ok so I better elaborate on what Rudiger said, coming down the road driving at a very normal slow pace my rear left wheel went over a pot hole, I noticed the tyre going flat so pulled over. Rudiger being the good mate he is offered me his full size spare instead of my space saver. So Rudiger, Adam and I put our tools together to get the wheel changed. Wheel changed successfully so set off again, about 100 meters up the road I notice my traction control light flickering like crazy, shortly after the FG throws up major warnings and systems failures, I believe it said ABS, Airbag, DSC and COMMS were disabled!!! We all pulled over and checked the car further for damage from the pot hole to no avail, disconnected the battery to try and remove the error codes all to no success, we decided to limp the car to Jamieson which was quite far from where we were especially considering the car had NO safety enabled and now no working speedo!!! a little further up the road I went to put the car into 5th, not realising the reverse lockout on the trans wasn't on I accidentally pulled the shifter right over to where reverse was (I didn't actually put it into reverse) this threw up a heap more codes and now my engine has gone into limp home mode! Finally limp it into Jamieson going like 40km/h, not sure what to do from here considering the public holiday we decide to remove Rudiger's full size spare and put on my space saver, we do this and I go for a drive, a small drive up the road and all the error codes disappear, the speedo comes back and the car goes back to normal! It turns out the rolling diameter of Rudiger's full size spare for his BF is significantly smaller than the rolling diameter of my wheels and my space saver spare on the FG thus throwing the computer all out of wack, and not doing any favours to the diff either! we had absolutely no idea that the rolling diameters between the BF and FG were so different, we only noticed when we held Rudiger's wheel up against my space saver. Word to the wise... DO NOT PUT DIFFERENT ROLLING DIAMETER WHEELS ON EACH SIDE OF THE CAR! keep the backs the same and the fronts the same or your car will have a temper tanty. A massive thanks to Rudiger and Adam for helping me fix the car and sticking with me at 40km/h on some amazing roads, I know plenty of idiots who would've said too bad I'll meet you at the next town and left! Keep in mind everyone that these are the sorts of guys that go on these cruises, so when you decide to come you will be in good company. Oh and an even bigger thanks to Bethany for publishing my anguish on facebook in real time, your journalism skills are second to none I am going to get a sniper head shot record next time I play you on COD ON a side note, I agree with Gary, come on guys what the hell is going on, these cruises are awesome! Gary does a phenomenal job at organizing and you will have an absolute blast!
