  1. hey there im no expert but can only go off my own expirience.... Mmmmmmy own 2010 FG with under 1000km on clock I noticed oil leaking from just about every connection in the intake. I was told by Ford service said that its common, though they replaced the 1000km old sh*tty ford clamps with more sh*tty ford clamps.. No suprise the leaks continued. When asked them about actualy finding/fixing the sourcer rather than bandaid(ing) it with new clamps in an attempt to keep the oil in, I was told by Ford service (I quote) "untill the car can be seen blowing smoke its not a warrantable concern..." My less than a month old - 41k investment now seemed less exciting to say the least! Im not sure on the cause of this exessive oil contamination in MY FG, though my ol BF didnt pump anywhere near the oil into the intake piping as the Stock new FG did, (nor did my BA for that matter) despite the BF being moderately boosted 320rwkw for 3yrs and for over 150,000km! In my asking around I did have someone from garret agree and say the problem is common yes, though it isnt a garret product issue, rather its an installation issue.. ie the instalation of the turbo charger by ford onto the FG 4.0ltr I6 isnt proper????? A little puzzled I asked for examples... The FG turbo drain is smaller than BA BF and is infact tooo small????? The crank case breather(s) and/or PCV on the FG are also questionalble causing excessive crankcase build up, this causing the oil drain to also have draining issue?? apparently possibly causing the turbo to back log with oil and crank case gases etc back logging the turbo... ??? Also the oil pressure on the FG is higher hence the change to a smaller stronger bodied oil filter? That said I have in my travels asked around various tuning shops and yes its common on FG to find exessive oil in the intake pipes if not all of them. So I felt I had no option was forced to run an after market pipe kit to keep the oil in and now at 7000km old it is obvious the oil level on my engine dipstick is falling. I should point out the air intake to my FG turbo charger is bone dry. There is zero oil contamination leading into the turbo intake...like my BA and BF, they have all ran dry in this area.. proving the ol 4.0 I6 is a tough one... ill get the turbo off and have it rebuilt at my cost I suppose. If that doesnt cure it ill make a custom oil drain though the flange sizes will limit this. Pretty sad fact on a 2010 7month 7000km old (or should I say new) vehicle. Though the responses I got at ford service was as quoted at the top of my post Ill remove the inline filter also when I rebuild the turbo. I feel that tiny tiny gauze biro size filter has no positive purpose. It did caused 1 turbo charger failure in my BF, due to not having a FORD service interval. Anyway long live the Ford I6 Sorry for the ramble... This was going to be a quick post! Cheers
  2. I had this sent to me via the email a today. I must be on mail list after I bought an item few weeks back Thanks
  3. Boostn was talking about this thread dude.. Not once were the words cheap, junk and crap used in this thread untill your post... Just like boostn said nor was 500rwkw used in this thread.. Chill out, its all good. As Hiro said, competition is good for the end user. It helped me make my decision. Thanks
  4. I ordered my pwr fg cooler off luke@pwr. . The piping and intercooler are seperate part numbers, so I bought the cooler first and a few weeks later bought the pipe kit. It was 990 for cooler and 825 for the black powder coated pipe kit with all clamps and all silicon. Or less a few bucks for both at once. I fitted the cooler on the garage floor in an hr going steady. No hoist. All slid up from under neath. The cooler came with fitting instructions and was pretty simple to fit. The pipes took about an hour also. They came with fitting instruction too. Also done on the garage floor. Thanks
