What people ask and what people get are a different story. BA's xr6t now go anywhere from 12k to 15k , the bfs 18-25k , depending on condition. Your car sounds real good though with nice low khs though , Just keep it. Or put a price you want for it and do not budge but it may not sell at all , may take 6 months or you could get someone who really wants it and is willing to pay your price (unlikely though).

Hey Nathen , I'm in South West Sydney.....believe it or not I was actually going to pm you asking if you could but I did not want to be out of line or anything. I have had a VX SS before and the thing was a nugget until it opened up near 90-100khs but still really overrated , I love the B series in regards to the looks etc and everyone I come across say's they are very very quick cars , me personally have never been in and I will test drive one that I will buy to see how it compares to my previous SS. Always been a ford fan from the EB and EL , Had both of these cars in the family and the I6 is so reliable. If you could take us for a run mate that would be really good of you. I can get a car worth 20k so that would be the BF or a VZ SS BUT that means borrowing 10k and having to pay that back and currently im working but it is by no means secure (Plus I would need to insure it (23 just off my p's). So I was looking at getting a good quality BA which you can get for 12-13k but I am going to give it a absolute hiding and if the 4 spd gear box wont handle it and I run into problems it would of been better getting the BF as I would need to repair the things on the BA. Thanks lozza. I will get a auto and want a BF but it all comes to to funds , if I can only afford a ba auto is it really a huge mistake getting a ba with the 4spd auto? a accident waiting to happen in regards to problems with the quality of it? Thanks bud

What are ways you can strengthen it? Tran mission coolers? Anything else I should know? If it is strengthen can you still do big work to it ?

ZF better then the 4 spd?

The BA's are a lot cheaper then the BF's. Will prob save for the 6 speed ZF auto gearbox as I have heard great reports for it.

Hi I am from Sydney. In the process of saving for a BF MK11 XR6T preferably stock. Love the look of the B series in the fords. Hoping to purchase it before oil runs out and all high performance cars cannot be ran :D

Good post. Also WORM did you get heaps of problems with the cops with your turbo? the same as the rice burners do?

Did you have alot of problems with your BA? they really that bad?

Cheers alot fellas for the replys I really appreciate it , huge xrt6 fan but dont know much about them. I will end up getting the BF series 1 and leave it stock until I can mod it. At the moment the bf's are about 3-4k extra and as they say....you get what you pay for. I prefer the SS interior and SS dash , but the turbo can be modified for cheap and I want that power off the line , 5.7ltrs tend to build up speed and by the time it starts getting good your 40k's over the speed limit and in my case in someones front yard. How do the stock turbos go , would it beat a stock ss? cheers

Quick question in relation to mods - So if I buy a stock ba xr6t and want to put a boost stage controller on , I buy the kit from somewhere I think they around $600 or so? then take to to a tuning place , they do it and dyno it so it is all set would the ba gear box handle it? also would I need to open up the zorst and extractors for full potential? Just want to know if you can do a minor thing like that or if you have to do the rest so its stable. Cheers

Cheers Nathen. How many km's has your car had now? The ba's are real cheap now , about 10 of them on carsales for 12-15k. Nathen since you own one and have experiance with them would you recomend to get the ba mk1 xr6t with lowish km's (lower then 100 or not much higher) and just spend the rest on mods? Or buy the bf?? Also is there any different exterior stuff with the ba and bf eg headlights or whatever?? Thanks mate

Cheers for replys so far. Im in sydney and I will be patient , cant drive a turbo till october anyway so I will save and get a BF xr6t. It was either a turbo or a vy ss , I love the interior of the SS and the dash I think its better then the XR but for raw power off the line and low down grunt the xr6t is better you guys reckon?

So with the auto ba1 and ba2 there is very little difference? but the good "zf??" gearbox is in the bf?
