The printed version has a lot more pictures. It also has a table at the end of each article comparing such things as price, performance (0-100, etc.), technical specs, etc. At the bottom of the tables are ratings out of 5 stars. Falcon got better ratings in every comparison. I'll leave you with a quote from one of the articles:
  16. This may seem like a strange question, but I'm curious to see what people think.
  17. Is that why you got the purple car? To go with the tights and mask!!! As for my member ID. Well, it just so happens that I'm getting a blue XR6 Turbo.
  18. What's with Tickford doing after-sales work. I thought Prodrive was doing this now? I believe its done at the old Tickford Building.. but done by FPV. It's my understanding that FPV is essentially Tickford with a different ownership structure. Check out www.fordperformancevehicles.com.au
  19. I've spent quite a bit of money upgrading the audio system in my current car (EL Falcon), so when I ordered my XR6T I told them that I wanted the audio system put into the new car. They ummed and ared and said that they could do some of it but not all. They said that they wouldn't be able to put in the deck (because of the ICC & the whole centre part of the dash essentially being one piece). The other thing they were concerned with was the rear speakers. They are a different shape. Oval speakers in the BA, circular in my EL. In the end I decided it was going to get too messy (not to mention costly), so I just decided to get the premium system instead, which I'm led to believe is pretty bloody good anyway.
  20. I ordered mine on 7 Dec 2002 and have been told that it will be a March build. Haven't heard anything to the contrary since, so fingers crossed there won't be any delays. Narooma Blue, manual, 18" alloys, alarm, carpet mats, scuff plates.
