Thought this was a good comparison to show in particular the low down spool of GTX3576R v GTX3582R. Both cars tuned by Profile. Of note, my car is making 750Nm at 2750rpm - the 82R vehicle 550Nm. At 3,000rpm I'm making more power also. At 4,000rpm the bigger legs are making 25rwkw more and then big strides to redline. The 82R was also running E85.

news just in..... gtx3576r are awesome!!

The general consensus thus far - which is great to see, is people enhancing many aspects of the car not just engine performance. Those that did first up (myself included) quickly work out how deficient the car is with taxi brakes. Granted not everybody does the odd track day sprint but...no point going more mumbo if you don't pick up other areas in my opinion. Throw into the mix the dodgy factory ZF cooler, crappy oil feed setup to turbo plus pathetic rear diff bushes, and you start to get a picture of stuff (post warranty if you choose) that you'll need to seriously look at. But, persevere and address this things and you'll end up with a truly awesome car. I'm concentrating more on reliability improvements now such as adding an engine oil cooler, head studs, oil pump gears and eventually ZF rebuild.

Ok, got some more info from PWR today and don't think the water-to-oil option is going to work. They really need decent flow so ideally are plumbed via the main hose from the radiator. We don't have a lot of room down there and don't like the idea of reconfiguring the main radiator hose. So..back to looking at an air-to-oil mounted in a suitable spot with thermo + switch.

^^^ Yes it would be in series and through the oil cooler first. You're correct about the T. You actually won't need any if plumbed in series. Just some joiners or segment the hose and a reroute to complete the circuit. You're basically just pumping coolant through another vessel in line. What happens internally within the oil compartment other than transfer is inconsequential.

Water plumbing is easy as. Tee off the lines to the ZF cooler so two of them and six clamps - job done. Would want to keep it mounted as close to the oil filter as possible to keep the oil feed lines short so will have a look at that soon - preferably on a hoist. Given this option requires no electrics it would be a pretty simple install if engineered right. I'd want it to be the same quality as their exchanger so basically OEM neat. Now, I've just got to find and ideal spot to mount the sucker and I've ruled out the left rail near firewall already, so people running surge tanks could use it also.

Called into PWR today. They confirmed someone has already tried to fit the b series kit without success. They do some water oil options - not dissimilar to the ZF exchanger. The advantage with them is that they're more compact and no electrics required but would require a water re-plumb as well as the sandwich plate. Basically, a remote (installed off engine) and much more efficient version of the F6 oil cooler. Initially I dismissed this but after thinking about it some more I'll take a look at some mounting options and get my head around possible water plumb options. And before anyone starts, yes I'm aware of the potential contamination issue (as is the case for factory fit F6 version) but I'll back PWR's product as I've done with the ZF exchanger. Same advantage here - controlled temps.

Was just looking at some intercooler pics tonight and have often wondered how you get a 3" cold side pipe through the radiator support panel. I'm thinking maybe the plastic pieces that the pipes pass through can be unbolted? I didn't need to do mine with the 76mm pipes but I'm just curious. If it's the case, I might remove them when I take the cooler off for p/coating. If someone could confirm that would be great.
-
I think the sandwich plate has a different thread or something too so it can take the smaller filter. Someone might be able to confirm that.

Calling into PWR hopefully tomorrow to talk to them about an FG engine oil cooler kit. I like the way they've done the B series version. Will offer to use my car to mock-up if they're interested in producing it. If they're keen we might look at a group buy or something.

You've got to feed it in. I never really open it right up until into third or I'll short shift second then wind third out. It's about sensible throttle management really. I certainly rate these much better than the Federal 595 Evo's that these replaced. I don't think they'd be invo sticky but...are near silent and brilliant in the wet too (not that the car sees much rain, lol) and super comfortable. Very nice street tyre imo.

Other than the borg warner options that nobody seems to talk about already, I just think the GTX76 is damn hard to beat for a point to point streeter. At QR on Sunday, I barely lost a sprint. Nobody destroyed me. The only ones that were quicker came on a trailers. Best thing though imo, is they drive so damn nice. Virtually no lag - power on tap instantly. You'll never earn dyno bragging rights with one but you will win most sprints and...not kill the rest of the car in the process.

Forgot I did the flex plate. Went the Pitlane reinforced jobbie and ARP bolts. Hi Mick The other must have I forgot to mention and I think was my first mod, was the Earls filter kit for the turbo supply line. Some will say just pull the factory strainer which is better than nothing but...having the remote filter is a better option.

Great to see even the younger brigade investing in some better stoppers. It really is a must to pull up 1800 kegs of barge.

Torque Time this morning at QR - first outing with the new tune. The car ran strong and hardly lost a sprint. Several came up after wondering what combo I had because they were astounded how quickly the car accelerated. It's a fantastic rig. Takes a very quick car to beat it point to point. The only couple that did arrived on trailers Power is fine. Reliability from here is the focus. I'm actually pretty chuffed with how the car is turning out despite the many hurdles
