Thanks Mike - how do you find it - in relation to scraping on things?

Hope I'm not breaking any rules reviving an old thread. I am looking at lowering my 2015 FGX XR6 Turbo but concerned about going too low. I need it to be practical as I still tow with the vehicle. Seen all the recommended post re: SSL /SSSL combo. As it is my daily driver, Im concerned about scraping on speed bumps and driveways. Can anyone tell me their experience with this combo in relation to scraping. I would love to see an actual car with this set up so if you live in the Perth area I would love to have a captain cook. That's great info - thanks for that. I'm tossing up between XFT and Monsta torque - both have strong following and great results. Once I decide to bite the bullet I will let you all know the outcome. Thanks all for your time and input. Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks for input so far. As the car is brand new I did not want to kiss off the warranty so soon. I was originally thinking of taking it to XFT and probably will. Just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with this workshop and whether it was worth pursuing. The 3 year driveline warranty cost about $1000 on top of the tune so probably not really worth it. I am still weighing up options so will keep You posted with what I end up doing. "And" has anyone had any experience with this workshop- good or bad.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi anyone used these guys before. They are the KPM Motorsport rep in WA. I have a 2015 FGX turbo. Reason I ask is they offer drivetrain warranty coverage. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yep agreed. Macey did the install on my first FG and Tim my new FGX. Both did high quality work. Very happy with everything except the actual Ford ICC. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Westside Audio did the install and they did a great job. I spoke to Alberts and Volatile car audio and they pretty much said the same thing. The issue is the poor quality signal coming out of the ICC. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks- unfortunately I'm in Perth. The Car Audio place that installed the system have retuned the car several times and the hiss remains. I have contacted several other audio shops and they have all said the same thing- the factory output signal voltage is really low and that is what causes this issue. The processor does improve the sound quality but cannot compensate enough for the initial poor signal quality. I have had to compromise the power output level by lowering the gains; this reduces low level hiss but does not get rid of it completely. I might try and give your guys in Sydney a call and see if they can provide any advice. Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I had a 2009 FG and had a similar issue with noise and poor quality sound. I had alpine type r splits in the front and type r coaxials in the rear, a 10" type R sub with custom fibreglass enclosure all run off the ICC through two alpine amps. The system pumped but quality wasn't great and there was a definite hiss at low volume levels. I was told it was the poor quality ICC. I then had an alpine head unit installed- what a difference. The clarity and quality was so much better and absolutely now low level hiss. Very happy. I recently purchased a new FGX and had a similar system installed. However this time I had a processor installed - instead of a head unit. I wanted to retain all the Sync2 Functionality. Sound quality is slightly better but no where near as good as the aftermarket head unit. The low level hiss has returned and it can not be filtered out. Clarity is marginally better than without a processor but a lot of money for a little improvement. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Severed ties with the installer-Superpro were quite understanding and gave me a full refund- cannot say the same about the installer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sorry - never got back to you. Problem solved. The new hybrid polylast diff bush was either installed incorrectly or there was a fault with the bush. Installer blaming the bush and the bush distributor blaming the installer.Anyway the diff bush walked its way out and completely separated. The car had to be flatbed towed to the place that replaced the bush the first time, and at my cost for both the Tow and have the job re-done (this time with an OEM bush), vibration issue gone. What a joke. I have now severed ties with this company.
-
Thanks will try changing diff oil and see if it helps. The more I drive it -feels like vibration resonating through the car. I am back to work so may be a week or two before I can get it done. Will keep you posted. Cheers Re: the idle issue - still unresolved. Only very intermittent though- 3 to 6 monthly
-
Thanks - not sure. The car has been serviced every 7500km since new. Just passed 80k on the clock. How often should it be changed?

I just had the new Superpro Hybrid polyelast diff bush installed (2009 FG XR6 Turbo - 6 speed ZF). The bush is quiet however at 2750 through to 3250 RPM in third gear - normal acceleration - the car resonates a droning sound. I can not replicate the sound anywhere else. It was not there before the new diff bush was installed but is now very apparent? The guys that installed it said that the noise is due to the new bush being stiffer and the already existing diff vibrations (that I was unaware I had) was now being transmitted/amplified. They said the noise/vibration would have always been there but would have been masked by the OEM rubber bush. Is this what others have experienced with replacement diff bushes? Or are they covering themselves?

Hi need to remove the rear bumper and fit a new retainer bracket. Anyone know how to remove the rear bumper on an FG XR6T. My wife reversed into a curb and it grabbed the bumper- she then drove forward and almost pulled it off. When she returned the car the bumper was misaligned. She then handed me a piece of the bracket that holds the bumper on and said sorry. All help appreciated.

Thanks - I have had the car in and checked - Ford first and then my tuner. Both confirmed the turbo had failed. My tuner is now in the process of rebuilding it for me. I will know why the turbo failed so early once it is removed and taken apart.

While driving home from work on Friday - the car started to make a very loud spooling noise and seemed to lose power. The car had been driving perfectly up to that point and no indication of any potential issues. I pulled up at a set of lights - car perfect. I drove off - normal acceleration (light) and the noise was very apparent. I checked for any blown off pipe or splits to the rubber joiners on the pipes but could not find any. Any idea of what is going on? Car is tuned - Plazmaman stage 1 pipe kit - no other mods. 2009 FG Turbo 61k on the clock - serviced every 7500km.

Hi all, I had Ford install an FPV cluster in to my FG Turbo a couple of years ago. I recently saw some custom dials (replacement inserts) on eBay. I contacted the manufacturer and got some custom dials made - exactly the same as the original but just replaced the FPV with XR - looks pretty good (I think so anyway). Just need someone to install them for me. Anyone know of anyone in Perth that can do this sort of thing?

I'm going to take the throttle body off and give it a thorough clean when I go on holidays in a couple of weeks time. I will check the butterfly alignment as well and let you know if this helps. Anyway of checking the TPS? I will also take a photo of coupling and see if anyone knows what I am looking for.

Hi about 98% fixed. Once I went back to stock injectors and stock tune the car seemed fine for quite a while - no stalling at all. However, after about 3 months (I think) it did it once as I pulled up at a set of lights. Then no problem again. So I decided to take it back and get it tuned on the stock injectors. Same place same tuner. I am happy with tune, power and driveability. No stalling at all. However, again after about 3 months (running performance tune) - the car did it again. It has done it a few times since but not as frequent as before. I would say it would do it once every couple of months. Starting to think it may not be in the tune but something else? What about you - how have you gone with issue?

If I get time this weekend I will take it off for another look and take a photo.

Hi does anyone know the part number for the internal rubber coupling that fits into the induction side of the FG factory turbo. This is the coupling that fits into the turbo housing itself- it has two locator lugs on it - the induction muffler fits into this rubber coupling. Not the external coupling for tightening it all together. Any help greatly appreciated.
