  1. Would other injectors (different brand) fix the issue - or should I talk to the Tuner about scaling?
  2. Just got an email from Tuner - saying it may be a problem with power steering pump and to take it back to Ford. Hmm!! There was no vibration before tune only after the car was tuned - not sure if this coincidence or other. Any help greatly appreciated.
  3. Injectors were changed to 60lb - vibration is when the car is at idle. Once up and running it is not noticeable. They up the idle to try and get rid of vibration and it did help a little (now 700 rpm) - but still there and annoying.
  4. I had a similar issue. The tuner adjusted the injector slope and it fixed the problem

  6. I just had my FG XR6T tuned and I am very happy with the result. However, I noticed a slight vibration in the steering wheel after the tune. I asked the tuner about this and he said this is normal - they lifted the idle RPM to 700 to assist the power steering pump to compensate (lessen the vibration). Does this sound right. Anyone else had anything similar after tune?
  7. Thanks. I spoke to a couple of tuners - both said to tune the car first. If the car needs springs it will show up on the Dyno. Both thought it would be unlikely that they would need replacing at stage one power.
  8. Anyone have a definitive answer re: FG valve springs. Are they the same as the upgraded BF ones. Seems to be a bit of confusion out there. I am getting mixed opinions. Some say they are no good (similar to the BA's) and need to be changed, others say they are no problem. Reason being - I am thinking of getting the car tuned (FGXR6T) and want to know if they need to be changed right off the bat. Car is completely stock at the moment. Any help appreciated.
  9. Got a reply from SCT - not available in OZ just yet but apparently it is being worked on. Also got a reply from Herrod, they also confirm that SCT are finalising the product and will be launched soon in OZ - how soon nobody knows
  10. I just downloaded the app - I have sent an email to SCT to find out if any of the AU dealers are equiped to use this interface. Just playing with the App - looks very easy to use. If your tuner can load your custom tune to your iDevice (iPad, iPhone) etc.. looks like it should be straight forward loading it to your vehicle. Just need to purchase the Bluetooth OBD2 device. From what I can see it works pretty much the same as the Xcal 3 - just cheaper and easier.
  11. Thanks to all. I tried everything mentioned and nothing worked. Took car to Ford - they pulled out the plastic window garnish and disinfected and cleaned all around. Problem fixed. They reckon a cat must of urinated on the garnish and that was where the smell was coming from. Only reason they tried this was one of the technicians said that this had happened to his car and suggested it. Anyway it worked. Cheers.

    Can someone please tell me how much boost (PSI) a standard FG XR6 Turbo should make. And what a standard FG F6 310 boosts to as well. Thanks

  14. Hi all some help please. My 2009 FG XR6T aircon system has developed a really bad smell - like cat pee. It has been back to Ford twice - the first time they treated it with an anti-bacterial product. Smell was gone for 1 day. I treated it myself with an over the counter product Auto Glym sanitiser - good for a day. I installed a filter - still no change. It seems to happen at start up in recirc mode. I usually leave it on vent mode and this seems to be a little better. The second time it went to Ford they checked the system and could not find a problem - I was told to monitor and report back to them - will be doing this very soon. However, before I do any idea what may be causing the smell and more importantly; how do I get rid of it. All help appreciated.
  15. I had the same problem - see my post on FG Stereo hiss. I tried everything and could not get it resolved- ended up using an aftermarket Head unit. Problem fixed - perfect sound.
  16. Hi I am just wondering why there is such a big price differential for SCT Xcal 3 Flash Tuner sold in oz, compared to the ones sold in the USA. I contacted a company in the US who are selling them for around half the price we would pay over here. With the OZ dollar so strong at the moment is does not make a lot of sense. I understand stock was probably purchased while the dollar was not as strong -but it still does not add up. Also the company I spoke to contacted SCT (USA), who then advised them that the units are Zone specific - so the ones sold in the USA would not work in OZ? Not sure about that, I think it may be more to do with keeping OZ distributors happy? Any know anything about this?

  18. Hi All, how much boost can a completely stock FG XR6T handle. I understand Ford increased the boost level in the FG to 10 psi (please correct me if I'm wrong) - Reason being I am thinking of getting the car tuned and don't want it to go bang - conservative tune. Cheers

They worked out the required size for the enclosure - so I don't know the answers you require. All I can tell you is the sound quality is excellent. To answer your final question/remark is built for both.
  20. Just had custom sub installed. Looks and sounds great. I installed an Alpine R series 10" - in custom fibreglass box. I got Westside car audio to do the job - a little $$$ but very happy . What sub is that? And what db rating do you get in the middle of the boot? Also what capacity is the enclosed space for the sub and is it even ported? Looks ok but my bet would be it's running at abot 50% efficiency.

  23. Hi All, Help needed. I have been negotiating with a guy from eBay to custom make some fibre glass sub boxes (left and right) for the FG. He manufactures(sub boxes)for a lot of other vehicles (check out his listings on eBay)but unfortunately does not have one for the FG at the moment. What he requires is a vehicle for about 6 hours so he can make a mould, which would then allow him to manufacture them. He said the person who allows him the use of the car would get the first set (left and right)free of charge (I will double check this with him - just to make sure). I would lend him my car but I am in Perth and he is in Melbourne - Deer Park. Anyone interested? I am also sure he would do an excellent price for a group buy.

    Good point - were you using 98 octane fuel when you ran the 240rwkW or 95?
