  1. I used to have one of those "drift" vented bonnets, should have kept it I pulled out the gearbox yesterday to add a spacer behind the csc as the crush was out and getting into gears (especially reverse which was near on impossible) was getting difficult. I highly recommend using a skateboard to aid in the process,
  2. I can't speak from experience as it's the first time I'd entered my own car but I think you could be right. Events are always trying to be made "safer" and that usually ends up with the fun police coming out harder. As with all car events there are people around that want what you have, last years PC at QR a very tidy R34 was stolen on the last day.
  3. ^^^Basically this It takes one idiot that thinks the rules don't apply to him to ruin it for the whole cruise session. There were cars that decided to drop their guts halfway down a straight (I get that sometimes sh*t happens and things break) and as a result detours are made around it cutting off half the track resulting in far too many cars on the track at once. Understandably the Saturday was busiest out of the 4 day event and of the 6hrs possible cruise time I was lucky to do 1hr 30mins. Just my reasons for not going back. I'd go to watch, just not enter my car. Plenty of other events (torque time, hi octane, downshift) to attend throughout the year instead.
  4. It's good. needs new clutch and some more kw's that's about it. Will never enter my ute in powercruise again. biggest waste of money & weekend.
  5. Probably gtx3576 or Pte6235 although your current turbo would be great too imo. I've had both a gtx3582 and now 6466, when the 6466 pulls it pulls like a freight train whilst lighting the rears but that's doing 150kph+ and to me it's no good on the street because that's a 'see you later car/license' scenario when caught. Other people will have their opinions but I only really enjoy my ute when it's at the track and I can stretch it's legs, 60 to 120kph spurts are alright but just the tip of the iceberg really and I'm not willing to throw my pride and joy away with the way laws and police/cameras get around these days.
  6. cost me $110 for powder coating fyi. I wish I had gone with a different colour, eg colour code with car, so Toxic. My only gripe with doing it with cans is it will scratch easily, but for the diy factor I see why you want to do it yourself
  7. clear tends to make paint look glossy? Unless that's what you're after?
  8. I thought na and turbo covers were the same, only the plastic is different between the two. I had mine powder coated black the other month, spray seems to scratch easily.
  9. I can second that. I dropped my exhaust on the ute from around that area, it seems the noise reverberates under the tub or something and my god it's loud, not even good loud
  10. thanks for the heads up! How can I go about shielding the bay & bonnet from the exhaust housing temp?
  11. Someone should tell Golbeys Parts as it came with it LOL. Also is falling a part. can you elaborate more Jetus?
  12. I had a bit of a spirited drive up Mt Glorious the other day, upon reaching the top I pop the bonnet and idle the car for a few minutes to let it cool down. This is what I saw.
  13. None unfortunately, but easy enough to get a box out on stands, just a bit tougher. K31th hahahaha, I had to edit the comment because when I had another look I saw I used stands at the back
  14. G-box swaps can be down with stands only.
  15. pro's: keeps heat in exhaust, keeps it out of engine bay. con's: you get surface rust (at least I did), I should mention that it doesn't bother me at all (mild steel)
  16. Over the last few weeks I've finally gotten around to getting everything I needed to swap covers to the fg style. Really happy with it It looks a lot more refined. Don't mind the bolts on top, fyi, bseries coil cover bolts don't fit
  17. I don't know of anyone personally that has used crows cams, however, I know plenty that use TBRE and Atomic, both sound unreal and regardless of power gains, sounds leaps and bounds better than taking a muffler out LOL
  18. 205,000km, bought it with 80 thousand. 13 year old ba
  19. I'm after a set of rota grids and came across a set of 18x9.5 +20 all round. Question is, how will they fill out the rear? wha'ts a good offset people go for to fill the rears with possible rolling of guards?
  20. thanks steve! I tried changing the links a few times with the edit function but the page kept timing out :/
  21. After reading about a few guys on here modifying their gear sticks for a more direct feel, I decided to give it a go as well. 11/10 recommend. A bit noisier but the feel and throw is incredible. The old man made the fittings up for me. It was also about time to replace the centre bearing as it was pretty well buggered and causing a vibration through the drive line. 22. Of yesterday? I didn't photograph any of it as was just power runs to see how it all was. If you're genuinely interested I could flick Jamie/John a msg and post one up I'm sure.
  23. should have kept with the fg cover, much nicer imo
  24. Sending the bonnet off shortly to get it coloured like the rest of the car, only 2 years later haha but as we all know, builds take a while! On another note, I took the ute to Jamie at FPT to put the car on the dyno to check how everything is going, I would have taken it back to RDP but it was a 2hr drive compared to 20mins and Jamie runs a tight workshop. I had taken the boost solenoid out last night to clean and hooked it up the wrong way ha! When we put it on the dyno it was therefore only running gate pressure, 12psi. Funnily enough, on e85 and 12 psi it made 399rwkw! not a bad effort I thought! Once Jamie fixed that up and replaced spark plugs (missing at 5k) it came off the dyno with 550rwkw @ 24psi. Happy Camper
