Push started fine.

Damn thing just did it again at te petrol station. After working fine for a good 10 starts. I decide to get petrol and I can't get it going. Annoying. Now it won't crank at all. Can here what sounds like a solenoid. Plenty of battery. Starter motor like possum suggested?

Yeah, Ill give a tuner a ring, see who has done a conversion. Im sure the BA ecu is fine with a BF motor, but the last thing I want is trouble with this motor. It wouldnt hurt to book it in now any ways, most places have a long wait. Im sure this wont be the last I see of this problem.

Just took it for a good half hour of driving in traffic. Got home and tested to see if it would have same problem. But starts fine. The mystery continues...

So that rules out the ba / bf thing. edit: Did you have the tune changed with the X3 aftewards ?

Havent changed a thing to the tune between motors. I really didnt think it would be needed between a BA - BF. Even worse news, I cannot find my X3 anywhere. I have an obd scanner that will work with my iphone for codes.

I havent checked for error codes yet. Good idea though.

Hi Guys, My ute has been through a fair bit of crap lately. Been off the road for maybe as long as 8 months. Put a 06/06 motor in it. Backyard job. Was driving fine, sounded good. Felt good. Wasnt rev'ing it past 3 grand at all. Wanna get it a custom tune before I give it a hiding. Today first day on road, only just got it registered. So this was the longest its been driven in months, only a 20 minute drive at that. (short drives to and from blue slipper etc before this). Was reversing in the drive way, it stalled. And wont kick over. Motor will half attempt to crank, the crank pulley maybe turns a third rotation. Its a new battery, and ruled that out with a jump start. same result. One thing in my mind, due to cooking the old motor im pretty paranoid about the temps. When I was driving it, if I stopped at some lights, I would notice the needle would move higher, once car was moving, it would quickly drop. Maybe only 1.5 mm of movement at most. Temp didnt go over half way. Pretty devestated, I had planned on driving it non stop all day :( I have a small suspicion that once it cools down completely, it'll crank. Will give that a go in a few hours. Any thoughts would be great.

I have to replace a lot of stuff I only just bought. I'm open to swapping my .7 for a .5.
