  1. My FG is due for a service next month and is still under warranty, so this is interesting to me. Just to clarify if there is in fact anything wrong with my car, the rear end noises that result from a faulty diff are not the same as the clunking noise when you jump on and off (mainly off) the throttle?? Thanks guys
  2. Had the exact same problem with mine, it is an august 09 build also. Took it back and they replaced the compressor. Have a new problem now, it is far more interesting, was driving around the other day and water shot out of the center console thing just left of clutch and sprayed all over my foot! further inspection revealed the carpet there is all wet too and it is dripping (sorry for lack of technical terminology), I assume it is aircon, but it still works just fine, taking it in tomorrow...again
  3. Hey guys I have an FG XR6T with Luxury pack and just recently, as in the last week to 10 days I have noticed that my drivers side seat is beginning to squeak as my weight shifts around the seat while driving. This is quickly becoming very annoying but I assume the springs are actually within the leather seat and therefore I have no idea as to what I could possibly do about it. Can anyone offer any advice for this? Could the cooler weather possibly have something to do with it? Is it likely to just go away or will it continue to happen until they are lubricated or something? Is there any simple fix I could do myself or should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks guys any help is greatly appreciated
  4. that's pretty poor Deebs1990 regardless of your age hey. I had just turned 20 when I ordered my FG XR6T but had been in contact with the dealership while I was 19. They most certainly knew my age from the beginning but nevertheless they treated me with the same repect I imagine they would have conveyed to a 30 or 40 something customer and I couldn't get away from them! Salesmen were literally lining up to serve me the first time I went to the dealership. They immediately memorised my name and my girlfriends name, took both our phone numbers and when they couldn't contact me, they would ring and even message her! The fact that this service was afforded to two 19 year old kids after only initially expressing a slight interest in the car is commendable. The vehicle delivery on the other hand...that is another story. They also showed real enthusiasm for the vehicle itself and seemed genuinely excited that I was considering one at my age. Age really should never jeaporadize customer service, last time I checked a 20 year old's hard earned is worth the same as a 40 year old's. Salesmen in particular should be able to determine who are prospective customers and who are wasting their time and once that distinction is made every customer should be treated the same. I guess the saleswoman you were unfortunate enough to deal with on that saturday had already reached her monthly quota!
  5. Yer mate that ute looks absolutely sensational! At least when all is said and done it will be worth the wait.
  6. I feel for you buddy that is terrible. Was told I would have to wait 4 weeks for my fg xr6t and ended up waiting 10, twice they told me it would definitely be there on a certain date only to be told that it wasn't. Was devastated the first time, pissed off the second time and didn't even believe them/wasn't even that excited anymore when they told me it had finally arrived. On a side note, what colour etc is your new F6, am interested to know what you feel makes it 'a little different'? Best of luck bud
  7. I drove the auto and the manual (in that order) when buying my FG XR6T. I clearly remember the speed and smoothness of the ZF, but when I drove the manual I felt far more comfortable and loved feeling like I could exert all this influence over the car. In the end I chose the manual. I think the fact that I was only 20 had a lot to do with the decision, I had come from a manual BF XR6 so it was all I knew and I had read a lot of articles saying the days of the manual transmission were almost over so I figured this may be one of my last chances to learn how to REALLY drive a manual and what better car to do it in than my epic new XR6T. Now 12 months on I don't regret my decision at all. Yes it sucks in heavy traffic but its a small price to pay considering how much I love my car and just love getting out and driving it anywhere! Am well used to all the sounds the gearbox/clutch makes underneath me now, have learned how to baby it so all clunking noises go away when I want and when going hard its the last thing on my mind, can't even hear it over the note! And besides a mate has a new Bogan special manual and it makes all the same noises (which made me feel a lot better). So in the end its up to you hey bud, test them both and make the call, they both go ridiculously hard. Meanwhile I will keep loving my manual, downshifting hard into corners, blipping the throttle and practicing my heel-toeing. For people around my age, I would definitely recommend the manual I reckon. My manual has taught me things about driving I never would have known in an auto, and considering how good the ZF is, I think if I had chosen it, I would have never driven a manual again.
