  1. Good day guys, Sorry about the delayed response xr6-t-9 and Blown BA, it was a hell of a job to install the gauges but a lot easier than trying to get photos off the camera and on to a laptop computer. Still working on it! Cheers
  2. Good day guys, Zap not sure if you have any mods but I found that with more power on tap the car launched better than when standard, possibly because it broke traction easier. -had spare wheel and flat kit out of car. -high revs and gradual release of clutch while ridding the accelerator (yes accelerator, looking for sweet spot) You want to be off the clutch engagement when the turbo kicks in! -line the car up on a slight angle with steering straight. works for me! Cheers
  3. Good day guys, Just finished fitting a dual gauge pod to the dash, a hell of a job. Must compliment Ford on the refined work behind and under the dash as it is really neat. A word of advice for those wanting to fit the dual gauge pod, the light reflection off the gauges and on to the windscreen takes a bit of getting used to when driving. Cheers
  4. Good day guys, A boring topic but my mechanic was amazed to find 2 horns on the car instead of the usual 1 horn. So which is it or should it be??? Cheers
  5. Good day guys, No diff whine yet but I have definately had to stay in lower gears (higher revs) to avoid the clunk option. I had similiar problems with a VL a while back and it seemed to adapt to my driving and gradually went away, could be lateral thinking. Seems to be a case of engineering v budget, we all want Ferrari performance at Falcon value. The basics would be nice but having owned a few budget performance cars I have learnt that there is a payoff to achieve what we all want, "power"! Sorry to spoil the party but I would be happy to contribute to any formal approach to highlight the issues to Ford. Cheers I can see myself been next on the diff whine having posted this!
  6. Good day ZapXR6T, We have a fleet of some 8 cars maintained by the dealer and a buying relationship stretching over 20 years, I would hate to think it necessary to read the fine print. I owned a VL Turbo highly moded from new, great car and with 390+Kw not really a daily driver. The point of huge power figures should be looked for after the warrenty expires, better to spend 10K and buy an 11sec VL in that case and keep the BA standard as they are quick as it is. I really need a car capable of daily use and have had bad experiences with small (in-efficient) intercoolers in high temp/traffic in the past. Again guys, just my opinion! Great cars Cheers
  7. Good day guys, Thanks for the welcome ZapXR6T. The dealer fitted kit is not cheap: Stage 1- Chip Smart computer 270Kw $1650.00 Stage 2- Intercooler with plumbing Computer and sensor mods inc fuel regulator 3 inch stainless steel exhaust from turbo with cat Air box 300+Kw $8500.00 Not cheap, but if you spend 50K buying a car whats another 10K modifying it and you get to keep the warranty (written). Also the car comes with a compliance plate of sort noting the mods as factory options (no engineers, insurance or cops can hasle you, in theory) I ordered the car 3 months ago and have been looking at the options in that time, it will be getting the stage 2 fitted on Monday at New Oak Ford (FPV in Caulfield) and I will let you know how it goes. If you compare the price of a high performance exhaust for a GT at $4500 and the fact that I have seen numerous cars receive that mod then the turbo mod seems reasonable. The 300Kw is conservative, for obvious reasons but it can be packed to throw a punch. I contacted APS, Nizpro, AVO, ATS(P) all great packages and service I am sure but the dealer is probably the best bet until warranties expire, technically they designed the car so they should know about it. Im not planning to break land speed records just have a well balanced car. All my opinion, I could be wrong! Cheers
  8. Good day guys, Just curious to know if it is possible to reach 300+Kw using standard injectors? A Ford dealer thinks so in their aftermarket package; front mount intercooler (PWR), computer including sensors, exhaust (from turbo) and 9 pound boost! Can it be done??? All feedback taken, like anything there are lots of different opinions. Cheers
