Little excited. Nitto Invos for rears next week. Got them for same coin pretty much as the KU39's so couldn't knock that back. Lets hope they live up to the hype.

It's just lucky for me their factory and fitting service is on the goldie. I'll be asking them to either fit a set of SSL that are in the 'higher' end range or, remove and compress the current set of SLs so it leaves with no more than 350 and hopefully settle at 345. Shouldn't have to run coil overs to get this right. Interestingly they did say that had an in between to cater for tow bars but dropped it.

When you consider the increments are meant to be 10mm less per stage - SL SSL and SSSL and the H/D tow bar drops it 5mm, how does SL which is meant to give you 350 without a tow pack end up 360? It doesn't add up via their own info. Anyhoo, have emailed them so will go from there. They're a good company so I'm sure will get it right in the end.

Checked this morning and like 358 drivers 355 passenger. Really was wanting a max of 350 - 345 once settled with the tow bar. Will have the trailer on it on Sunday so will measure again after that to see if they've come down some more.

Did a stupid thing today. Noticed the rear had dropped so did a measure. Was sitting at 330 -335mm ish static. Contacted kings and they said with a tow bar they normally run a SSL SL combo not SSL all-round as I have been running. Took it to them and they removed and tested. They had dropped around 5mm from the lower end range so replaced the springs FOC except for labour which was bugger all. When I picked the car up it did look a bit high but keep in mind it had dropped pretty low. Did a measure when I got home and holly fk 360mm! Had a bit under half a tank so went and filled it. Has come down to like 358ish but looks like a 4wd :( It think from memory stock was 365mm hub to guard. Looks like poo. Will hit them up for new SSL's tomorrow and I'll pay the labour again. Grrrrr. #coiloversdickhead

Read a few reviews and am leaning towards the Kumho's. Kmart Tyre & Auto stock them and...they say will beat any on-line price from an Aussie retailer. Will put that to the test tomorrow Best price I've seen so far for the rears is $250.

    Kumho ku39's or Falken Fk453's ?
  9. And, XYZ big brakes will clear rims that Brembos don't.
  10. Precise automatics in Beenleigh can do a decent BTR Gunna.
  11. Weather on the goldie atm. Washed the car yesterday and did a 3/4 ish detail by my standards. Had been fine all day. Took the car out for one quick 30min round trip last night and hosed down for like 30 seconds in one spot. Grrrrr
  12. Bee's nest? No seriously, I've got the same mate with no issues. A loose cat could rattle around but...advance tack weld the substrate from memory so shouldn't be that.

Yep, they'll be flogged out sure as eggs mate. Given you're running different cams I'd go the anti-pump ups.

Had an overnight cold start tap/knock over about number 5 or 6 inlet. When you'd first start the car it was normal. Then if you left it idle for about a minute, it started making the noise. Leave it running for a couple of minutes after that and as it started to warm up the noise went away. At any time after that if you started it throughout the day - no issues. Since the firmer springs went in, you'd here the valve train starved for oil for a split second on cold start. Even prior to the new HLA's going in, it would still sound a bit noisy in the valve train until it got a bit of temp into it. Cold start this morning, it had no split second starvation noise and of course the tap/knock is completely gone. Also, the valve train sounds exactly the same straight after fire up through to when it gets temp. Quiet as a church mouse now. Also given my previous camshaft problems, I'm pleased to report they were spot on with no abnormal signs of wear - pit marks etc. The engine still looks pristine inside. The PAC racing springs are 100lb installed seat so they're effectively working the adjusters near twice as hard. If you get one that's already feeling the pinch, it will and in my case did, throw in the towel. It really did sound sinister like a rod was wanting to say hello. But...bent things don't normally come good with heat. OEM are ridiculous at $88 a pop but that includes a new rocker. No, Ford wont separate them. So, $2112 dollars please sucker I mean sir, lol. TBRE supplied Nason ones for a shade under $200 a set delivered. He uses them in all his builds as do spool imports in their packages. The anti-pump ups are also very good buying at around $500 from memory but Tony said I don't need them with stock camshafts and I trust his judgement. I have it on good authority that the Atomic ones are the identical units. Lets face it, it's not like everybody manufactures them. If they were good enough in a 1000hp 8 second Barra, I think they'll be fine for me

  19. Newman's defeat is a massive fail on all levels. I honestly think people are getting a shorter fuse as they get pushed closer to the breadline. The gap between the have and have nots has never been wider. Look at my employer - GCCC. Our CEO is on 500k. 500k for a local govt CEO? Fkn ridiculous. Pollies all got recent pay rises based on 'independent' reviews but 20 thousand front line public sector workers get chopped or lost conditions under Newman. Then we had his leather phobia that triggered a knee jerk catch all legislation that denies people natural justice. Not saying the bikie crap didn't need to be addressed but he used it as a diversion imo. Should've been done in the background not beating his chest about it on a seemingly daily basis like a Sherriff from the old west. So I think the message to all pollies is firstly get your heads out of the trough and spend money and do stuff that actually matters to the average Australian.

Thanks to TBRE, I've got some new HLA's sorted. Ford wanted $88 each but that includes the rocker and you can't separate so...over 2k, lol. Can't understand why I didn't buy them haha
  21. E85 is the logical choice or porting the head and changing cams but that's big $$$ for not much return with the little GTX. Would love to see someone do it though.

Mate at 84 kegs it's hard to cut a great time but I've done 1:25s. Had a bit of a dud kart on Sunday and did 1.28 flat. My son at 60kg did a low 1:27 so chopped me for the day.
