  1. Hey mate, a pic would be great. I think theres a lot of confusion about rim size here. Aftermarket Dark Argent wheels are 9" wide. If oyu reckon 255 fit easily, maybe 265s will fit also without too much bulge. what do you reckon? Are you getitng sufficient trckion with your 255s? Just wondering if the extram 10 mm will make any difference in my case... Look forward to seeing your pics. Cheers, Darol.
  2. Thanks Ben. I quite like the dark Argent wheels so I will stick to these. Pitty they only come in 9". I'd like to know how wide I can go on these wheels - 265 wihtout bulge? What about the rear guard - any clearance problems? My F6 is lowered so I am concerned about the clearance issue. so, I wouldnt mind getting some advice on just how wide a tyre can fit the 9", then I'll see if there is a problem with the guard clearance. Thanks, Darol.
  3. I have brand new Pirelli PZero Nero's mate. Pretty good tyres. What do you recommend? One the F6 winds up all hell breaks loose. I think stickier tyres would be good, yes, but wider tyres also. You just don't know how easy the mean machine chews the rubber... Off by a mile, so serious consideration required for any decent take off. Cheers.
  4. Following my recent post on FG F6 traction control problems, I get the general feeling there is no solution for getting a good take off (even by easing into full throttle) without traction problems. Suggestions varied form "easing" into the throttle (30% etc.) to just getting used to insigating a burnout comp at the lights. So I am wondering about the more practical possibility of wider 265 or 275 tyres. Problem is I have 20/9" dark Argent wheels. I am also told the FG rear guard does not have enough room for such wide tyres... Can anyone tell me the maximum width tyre I can fit to the dark Argent 20/9" rim? How about the rear guard? And, will 265/275 tyres actually make much difference to the traction problem I am currently having on take off? Thanks for your inputs. Cheers, Darol.
  5. Thanks bro. Yes fun, but frastrating when the Clubbies are at the lights with you and you just wanna educate tehm a little (o: I used to have a VE R8 (yes, that's right) before converting to the FPV F6 and the R8 had awesome traction with the Bridgestone 275s. That's really what we need on our cars for take off. We's easily beat HSV in a burnout, but I'm just not confident off the mark due to lack of traction. A pitty, all that beaute power, but just can't delvier it to the ground. Happy smoking man (o:
  6. Thanks mate. Feedback much appreciated. I have actually tried taking off the mark low revs and gradually building up throttel to 70%ish, and still can't grip. Damn frustrating. Your're right about the tryes - FPV should have fitted 265/275 standard. Not sure why they didn't as my experience shows they are not even close with 245s. You would think manufacturers of a jet would know they need to fit the aircraft with wings (o: So beats me why FPV have offered 310 kW if you just can't use it off the mark. I have read reviews that the F6 should reach 0-100 km/hr is about 5.0 s flat, but with the way my car drives I'd be lucky to get there in 15... Anyway I will try wider tyres, but I hear there is not enough room in the rear guards, which will be yet another issue. Cheers, Darol.
  7. Mate with traction control off I will be sliding around like an ice skater! Pretty scary stuff in a powerhouse like the F6. Thanks anyway.
  8. Thanks for your reply. I have brand new Pirelli tyres which are supposed to be one of the best for performance. Traction control is ON. The real problem is premature shift into 2nd gear when the car revs out before traction control kicks in...
  9. I recently bought an FG F6 (auto) and am having severe traction problems in first gear under full throttle. This is frustrating as the car revs out and prematurely shifts into 2nd gear. I have 20" dark Argent wheels with 245/35 Pirelli PZero tyres but they do not seem to grip! Has anyone else experienced this problem or do I just have a freak car? I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
