    BRISBANE CRIUSE

Is that a good or a bad thing? Trent.
  2. Personally I feel that more focus needs to be placed on the licensing system. Take the learner permit setup for example - answer a few multiple guess questions and your done. Even though you can only drive under supervision this is hardly an adequate safeguard. Although it is a very touchy subject I don't think that anyone should be allowed on the public roads without successfully completing a defensive driving course. Look at the worst driver tv shows that are on from time to time, I know these are obviously the worst drivers that the producers could come across but I bet it is a fair cross section of the general public. On another note I think Brisbane is becoming renowned for harbouring the worst drivers in the country, but I read an interesting article a few months back about the Qld government thinking that they are doing the right things in making our roads safer by widening lanes etc, but in actual fact it is making drivers lazy and having the opposite effect. Anyway, that’ll do for now. Trent.
  3. I would say they do work - my brother's dog goes crazy whenever he switches it on!! Not sure if you would want a couple of speakers hanging off your front bumper though. Trent.
  4. Hey, me too. Freakish coincidence! Trent.
  5. naturally aspirated - as in no turbo ramming air down its throat!
  6. Sorry for digging up an old post - but what is happening with the club scenario, has it been dropped all together or is it pending further investigation. While I'm only a new kid on the block (only had the T for 4 days) I'd be more than willing to assist in any club matters and given that I actually work for one as well may help a little. Trent.
  7. I think you can still get these - but only if you ask for them. I noticed the choice between 'smart' and 'sunshine' on the rego form the other day, but who in their right mind would opt for the former? Trent.
  8. I would have to agree with you - don't get me wrong I think these are great cars and extrmely jealous that I can't afford one myself, but I wouldn't class the interior as the best I've seen!

    GTP Wagon

Even saw a xr6 on the western freeway a few weeks back with fpv on his personlised number plates - why bother? Trent.
  10. Adam, Have you had any luck with diff replacement under warranty - as I was about to attempt this next week. At this stage you can only notice it on quiet roads with the stereo down low, but I'm sure that it will be getting progressively worse. My main concern is that I will go through the same as my parents with their pajero - four diff replacements in 18 months, final solution was to upgrade to the current model. Trent.
  11. Caravans, don't get me started! Picture this scenario, you are travelling on a single lane highway towing a caravan; you decide that it is appropriate to travel no faster then 85 km\hour; there is around 30 cars stuck behind you and waiting for the next overtaking lane; you have the attitude that you pay rego like everyone else so you can do what you like on the road; because of this attitude you do not feel the need to pull over and let the traffic past. People like this cause rage roads and accidents, because people like me get very frustrated with inconsiderate morons and will usually resort to drastic measures to get rid of the problem - even if it means getting agro or taking greater risks than you normally would. Even I pull over to let people past and I am usually sitting just above the limit in any case. Until people learn to drive and gain consideration for their fellow motorists then there will be no end to road rage, in fact I wouldn't mine guessing that it will only be getting worse. Trent.
  12. Not at all suffering from lack of height - quite the opposite actually. I think it is just what I was used to. Ask the same question in a few months though and the reply will be 'what foot rest' Come to think of it, it's probably better without it as when you wear size 14 shoes the pedal region can become quite cluttered. Trent.

    Is the "T" boring

There is this tosser Expensive Daewoo driver (I guess that is stating the obvious!) that lives around my area and we where lined up next to each other at the lights last night. Lights go green, I plant the foot and see him in my rear vision mirror so I backed off thinking he had chickened out. But as soon as I eased of on the revs I could hear him absolutely roaring to try and keep up. So I slowed down to under the speed limit anyway but he wouldn't go past me - me thinks I embarrassed him in front of his GF in the passenger seat. So I suppose you could say it is boring, but doesn't it feel great looking at all those cars in the distance in your rear vision mirror!
  14. Couldn't agree with the topic more, stepped out of the AU (farewell you good little thing) this morning and got into the BA and it just didn't feel right - kind of like wearing a shoe on only one foot! Oh well, sure I will get used to it. Trent

    Maiden Voyage

kt: thanks, I'm sure I will if I can avoid this nasty white vans that park on the side of the road! vik: of course, like you wouldn't believe (just in case she happens to read this at some stage) adam: will do, have to use the work camera at some stage, but I have noticed that it is slighty off centre - but you would be hard pressed to notice it anyway Trent
  16. Just picked up my ute today - and as much as I hate to admit it I can notice a slight noise between 95 and 100. Are there any other utes out there with this issue? Trent.

    Maiden Voyage

Picked up my new (well 6 month old demonstrator) T ute today. It is nothing short of amazing, in fact if I didn’t have company tonight my ass would still be planted firmly in the driver’s seat. It’s been hard to understand why all of my fellow forumers are so into their vehicles, but for the market segment that it fits in I have never driven anything better. Even though the XR8’s are great vehicles, the T just seems to be much more alert and on its toes and ready for action. As for the specs – Acid Rush paint, Heavy Duty Towpack, all else pretty much standard. Next – off to the dealer to get the noisy ventilation fan looked at! Trent

Only a new kid on the block, but it sounds like the makings for a great day so please count me in. Should be a great drive, and maybe while we are in Maleny we can go and hug a few trees and save a platypus or two!!! And Goldie, good to see you have good taste in choice of paint colour, obviously great minds think alike. Looking forward to it, Trent.
  19. In the middle of confirming my xr6t purchase, and yes the pretty little blonde is trying to ram this sh*t down my throat. The funny thing is though I screwed her down to $1200, and then she mentioned something about parcel shelf and back seats, but I didn't recall seeing these in my vehicle since it is a utility. With this is mind I told her if they did it for $800, given that you would expect a ute would be about 2/3 of the workload of a sedan I would take it. She will have to check with the boss and get back to me next week! Having read this thread they can shove it for anything over the $800 - thanks for the heads up guys!
