Interested in what the Nizpro boys thoughts were on the GTX76

Yep, they are so under braked standard. I get the lure of power up first - I did the same. But, first track day and watching from the pits like 5 laps in, made me realise how far from perfect it was as a package.

For those that have had their 'addiction' for several years and have done a reasonable amount of modifications, I thought it might be timely and informative to 'rate' your mods and maybe list what you'd do different time over. With my car, I think my best modifications are the Brembo + PBR upgrade, PWR ZF cooler (given the constant milkshake worry) valve springs and GTX3576R. What would I do different? Tough one, but I'd go a bigger intercooler straight up, full exhaust instead of the double hit with the hi-flow cat then upgrade, debatable whether I'd go turbo side again and go the bigger injectors straight up instead of doing the F6 ones then ID1000's Look, plenty do stuff twice and I'll admit you get sucked in thinking you need the biggest and best of everything to extract reliable power out of these things. The reality is, you don't.

I'm at a loss why it failed - both surfaces were clean and it was locked off correctly. Tape or another cap as tether is a good idea. I won't ever risk it again.

Great timing. I just destroyed my Hero3+ last week because the suction mount failed. When I replace it I'll be using a tether. And yes, mine was the genuine 150mph rated one!

Yep. Short but want sump etc also. Basically, everything except head and manifolds

Old thread but looking at this again. Like the way arronm's set up is done. I don't have a surge so could fit in that area. If anyone has some pics of their set-ups I'd love to see them.

My stock balancer was still ok but...my tuner really dislikes them when making a bit of power. Mine does feel a little bit more responsive with the powerbond unit fitted too. Good work taking it on yourself. Quick tip for those trying to crack the bolt. I don't know which relay it was but Bionic the clever bugger used the starter to crack it with a long extension against the passenger side rail as he'd done another balancer in the morning and broke his power bar in the process - doh! I held the socket and extension in place the he jumped the starter from the fuse box a couple of times and it undid it for us - win! No starter out or lock the crank required. Sorry I didn't get this info to you beforehand as it would've saved you some punish.

Got recommended Winmax W3. Anyone tried them?

^^^ will never happen. only would recall safety issue :( We'll probably all end up with Crow or aftermarkets if they all go to sh*te.

Investigation not complete however professional opinion of my chopped up cams thus far is.. "I feel it's a combination of uneven depth and hardness of the induction hardened laying and rolling contact fatigue" Translated that means the case hardening is sh*t. If you've got close or have experienced float, you may be getting 'chatter' also. I don't think a quality oil - semi or fully syn has got jack sh*t to do with it. Soft springs and dodgy hard casing though, another story IMO.

What's old is new again, lol. Chasing replacement pads for the brembo fronts. The QFM A1RM's did serve me well in the taxi brakes so maybe that's the go again

I've messaged them but don't hold out much hope. Meant to be rated to 150mph - pffft. Really disappointed. Got a track day this Sunday. Given the mount is gone also it's around a $500 process to replace :( could go through insurance but I think that's my excess anyway. Think I'll be without for a looong time unfortunately.

Suction cup mount failed. Checked it as I always do and felt secure as. Slowly fed in and nailed it coming on to an on ramp and it gave up. We had live view on the at the time so my Son knew approximately where it fell off. By the time I was able to get back to it (about 5-10 minutes) then spent the next 45 minutes looking for it, somebody had run over it also :( Only thing I salvaged was the SD card. To rub salt in, the file was corrupted also.

Destroyed my Hiro 3+ Black this arvo. Gutted :(

Revving over 5 grand might fix it

Has heaps more crackle and pops on decel and last night I saw some flashes in the mirror. Will get someone to follow and confirm but I think she's spitting flames

^^^ cryo input shaft and tune but if going that far you may as well do new/better frictionals also. So....3 - 10k depending on where u take it.
