The Aeroforce twin gauge kit looks awesome and better value. Can watch four things at once. Still an issue with mounting though as I'm not keen on the tissue box mount. I know it's a bit ricer but why is nobody doing a pillar mount?
  2. So what are you doing this week. Rebuilding the FG motor now with stock slugs and rods or....?

It's possible, but mine is a weekend warrior and I put my ctek charger on it regularly to top it up anyway. Old mate Bionic (Luke) fitted it today. Feels a bit more responsive and smoother. Power steer feels a little heavier at low engine speeds but no biggie. Glad I did it. Another piece of mind mod.

No. Balancer won't impact the tune.

Have read a bit about the spark booster. Seems to be of more benefit on the coyote. Getting balancer fitted tomorrow so another off the to do list. Don't mind spending a bit on it again now that it's running well.

Found a MUST have for the wish list. Aeroforce interceptor gauge. What a great bit of gear. Been looking at gauges for a while but wasn't keen on the top mount pod really. This is the answer though. Might do the tissue box mount or have a look for somewhere else.
  7. Do the BF motor. I'll give you $500 for the FG donk given it's farked
  8. Keep us updated. I've had a premonition of how this ends
  9. Gunna are u positive that price did not include girdle and main studs?
  10. Were you getting a girdle and main studs supplied by any chance in that build price as well Gunna? Tony normally uses ACL or King race bearings in his builds too.
  11. Doesn't matter if you think the crank is in 'perfect condition'. What you've been quoted is balancing the entire rotating assembly with new slugs and rods and meat pulled out of the crank counterweights to suit. This isn't backyard rebuild on 186 red motor. If you want a quality bottom end mate then pay the money to one of the most respected engine builders going around. Or, just keep the train wreck going. Plenty have given you advice to try and help but you keep second guessing or go around in circles.

Bought a Powerbond 20% under driven Balancer kit today. My tuner isn't a fan of the OEM units once making a bit of power. Will have it fitted before next track squirt at QR on the 24th.

Pretty sure tune would need to be adjusted if you fit the hi-flow reg. Get one though and get it trimmed up. I love this thing of mine now sorted. It absolutely hammers
  17. When did u call Tony? I have never had a problem getting through. He is still you best go the get it up to spec.
  18. Yes, unfortunately. Should have added, "rolling contact fatigue". One thing on that. My springs (as most do at 300 ish) had float. One theory is if you're on the cusp, valve float will compound the problem as the valve train 'chatters'. Not all lobes had issues. In fact, most cams have only displayed symptoms on some lobes - often cylinders 5 and 6. Since I've fitted the PAC Springs and donor CAMS, there is no further signs of wear. They were checked recently when I replaced the HLA's. I still use Nulon fully syn but have gone to their long life 5W-40. Anyway, hopefully we'll have the full findings soon.
  19. If it wasn't the fact ford were pulling the pin, I think there could be enough pressure applied to force a recall. The analysis isn't complete but the most likely outcome is "uneven depth and hardness" in the case hardening.
