  1. I just so happened to find this on an older thread (Mt Baw Baw in May) wheres the thread for the cruise Dillz? I'm keen to see the route oh and congrats on the car mate... what are your plans for it?
  2. oh a new car! after reading some of your other posts Dillz I assume your getting a G6ET
  3. this one looks like its going to be pretty good! Gary/Rudiger where did you get your windscreen mounts for your camera, I want to buy 1 now to have in time for the cruise. I know they're off ebay but from memory you guys recommended a certain one
  4. that's fair enough mate, can you give me some idea of the parts used, I can get my old man to buy everything trade and make it up for me. Industrial Refrigeration parts and car parts are very similar
  5. its always the way though! you will be driving down the road and see a car wanting to pull out, they didnt pull out when you were 200 meters away but gods knows they'll pull out when your 5 meters away. Hope all is well mate, cant believe the idiot drove off! some people are just a disgrace
  6. any chance of you wanting to make me one? it looks fantastic! I'll pay of course!
  7. that looks very nice, a mate of mine has one and he seems to like it a lot
  8. will let you know later mate, I'll talk to her tonight and see if she wants to drive or go shotgun
  9. why am I not already on the confirmed list?
  10. good job cruise controller I see your working just as hard as I am today
  11. yep def looks like something broke! either that or his missus was in the front passenger and they were arguing over directions from the GPS
  12. I think threads should be started for the Great Ocean Road cruise and night cruise, not with a firm date and route etc but at least so people can discuss dates and it will help the Cruise Controllers gauge interest
  13. theres always at least one comedian Worm I PM'd you the other day and you didnt get back to me, now that's just rude man
  14. lucky you werent in Vic, 30km over and the copper can take your car at his discretion. Sounds like you had an ass of a cop mate, normally they will be a human and drop it a little
  15. the freeways will be ok, but will be interesting to see the average speeds through the twistys, better yet the average l/100km not that long ago I went absolutely flat nacker through some twistys with a mate and got 180km out of a full tank of Caltex Vortex 98 with the car beeping with 80km til empty
  16. I decided to map this out on Google Maps this morning just to check the time and km's, I think its good that we arent doing the jamieson to Eldon part, I would be a tad concerned as to just how tired the drivers and need I say it the cars would be by that point, the cruisy freeway back will set a relaxing pace for the drivers and give the cars some nice freeway driving Just to let you know, from my place to the cruise and back to my place (Rowville) Google Maps puts the estimated travel time at 15 hours and 21 mins covering 962km... that's actually stuff all, I do 606Km every second weekend to pick up and drop off my son from his mums house. I'll be driving Tassie for a week in late Feb so I'll probably need a service between the 2
  17. so thus far its the 4 of us with 3 booked in for accommodation, Yoshi a maybe and Adam once he stops being slack and books the itinerary I gave him. maybe the boys up front just aren't fast enough for all the cool people to come
  18. yer maybe the exhaust, from memory the XR50's have a different cat to mine (09 manual), its supposed to be a more restricting cat to comply with euro 4... I wouldnt quote me on that though
  19. this is going to go on forever, its almost as bad as manual or auto? some like turbo 6's and others like v8's, maybe we should band together and feel sorry for the poor bastards that are into rotary's Will love to be down at Calder park when someone actually drags the new Coyote (they may have already done it but I havent seen one yet) the sound of the charger up close will be great.
  20. try and find a system off another car that you can hack the I/O from and get the right stuff to make it all work, steering lock will be the real issue, maybe you could replace the stock sterring lock with the solenoid from the XR5's
  21. well for 1 run this guy is absolutely amazing!!! I love the Ken Block videos but yer you can see where he has done the trick over and over to get it right
  22. ok so I better elaborate on what Rudiger said, coming down the road driving at a very normal slow pace my rear left wheel went over a pot hole, I noticed the tyre going flat so pulled over. Rudiger being the good mate he is offered me his full size spare instead of my space saver. So Rudiger, Adam and I put our tools together to get the wheel changed. Wheel changed successfully so set off again, about 100 meters up the road I notice my traction control light flickering like crazy, shortly after the FG throws up major warnings and systems failures, I believe it said ABS, Airbag, DSC and COMMS were disabled!!! We all pulled over and checked the car further for damage from the pot hole to no avail, disconnected the battery to try and remove the error codes all to no success, we decided to limp the car to Jamieson which was quite far from where we were especially considering the car had NO safety enabled and now no working speedo!!! a little further up the road I went to put the car into 5th, not realising the reverse lockout on the trans wasn't on I accidentally pulled the shifter right over to where reverse was (I didn't actually put it into reverse) this threw up a heap more codes and now my engine has gone into limp home mode! Finally limp it into Jamieson going like 40km/h, not sure what to do from here considering the public holiday we decide to remove Rudiger's full size spare and put on my space saver, we do this and I go for a drive, a small drive up the road and all the error codes disappear, the speedo comes back and the car goes back to normal! It turns out the rolling diameter of Rudiger's full size spare for his BF is significantly smaller than the rolling diameter of my wheels and my space saver spare on the FG thus throwing the computer all out of wack, and not doing any favours to the diff either! we had absolutely no idea that the rolling diameters between the BF and FG were so different, we only noticed when we held Rudiger's wheel up against my space saver. Word to the wise... DO NOT PUT DIFFERENT ROLLING DIAMETER WHEELS ON EACH SIDE OF THE CAR! keep the backs the same and the fronts the same or your car will have a temper tanty. A massive thanks to Rudiger and Adam for helping me fix the car and sticking with me at 40km/h on some amazing roads, I know plenty of idiots who would've said too bad I'll meet you at the next town and left! Keep in mind everyone that these are the sorts of guys that go on these cruises, so when you decide to come you will be in good company. Oh and an even bigger thanks to Bethany for publishing my anguish on facebook in real time, your journalism skills are second to none I am going to get a sniper head shot record next time I play you on COD ON a side note, I agree with Gary, come on guys what the hell is going on, these cruises are awesome! Gary does a phenomenal job at organizing and you will have an absolute blast!
  23. thanks boys, great vid!
  24. Hopefully someone called the cops, then the bitch can get charged with fleeing the scene of an accident! Have a good new years everyone!
