  3. Yeah, it's always the same side. The passenger side never single spins.
  4. Not sure what oil is in it. Nah, I don't do a lot of skids. I do the odd one here and there, and I've never cut hoops in this car.
  5. Hello all! Great forum here. I'm having some trouble with my diff. It seems to be single spinning. There is no drive to the drivers side wheel most of the time, but if I really hang the arse out, it seems to grab and start doing what it's meant to. When I attempt to slide it, it clunks alot. Not very violently, it's quite a gentle clunk. Is this a CV or the center itself? I've stuck my head under there and can't see anything out of the ordinary. Any ideas? Cheers! Braiden
  6. My passenger seat stopped moving the other day. It seemed to slowly get stiffer and stiffer when it moved back and forth and now won't move at all. Any ideas as to why?

  8. Nah, I had to change down 2 gears for it to go back to normal. Which is why it's so weird.

  13. Hey guys and gals, I have a few queries: 1. Recently I decided to spin my speedo needle up a bit further than usual. For some reason when I hit roughly 140kmph (4th gear) I get a massive abrupt loss of power. After it happened I changed up to 6th and just coasted down to 110kmph. I put the car in cruise, and it felt like it was miss-firing. Clutched in, dropped the car into 4th, clutched out. Still "missing" a bit, but all of a sudden I feel it go back to normal. What is going on here? The car seems fine normally, only when getting to that speed does it crack it. Car is a BF MkI with no mods except for a PW stage 1 cooler. I know the car did this in its stock form also. 2. When the car is dead cold it doesn't seem to boost like normal if you give it stick. I assume it needs to warm up and I usually don't give it hell til it's warm. Just wondering if this is normal. 3. How much oil usually makes it's way into the intake? When I changed my cooler I noticed a fair amount of oil in there. Car has 150,000 on it and was serviced well. Sorry about the long post but this is my first boosted car. Many questions to ask!   15. Hey, Just bought a BF and last night it was a little wet. Taking off full throttle in first the car starts to lose traction. I get this incredibly loud banging sound, roughly 3 or 4 in a row depending on how long I keep the throttle on when it starts to lose traction. What is this? It sort of feels like axle tramp, but I am not sure if this is correct. I believe the diff bush is a little shagged according to the previous owner, but I haven't had a look at it yet. I was driving with traction control off. The car is a manual. If you guys could shed some light on this that would be great. Cheers.
  16. Hey guys and gals, As of today, I am now the proud owner of one 2006 BF XR6T. I'm planning on installing the tripod gauges in my car. However, my question relates to the oxy sensor. What is everyone using as their sensors? Are you using the stock sensor? Most cars I know use narrowband sensors, and I am after quite an accurate reading. I was thinking about something like an Innovate LC1 or something paired with a wideband gauge, but if the stock sensor provides an accurate enough reading, I'll go with that. What do you all suggest?

  18. Would a Monza cooler do 300rwkw happily? Or an F6 cooler? Or do I need something better for it to be reliable? Also, wiresquire raised a good point. Do I need valve springs? I thought BF springs were fairly tough, even pre 06/06. Can someone clarify?

  20. Hey guys, I am about to purchase a pre-June 2006 BF XR6T. My goal for the car is to make 300rwkw safely and reliably. I don't have a money tree to prune whenever I need the cash, but I am willing to spend the necessary money (within reason) to do my best to not overly sacrifice the reliability of the car. What mods would be the best for my situation? It's a 6spd manual if that makes a difference. I figure the obvious mods are: Flash tuner Custom tune Cooler F6 secondary intake Hi flow cat Injectors Fuel Pump? Surge Tank? Is there anything else that anyone would suggest? And good value for money models that will get me where I want to be? I also plan on having the tri-guage dash mould with Oil pressure, boost, and AFR gauge with a wideband sensor (probably Innovate LC-1 or something) so I know what's going on.
