    Being honest, it's probably a bit boy racer for me. The plazmaman turbo side is noisier than the p/west version I believe because of the custom silicon so it might be ok for most. My son loves it though and I do think the bay looks cleaner without the crossover. It does sound mad coming on boost. The spool is nuts If you want it to be 'stealthy' or keep it pretty civilised then no, don't do it. It doesn't piss me off enough to change it. It's just those times when you're cruising and don't want to be in race car mode that it feels a little unrefined.

  6. Gunna, I'm president of an INC car club mate. We do plenty of properly run events with good turnouts. When you have financial members you don't have those issues. As for anything powercruise, it's too busy and expensive for what you get by comparison to other options. Most of the decent cars are strip spec running around on skinnies doing skids for sh*ts and giggles. It's of no interest to me.

  8. Definitely not going mate. I was meaning you end up parked most of the time queuing up. Don't have that issue at the other events.
  9. Prefer Torque Time & Downshift these days Gunna. Unless you've got a pit for any powercruise event you just end up melting in the car park.
  10. Just changed the Penrite out for Nulon again but this time went with the 5W40 fully syn as recommended by them. It was quieter in the valve train at start up but the big test will be tomorrow when I do a dead cold start. What it was doing was start pretty quietly then if you left it idle it would get what sounded like a lifter ticking around cyl 5 or 6 for a minute or so, until it got some temp. After that, quiet. I had thought it was a loose mani nut but no joy.
  11. My powdercoater actually wants to go to the trouble of masking the fins god love him. I think it will look better if he still does a light blow over though.
  12. Have gone with the black treatment on the header tank and ecu cover and am considering this on my PWR cooler to match now. Not worried about the tanks but am a little concerned about power coating the core. It would only need a light blow over I guess. The other option is to do the tanks but in a silver finish which would be easier to maintain than the polished finish. Thoughts?
  13. Might do mine also. My noise is when stone cold. Initial start is silent then it starts tapping for like 2 minutes until I get some engine temp. It does sound more like over cyl 5 or 6 but that could be just transfer. Di yours do it all the time?

    Do we mean car or mods? If car, you can source a mk1 FGT now - admittedly with high klms but for low to mid teens. Mods as you know don't add much if at all. Yes my rig is one owner and under 60k but being realistic, I'd be lucky to pull 25k. Trade in average is 12.5 - 14k and private sale 16 - 18.5. Fkn ouchie!
