  1. Yeah, probably not the him as the shaft rotates fine but no hot coolant seems to be getting to the core...? Unless the him controls something else like a heater tap which isn't getting opened.
  2. The heater on my BF (2005) XR6T auto stopped working suddenly last week. I've checked the mixer shaft and it rotates on the driver's side (so not snapped at the passenger side where they usually go) I pulled the heater hoses off and there is free flow through the core.... but... When running, the heater hoses in the engine bay at the firewall don't get hot. There's a little hose which comes off one of the heater hoses at a T piece, and that does get hot. The hoses to and from the heater core are luke warm at best. I read somewhere about a transmission thermostat causing this as well- has anyone else heard of this? possibly in the external cooler for the auto tranny? I guess another possibility is the heater flap has come away from the mixer shaft... but of course I'll only see that when the dash is out... Thoughts?
  3. I had a vibe in the car at those speeds. Took the car to a large well known store in Perth, they said one wheel bent, so I had it replaced. Vibe still there. This is after they balanced all the wheels including the new one and said they were all good. Took the car to Wilkinsons suspension and they found that another wheel on the car was bent- just about square! So get your wheels balanced and check them for roundness- but just be careful with your choice of shop... Replaced the second bent wheel and it's all perfect now. This was damage done before I got the car btw!
  4. Thanks- I had a good chat with one of the guys on ebay selling them and he said that the issue arises when people try and code the focus/mondeo keys which look identical but have different transponders. The BF ones work no problem apparently so I have bought one and we'll see what happens. Just have to stump up for Ford's exorbitant reprogramming charges- and find a key cutter who is half way reasonable. Thanks for the help.
  5. I was looking at getting a flip key for my 05 BF xr6t. There's a few on fleabay for anywhere from 70-130 new, and the part number comes up to a FG flip key. I went to my local Ford dealer here in Perth and they said the key won't code to my car, and I'd have to get a transponder out of a new BF key blank and the door remote guts out of a BF remote and transplant them into the FG shell as the FG internals won't work at all with the BF. So many conflicting stories- and also as an aside, I went to Mr Minit key cutting who said they charge $170 for one standard key, but and program!! They charge another $50 for a standard seperate remote which is actually not too bad, but overall seems alot! He also said that he would charge $50 just to cut a key and wouldn't program a key that he didn't sell. I'm bit stuck as my car only came with one key when I bought it so can't do the diy programming.... Has anyone successfully coded a flip to their early BF? Suggestions as to where to get one?
  6. Yup. That's why I bought my 05 BF auto in black. 6 speed auto and leather trim. Very nice. Bought it as a hail damaged car over here in WA so reasonably cheap and easy for me to fix up (ex panelbeater). Now to decide on what mods....
