Bought my XR6 Turbo 2 years ago & paid $230 per tyre for Michelin Preceda PP2's (235/45 R17) after doing some research on this forum saying how wonderful they were... well...15 months & about 20,000kms later the tyres are worn & have to get another set. I would have thought paying more for tyres would have given me approx. 30,000kms & lasted 18-24 months but not the case. It seems the "great tyres or more expensive tyres at $230+" have excellent grip & noise levels, but just simply don't go the distance on mileage! On the other hand, the cheaper $160 tyres may last longer than 20,000kms but have poor grip & noise levels - is this an accurate assessment? I don't mind paying $230 per tyre again - I just would prefer if the tyres lasted more than 30,000kms? I use the car for everyday driving, but do a bit of mileage with my work, so 20,000kms in a year is realistic. What do people think of Maxxis MAV1? Toyo Teo Plus? Pirelli Nero? Any suggestions?
