First off, a bit of background… My car has edit, injectors, and cold air intake. My car is a manual. Not long after I first got the edit, I had a warranty problem come up. I had the standard injectors put back in and flashed in the standard tune. As a result of this warranty work, the Ford dealer determined that the computer was faulty and replaced it. This meant that I had to get the edit redone for the new computer. After I had the edit redone, was when this problem started happening. The problem… When I rev out to about 5500-6000rpm and change up a gear, the car seems to stutter a couple of times when I put my foot down in the next gear, almost like a bunny hop (except at much higher speed). It also does it if I drive along at about 60-70km/h and change back to 2nd and floor it. It feels a lot like I’m stuffing up the gear change and bunny hopping the thing. But it happens regardless of if I do a quick change or take my time doing it. The only way I can drive quickly is to short-shift, which is really annoying! When I got my tuner to check it out, they said that it appeared to be something mechanical in the driveline, that I should put it back to standard and get it fixed under warranty. I have had the car put back to standard once since this problem first cropped up, and I just couldn’t get it to do it while it was standard, so I’m not convinced. In a couple of weeks’ time I’m going to take it to another tuning place and get them to check it out. I thought I’d post this on here to see if anyone has any ideas what it might be, or if anyone has experienced something similar to this. And I’ll post on here what the actual problem is when I find out for sure. I think that pretty well covers it!
