Hey Guys, Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with removing the centre muffle from an Xr6t before? Seems like a cheap muffler mod for $50 worth of piping, and it apparently gives a nice deep tone... If anyone else has any other little mods to improve sound, glad to hear them! Im in cheap DIY mod-mood. Cheers in advance.

Call a place in Sydney Called FordPro, they have a huge amount of parts, and if they dont have it, they can probs source it for way cheaper than ford will ever get it for. I got a BA xr8 bonnet for $500, brand new. really good guys, easy to deal with etc.

Spotted Blue xr6t FG, black rims, looked sweet and was repping with Fordxr6turbo.com stickers, near Rydalmere. I think rego was RIK***. :S also might have had a tunehouse sticker. Anyone?

Hey All, I just got a Sports bar for the ute, Just wondering how hard it would be it fit it myself, as I can see no existing holes etc... Or would it be worth while getting a pro job? Cheers Gypo.

Hey guys, a great [relaxing/if u want intense] drive is Galston gorge down to Wiseman's ferry. from there you either cross the river or just chill-out. if you cross its another two hours and a bit hours around to get back to sydney, though that bit is a little sketch. its a great drive, and even at the speed limit its really good. Couple of mates did it a few weeks ago, really good fun, good level of danger, speed and safety. as long as everyone is smart about it, its a really good night out. another suggestion is take a bbq on the back of a ute, cook something down the bottom, have a couple of drinks [non-alcoholic] , check out some cars etc.

Yer, I mean the module, I got quoted $200 from the wreckers, not too bad.

Hey guys, Recently while driving, both my (ABS) and Brake failure - ( ! ) lights came on on my dash. Its been on for little while, and sometimes it goes away if I restart the car. Im a little concrened as after significant driving the brakes smell. Just wondering if anyone else has had this, and how much I should expect to pay a mechanic, or if I can resolve it myself. Just to be clear, I havent lost the ability to effectively brake, it just smells and the lights are a little disconcerning :S Thanks in advance, Gypo.

AJJ, No idea how to check the waste gate :D sorry I cant help you there. And dustyn, that's not my engine bay :D I quickly got it off the net. But ive got 170000 on the clock, and its still pretty clean! Makes a difference when you pop the hood though, and its clean as a whistle. Gypo

Is this the one that goes into the Rocker Cover ? The little breather looking device with a tube that runs down to the intake manifold ? Pete -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pete, I believe that that's an oil breather, similar to ones in Hondas. Im thinking it the one you can see as soon as you open the engine bay? AJJ, I talked to another mate, and I may be something to do with your waste-gate. Also, if you've just gotten a new Air box panel filter, it may just be letting in more air as its clean, thus the waste-gate won't release quickly enough, thus you get the 'tututu'. By the way, if the sound is a 'chuuuu' that's not your waste-gate. When you open the engine bay, and you cant actually see any hoses loose, just listen for a small vacuum sound. If you can hear it, well obviously a hose it loose :D In the end, it shouldn't do any real damage, so ive been told by a mate of mine who used to work on BA's and BF's. Ive attached a picture with what I think Pete is talking about, and where the vacuum hose is that I mentioned in my first post. Its tucked right in behind the intake, and its quite hard to get to. Hey AJJ, At the top of your engine, nearest the windscreen, on the back of the black part, labelled "Turbo Intercooled", there's a little tube that acts as a natural sort of blow off. If u take it off the nipple, you start to get the blow off sound, which is the turbine cutting up the excess air which isnt being recycled by that piping. Ive been told by several mechanics that there is no damage to the turbine, and if u want to get rid of the sound, the hose needs to be securely on the nipple. I found out about this when I got my car back from service. Sometimes they forget to reattach the little vacuum hose. Personally I quite like the sound, gives it a little bit of oomph when your driving. Ive been driving for a couple of weeks with the hose off, and whenever people hear it, they smile and comment on it. Hope this helps! P.s. My first post
