Thanks to Rudiger for a great cruise, everything went off pretty much without a hitch Car complications are to be expected when dealing with these sorts of mods, hopefully the car with the air bags was only a minimal problem and a cheap fix Paul is a big WRX fan, perhaps he can explain why the WRX was 4 wheel sliding all over the place and we were right up his ass with plenty more to go Jamie and I headed home VIA the roads through Launching Place, lots of fun! Jamie had her first scar with a front wheel lock up getting a dead animal caught on the front wheels while under brakes going 100 into a 30km corner Don't forget people, we need COLOUR CODING Love the photos Adam! you will need to do another photo shoot so we can get some of the XR5T and finish the mosaic

theres no problems from me as expressed earlier and I think most on the other guys agree, I don't want any unneeded attention from a bunch of idiots, so if they're good guys than its all good

I'm pretty sure that's the Nizpro engine dyno, correct me if im wrong though

Don't forget the thermos. Not long now ladies

see so some good responses and some bad, totally depends on the service guy at the dealer and wether or not he got laid recently. interesting stuff about dealers offering mods, where does the warranty lay? Ford wouldnt warrant the mods surely??? just like when you get after market leather but from the dealer, its not Fords problem when something happens, responsibility lies between you, the dealer and the third party... Ford the company would tell the dealer to get stuffed its their problem. I havent had a single problem with Ford service, ok I wasnt happy when it took them a month and a half to fix a faulty tail shaft, but that was due to FOMoCo not having stock and their warehouse being stopped by workcover temporarily, totally not the dealers fault. I've had a few little issues with my car and my girlfriends XR5T, all problems apart from the tailshaft have been fixed same day with no arguments or hassle. But like I said, this is with Etheridge Ford who I cant compliment enough for their before sales and after sales service.

, sounds like a rebuild to me. The oil drain line is extremely important and if done incorrectly can cause major issues! where does the drain line go to? I would assume you tapped it into your sump, if so how did you tap it? are you sure your drain lines are big enough? I do believe replacing the seals is a rebuild, cause once you take the compressor wheel off to get to the seals you need to balance the shaft etc once the compressor wheels back on. I do believe you can kill the seals even with the car at idle, even at idle the turbo is spinning quite fast which in turn means the bearings are starting to heat up pretty much straight away, but not only heat if the drain is incorrect oil pressure will be building up as well, im sure someone will be on shortly to either back me up or give you their findings At this point I would recommend getting it towed to a mechanic, preferably one that knows turbo's and get them to check it, if something is wrong you dont want to risk any further damage!!! the last thing you want is for something to happen to the turbo and then let it shoot crap into your engine. good luck with it all mate, let us know how you go

Nizpro buy all their factory parts from them, the Nizpro drag car is sponsored by them and whenever you talk to the service department about modding your T they refer you to Nizpro. I am by NO MEANS saying that Etheridge Ford will warrant mods that Nizpro do, my original statement of "Just keep in mind ALL modifications MAY VOID WARRANTY, it is purely at their discretion and at the end of the day your taking a gamble!" still stands

haha somehow we got on the topic of being a on another thread, tab generously added this emoticon so we could express ourselves properly

all in all its frowned upon, the problem is the warranty comes from the manufacturer not the dealer! Dealers are just lazy and say your power window switch isn't covered under warranty because you have a tune, this is just being lazy and a In my experience the best place to go is Etheridge Ford in Ringwood Vic, they are fantastic and very fair! they wont warrant something like a gear box when you've tuned the car to 400rwkw but they will warrant a power window switch Plus they're tied in with Nizpro which is always a good thing Just keep in mind ALL modifications MAY VOID WARRANTY, it is purely at their discretion and at the end of the day your taking a gamble!

im a bit confused as to what that means but im going to just in case

didn't have a choice mate, I felt deeply violated... much like the goat actually Ford wouldn't give me a demo car as a loan, they said it had to go through Ford Customer Relations who in turn said I had to go through Hertz (all paid for of course) the guy who made the emoticon didn't happen to have kids did he?
-
why is there no emoticon for goats

yaw refers to the "true" heading or orientation of a vehicle or plane. that's true as in straight

Don't get me wrong I definitely agree with you tab, I am the only manual out of my mates and their ZF's are fantastic, definitely everything you mentioned above. I am a preferred manual if you cant already tell, I think I just like the feel of being in control. But yer as all have said, personal preference, take one for a drive and see what you think. On a side note earlier this year my tail shaft went... super long story but anyway, Ford decided to put me onto Hertz rentals while I waited a month and a half for a tailshaft, Hertz decided to give me an Aurion I was travelling down Stud rd in the auto Aurion and got stuck in a bumper to bumper collision, I watched the car in front of me collide with the car in front of him, all I could do was hit the brakes and wait, it took the Aurion that long to stop I had time to say to my girlfriend "oh crap this is going to cost me". There was nowhere to go, cars to the left, median to the right, there I was stuck in the middle with a f*ckin Aurion!

have you already fitted it to the car? if so clean it up real nice, put it back in the box and try your luck, say you got mixed up or something. you can go a few days without reverse lights while the replacement comes in, a mate of mine has a 350Z, came off the lot brand new with the reverse lights not working, 2 years on still not working!!! the guys have no idea whats wrong. I agree with hiddeous, if you cant get a refund at least try for a credit
-
oohhh painful, any chance you can return the one you paid 200 for? as I said in an earlier post, spin the wheel. Are those contacts only plated? man that is terrible quality, that's not even designed to last!
-
gotta keep the competitive edge huh, fair enough

mate more info on that would be great! sounds like a killer project!

did we have a ? mate I've been inhaling too much burnout smoke

im not so sure an auto will always be faster (in terms of a stocker), I can get a better 60ft over the auto due to the fact that a manual has a lot more control, an auto has control as to how hard the accelerator is pressed... wheel spin here will always be an issue. The gears changes are arguable and heavily dependent on the driver, a light clutch press and a flat shift gets me pretty close to the auto gear changes the triple synchros between 1st, 2nd and 3rd help with this immensely. but yer the 10yr old discussion will go on for ever if your not buying the car for specifically qtr mile times then its all personal preference
-
not sure about the BA but the FG manuals hold the revs at the same point when you rev the car with your clutch in. some people call it launch control or launch assist, all it really is is antilag for the turbo because the engine is free revving and isnt under load.
-
what you have circled is the water inlet pipe, how is the pink liquid getting from over there all the way to your alternator on the other side of the engine? Are you sure its not just the wax stuff from the laser wash? I dont go through laser washes because I've found water and wax inside the engine bay. other than that I have no idea of what is pink, sorry mate
-
that's with traction off and I never use launch assist, always hold the revs around 2500 to 3000. running crappy little Brigestone Turanza taxi tyres I actually think I can still do faster, experience tyre chirp between first and second gear. So just for the OP, remember mate the consensus that Auto's are always faster than a manual is not always the case.
