  1. bjc congrats on new bubbie , its a great time, when you can best wishes
  2. No more clues Boys ? has anyone had problems with excessive current draw with the Cyclops P485 upgrade alarm systems that's fitted here especially leaving the car unlocked for long periods. regards
  3. Hi ebxmple and bjc, still trying with this before auto elect., I've set a good MA meter on the battery and initial current is 250ma drops to 140ma when the system goes to sleep. Do you have to start engine and turn off also turn the ICC on/off and run central locking to initialize the system before you check current draw? Working my way through the fuses, Had siren apart : ni-cad batteries are ok. I've had light connectors apart and sprayed with WD40, seem to be ok Do have any idea where the cpu fuses are located ? I'll check its current draw. I'm still checking the glove box and boot lights. On something a little unrelated, these calcium batteries are difficult to get to a full charge. thankyou again, regards
  4. thanks again you two Guys, you certanlly know your stuff and given me some good areas to check, I'm away a bit, so this weekend might be good. The XR6t does a lot of sitting around so this is how all this has come to light.I now have two batteries and alternate. I thought about putting a 2amp charger on the thing in a permanent setup. Yes it would be good to get a current draw for reference, from a car that's ok. Is the power that supplies the siren fused ? and does that go through the fuse block under the steering wheel ? kind regards
  5. Thanks very much Guys (bjc and ebxmple) most times it would be a month between starts. I've put the ma meter on for 1 hour and its reading 100ma or close to it.I'll do as you say and pull the fuses and see if I can get a reduction. ebxmple do think it might be an alarm drain ? So what MA reading do you have on your xr6 ? I'll get to the bottom of this with a little help thanks again fellas
  6. thanks fellas, I've measured at battery to positive lead and it reads 0.1amps.(100ma) How does that current sound ?
  7. appreciate thanks very much Guys, so I should see about 30ma/hr (average)after the car goes to sleep. so that's a bit over 5 amps per week, now if everthing is working good on say a standard 50amp/hr battery ,I should get a 2-3 weeks before the battery voltage drops off and unable to start.
  8. Guys, My battery fails to hold a charge after the XR6t sitting for 1 week without use,( I've fitted a new battery ) I would be interested if any of you guys have measured your “Quiescent current” that is the current drawn from the battery by vehicle components that require power when the key is in the “off” position. That draw includes the ICC, clock, and ECU memory. Mine has an alarm fitted. regards
  9. I believe these fuse block assembly's are available on the internet, check that out. It may reduce your reliance on Ford and save. You may be able to tackle this replacement yourself, depending on your technicial expertise. It would be possible to glue the bonnet release in position if you don't care.
  10. Hi robbiefisher , whats happened is your bonnet cable has jammed and the plastic captive cage on the fuse block has broken. You will need a new fuse block assembly.
