  1. I got a 195 rwkw with K&N and no center muffler. Boost was a little under. Pretty happy with it.
  2. I've successfully had a new gear set put into my auto under warranty, when I got it back the 1st gear whine is there, but much quieter, second gear whine vanished and it now changes much smoother, snappier. One thing you have to keep in mind is the mechanics at your dealers, some have the skills to rebuild your auto, most are "of the shelf" engine part fitters. :wink1: Tell them that you want to initiate the warranty process, they will then get some warranty rep from ION to make a decision on it.
  3. Great Info Adamxrt.....well done
  4. Best thing I've done to my T, adds heaps of character
  5. I claimed a whining 1st and 2nd and was successfull ....but I did state right from the start that I was making a warranty claim and wish to pursue it. They fixed it by Ion supplying a gear set.....it still whines a little but I'm pretty happy with the result.
  6. Happened to me to at a 15,000 k/m service, my hand break needed to be pull a fair way up, more than I like, so I said to adjust it......copped that item as well next time I think I'll bring my legal council with me make sure everything is on the level.
  7. I work for Ford in the tyransport/logistics Dept in Geelong. I wanted an XR when we first seen it in the research center. Got a black Turbo....very happy.
  8. The next update is called copperhead (end of 05), the new platform is called Orion.

    v8 supercar

V8 supercar racing is what it is today because of the backing & money that's been invested over the years by Ford/Holden. The formular is pretty right now, and I don't think I'd like to go back to the days of the Imports vs Local
  13. I got one fitted from Micheal........I'm as happy as
  14. I fitted the K&N oil filter.....$22 as opposed to $8 or $9 and traps finer particles.
  15. Choice ran an article on oil aditives 3 or 4 months ago......waste of money
  16. These Expensive Daewoo guys are in real pain......and I reckon they'll be so disappointed with thier new v6, being a global engine it is already compromised by the euro standards and that its designed to be more in line with camry & magnas v6s. I'm amazed :o by the bullsh*t marketing Idea of quoting KW figures at 7,000 rpm the average punter runs his car between 1400 to 2,500 in day to day driving....this is were you need the torque, not at 6,000 plus rpm. The fact is Expensive Daewoo are not making money on their cars eg. $4,000 in petrol, slipping residules at auction, the adventura "stuff up", lost market share...it all adds up.

    Oil Useage

Talking to one of the engineers at the "firm", they told me that there is a concern with oil usage under the first 5,000 k/m. After that it all settles down to virtually nil My experiance has been that from 0 to 3000 I used 2 liters of oil, I thought "what the....." but it seemed to settle down that I only needed .5 ltre between 3000 to 5000. I've now got 7000 on the clock and haven't needed a drop.
  18. Looks good.......
  19. The fine print on the oil cap sates a 40 w or 50 w as a min requirement. After talking to the dude at FoMoCo who scrutinizes the warranty claims from the dealers, beware, because if the oil dose not meet that spec there may be dissappointment He also said the engine lab guys who put the specs on the oil ratings are a very conservative group. :gandalf: For whats its worth I went for Mobile 1 5w50 after reading so much info, I tend to to think a fully synthetic "most brands are good" not saying mobile1 is the best. I wanted someting thin to splash up pretty quick on cold starts but would behave as a 50 weight on hot. The other thing I found was to price around on the 20L vs 5L. packaging. with Mobile 1 it was $65 for 5L against $200 for 20 L.
  20. From one silouette owner to another...looks great.
  21. Dosen't sound right to me..... why did the dealer reflash the ecu anyway as I don't belive it is part of the "normal" 3000 K courtesy inspection. I wonder if one of the sensors is a bit flakey.
