  1. I thought I would see if anybody was interested before I did a write up. I have recently installed a Peltier Module (Thermoelectric module) in the wall of my center console. Long story short this module will cool my center console down to 2 degrees or heat my center console up to 50 degrees depending on which way I have the switch. Not sure if anybody has the problem I have with an FG but you just cant keep drinks even semi cold inside the car, doesnt matter if you put them in your door or center cup holders, my drinks are warm within 20 mins. So now my center console can have up to 4 drinks in there and the car will keep them cold or you can put your maccas in there to keep warm while you drive home. The good news is is that you dont loose any space and you cant tell its even there
  2. RealVNC and the good old Remote Desktop work perfectly. Your biggest problem will be a static IP from any of the 3G providers, to get around this you will need a DNS provider and a DNS updater on the PC. for example to get into my home network all I have to do is type something like http://rusty.thruhere.net and no matter what my remote IP address is the DNS will point to it... you can do this with www.dyndns.com (its free) The number one thing people F'up is port forwarding, make sure you allow or forward any ports needed by your chosen software
  3. had a good day today, thanks for organising Gary... your the man!
  4. lets not forget Astin Martins run a very similar setup, when cruising around the gases go through the exhaust right to the back for a nice street sound, if you put your foot into it the computer opens the exhaust right after the cat. Very popular system and has been used for ages, if your a top gear fanatic like me you will hear Clarksons comments on the exhaust often.
  5. mine changes dramatically depending on fuel (I only use 98), Shell makes my car go like crap, I drag race on BP at calder and get kick ass times but bad fuel economy around the streets. I get the best out of Caltex 98, 7.2-8.2 on the freeway, and 10.5-12.0 city driving, I am on average according to the little computer currently sitting at 10.2. well over 500Km out of every tank, except for when I use Shell, on Shell I can get max 350-400Km out of the tank. Car is an 09 XR6T Manual with 20" wheels... it all makes a difference peeps, bigger wheels often mean heavier wheels!
  6. yer my Windows Defender is going crazy over this site... a few other personal security means are a tad unhappy as well. 2 different things are trying to get through at present but I cant tell where they are coming from
  7. thanks for the pics mate, much appreciated! I think they look fantastic, couldnt be happier with how my car looks, the XR5T looks amazing!!! hey Worm when you get a chance can you please PM me the details to pull down my pics It would've been good to be in the early session of the skid pan to get my car in some of your pics
  8. yer im still bringing the bbq mate, no problems. in regards to a "passenger" I meant for example Jamie (my girlfriend) is already entered to go on the skid pan, but while she isnt doing anything is she allowed to come in my car as a passenger while I am on the skidpan? to hold the camera for some inside car footage?
  9. its definitely still happening, a java applet just opened itself and media player tried playing a movie simply titled U. I will close everything and go back to this website and see if I can get a few screenshots for you
  10. Gary you've probably already answered this somewhere mate but I have a few questions. 1. what time should the afternoon people arrive for the bbq 2. What time do you need me there to help with the bbq 3. Do your tyres have to be street legal and roadworthy, I ask because I was thinking of running a set of 20"s that are close to their roadworthy mark... will these be ok? 4. I know there are no spectators allowed but are you allowed a passenger if that person is already there?
  11. thanks for the info mate, I will check out those wheels. CAMS Speed 2 License and FPVXR member indicates I will be seriously getting into track and hill climbs
  12. Bunna you may need your GPS to get from the workshop to the car park!
  13. thanks for the tip mate, I'll be upgrading my rotors to DBA's first and keeping the stock calipers. Then I'll see if im ready for an upgrade
  14. im free this friday if you wanted another car to test with, I wouldnt mind a little cruise to Arthurs Seat and a meet up
  15. I'm looking for some second hands wheels to suite an FG XR6T Looking for either 18x8 or 18x8.5 for the rear and 18x8 for the front Just need a set for use on the track, if anybody has some that they want to get rid of just post or shoot me a PM
  16. I know what you mean about the pot holes mate, just tore a side wall on the weekend from a pot hole, replacing 20" tyres is costly! Just let us know where and when Worm, it will be good to see what you can do with my car

  22. All new Fords and Holdens have data logging capability once the crash sensor computer is activated. So police can already check your cars data logging to see what was happening. This is only for crashes of course (I believe you need a court order)
  23. I'll double check the paperwork tonight but I'm pretty sure it just says LH, RH, and Center Diff Bushes
  24. I just bought the missus an 2010 Focus XR5T and that runs plastic end tanks, personally I think it looks so cheap, but her car runs up to around 16PSI
  25. just got my diff bushes changed yesterday... guess who got the new bushes!!! all under warranty I had to talk to the service department manager before anyone admitted that they have changed. Apparently its an all new formula... car is driving 10 times better than before, a lot less axle tramp and no clunks or bangs when changing gears (manual) or when taking foot off the throttle. so I can confirm there are new diff bushes floating around and they are fantastic
