  1. Yep guys posting before are correct. It looks like the transmission cooler (mounted on the side of your radiator) has blown allowing the transmission oil to mix with the coolant. Can be a costly repair indeed...
  2. Hi there, I have had the same problem and after doing some research, I was pointed in the direction of the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). I changed this and the problem still exists, but not as bad as before. My symptoms include the car running really rough, like it is running on 3 cylinders, and I immediately switch it off and back on again and the problem disappears.
  3. Hi there, I had a siimilar problem in the last fortnight, and I found that one of my engine mounts had snapped! also the rough idle was in the tune. Spiro at Autotech Engineering spent a bit of time diagnosing it and found that one of my spark plugs had a bigger gap then the rest and that it also needed a tune. Car is awesome now and responsive! it also made more power...
  4. Hi EvilDaifu, thanks very much for the awesome directions about changing the light globes. One small thing to consider/add maybe to advise about keeping a charge to the cars electrical system. Have heard that sometimes when the battery is disconnected for an extended period of time, the computer doesn't like it and the car goes into limp mode? I connected a battery charger to the positive and negative terminals as I removed the battery and everything was fine. Forgot to mention that I purchased my Philips globes off Ebay from a company called Blingwork Auto Lighting, and they were very good to deal with.
  5. That sounds right actually, mine sat for a long time at 16.4L, but it has gone down to 16.1. This all depends on how you drive the car. What MiKa said is correct, a tune would definitely help, but the downside is that the car might go better and then you are constantly booting it!!!
  6. Hi there, I have had a similar problem with Point 1. Question, how much fuel is in the tank? I'm guessing it is at about half or just under? the reason being is that the engine is starving of fuel and it is sending air through the fuel line. You will probably need a surge tank, as the BA's have a really poor design fuel tank.
  7. Hi there, I have dealt with John in the past and had a few issues that weren't resolved. He just wanted to Tune the car and see me on my way. My initial issues were still there. Suggest you plan what you want from the car and plan for it. I have now dealt with Spiro from Autotech Engineering and he is not cheap ($770 per tune) but he resolved the issues. Depending on how much power you want to make - safely, you will need to spend some money first (Pazzo and Paulie2256 suggested) exhaust, injectors, fuel pump. Be careful wth the Auto though, as you start to make more power their life span decreases dramatically.
  8. Hi there, I just went through dramas with after market coils and they gave me nothing but trouble! they were not the ones you are talking about, but my car was missing when boosting. I swapped them out for a genuine set over the weekend and it is resolved my issue. All that is left now is to have the bigger tune put back into the car...
  9. I just got my car back from Dominellos and it is great! The box shifts firmer and I'm getting ready to put a good tune back into it...
  10. Hi there, I just purchased an XR6 turbo and had dealt with this problem yesterday. The issue is that there is a transmission cooler located in the standard radiator. This internal transmission cooler blows and releases transmission fluid into your radiator. This needs to be replaced ASAP. You need to get a new radiator fitted - preferably with a stainless steel transmission cooler. The gearbox needs as much cooling as possible so it's best to leave this and the external one if fitted. You will also need to change top and bottom radiator hoses (as they have had oil through them)and get the gear box serviced ASAP and flushed with new transmission fluid added.
