  1. This sounds almost reasonable. Given that it has gotten worse since loading it up. However whenever it's in for a service they seem to fix it (temporarily)
  2. Thinking this one? Yup I posted that last year. Said it was a bent axle. They're going to hate me there but I'm taking it back to get it sorted. Also makes a really bad drone at 110km/h but that's another story.
  3. 2010 FG Manual XR6T Ute - 22k on the clock For most of its life it's made all sorts of noises. In particular is the creak/knock in the back whenever I take off (at any speed) or come to a stop, or go over a bump. It would slowly get worse over time. I would take it to Fraud, and they'd do the general tightening up in the rear. Drive away, no noise. Comes back a few weeks later, over time getting worse until I take it back for it's routine tighten (what a joke). Until this weekend. Was helping a mate move as his apartment flooded (guess he has worse problems than me). So I was putting furniture, etc in the back. Not huge loads, but a load none the less. Now, it is ridiculous. Loud creaks and knocks, 100 times more frequent. Any sort of bumpy road, you'll know about it with these noises. It's bloody hard to explain, but just imagine someone under the car whacking the rear axle with a block of wood. Best description I could think of. This is the big one that is bothering me now (among so many other noises).
  4. Yup, that's what the suggested to me. I have a scratch on my wheel, and they said "your axle is bent, I noticed there is a scratch, maybe you hit a gutter"... I think I know when I hit a gutter. The scratch was from a stupid narrow car park ramp. Wonder how I'm going to fight this.
  5. I have a manual. It's noisy and clunky as. But I still prefer it over an auto. Was considering the auto just for drive-ability and performance, but knew I would just get bored. Go with your heart and not your head.
  6. Hey mate just thought I'd let you know, I have a squeak coming from the rear. Ford tightened the handbrake cable and it has gotten a lot quieter. However when I picked up the car, they said I too have a bent rear axle. Mine is also lowered, but I doubt it would affect the axle?
  7. Ford mats are good. I have an XR50T so floor mats came standard.
  8. Well it's a question of whether performance is important to you or not? If you're on a tight budget then a turbo probably isn't for you, because along with the extra premium for the car, you have to pay more for insurance, and petrol, etc.
  9. All good. So 7k extra was for a new car with the extras and auto? Well that makes more sense then. I wonder what the difference would be for a similar k's model? That's what I want to do.
  10. Fair enough. I'm not in a position to question your life and choices, but may I ask, if you're not financially in a top position, then how come you're purchasing a new car? I know there are obvious reasons for having a new car. But if you wanted a turbo, you didn't consider second hand? 7k is a bit much for a transmission change. I was hoping it would be less. Any year, km difference between the two cars?
  11. Hey mate couple of questions. How old was your other ute? Was it financed? Bought new through a Ford dealer? What was the change over difference? Not being a cop haha, I'm just interested in doing the same thing. Except trading my ute for a sedan of same model etc.

Thanks for the responses. Ill speak to my dealer when she's in for a service and keep the thread updated. Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk

    Ute For Sedan

How does my lease come in to play here though? Never been on a lease before so I'm not up to speed with the specifics.

    Ute For Sedan

Yeah I'll be speaking to my same dealer. As slippery as they are, he's a semi decent guy (for a salesperson). Utes carry better resale don't they? Also considering it's optioned up, and has the 2.5k hard cover as well.

    Ute For Sedan

I have an August 10 XR50T Ute that is financed. 8 months on, I love the car, but I realised that I may have made a mistake with my choice, as a sedan would be way more practical for me, especially in the long run. I only wanted a ute to carry music equipment, which I know I could easily fit into a sedan. Basically, just in general, will dealers do trades in these circumstances without f**king me over on the difference? I realise the sedans cost more so yeah. The ute only has 14000ks on it. All I care is it's a sedan turbo and manual. Not looking for a brand new car obviously. Is this absurd? Or is it something that does happen? Anyone in the know, let me know what I'd be up for. Cheers.
