  1. Fair comment but just voting the red queen OUT will be enough. Nobody could possibly be any worse, except maybe Bob Brown.
  2. The woman is nothing but a hypocrite. She instantly labels the Qantas grounding as an 'overreaction' - bit of a different viewpoint than when she held the live cattle trade to ransom a few months back, just because she saw a bit of footage on a sensationalist news program on TV. :f*ckyou: Bring on the next election to restore my faith in the intelligence level of the voting public.
  3. 90 years - big deal. Does that automatically give it sentimental value? It has to run as a business it's not up to the workers to have a cry & demand whatever pay they want. If they drive prices up nobody will fly Qantas & you'll all be out of a job anyway. There's soldiers in the ADF dying in the middle east for less than some Qantas employees. There's also a lot of Aussies who work harder for less money. Judging by the amount of times the baggage handlers have lost my bags they are mostly brain dead anyway. What makes them think they have such a price on their head?
  4. There's no way the Qantas brand can survive if it can't compete. The international business has been running at a loss for ages. OK lets be real generous to the baggage handlers - pay them $1M a year. Qantas will go broke but no matter the revolution has succeeded. Uncle Che would be proud. I also did a Sydney/Los Angeles trip with Qantas a few weeks ago. It was business class on the A380 & the staff were rubbish. I've had better service on Singapore Airlines economy. The hostess talked/laughed out loud in the cabin all night while people were trying to sleep. Meal service was sloppy & they kept missing items. Quite a lot of people were pretty pissed off. Hardly what I'd call the best in the business more like scraping the bottom of the barrel. Not that I've got a lot of sympathy for the gay Irishman Alan Joyce. He's replaced the guy who I believe has gone over to Virgin Airlines & is now trying to run Qantas as a budget airline to be competitive. Virgin are managing to do the same but have obviously attracted better staff who can provide premium service for less money. Welcome Richard Branson. Lets see the unions try & put one over on him.
  5. There was an article on the front page of the West Australian newspaper a couple of months back. The unions were trying to negotiate a pay rise for forklift drivers up North at the mines because 'their wage was not enough for the cost of living'. They 'only' getting up to $190,000 a year. No doubt they all had taken out huge bank loans to get their degree in nuclear physics so they could drive a forklift? Why can't people be content to have a job instead of striking and whinging all the time? Try living in the USA with unemployment around 9% you'd be grateful to get a job at McDonald's. If Qantas workers are already getting paid more than their counterparts what's the problem? They can throw as many tantrums as they want but if they get their way they'll price themselves out the market & lose their jobs anyway. Meanwhile the 150kg hard working union bosses sit on their starfish & get rich. They don't give a stuff about the country or the workers they're only interested in their hip pocket. W@nkers all of em.
  6. Right on the button. If the Qantas workers want the shoulder of the Australian people to cry on they haven't got it. Apparently it's ruthless for the CEO to ground the aircraft but it's OK for the workers to repeatedly strike for the last few weeks & stuff up everyone's travel arrangements anyway.
  7. $20M a day to keep the planes grounded? If the staff won't work they can't run the aircraft. I'd like to see them keep that up & run a profitable business.
  8. If the Unions force Qantas to go broke what happens to job security then?
  9. It's not I was just calling BS on your claim that your political views have nothing to do what you're saying. If you love labor have the nuggets to admit it.
  10. I seriously doubt that based on your adoring posts in other sections for anything to do with the labor govt hacks Speaking of greed, what do the union bosses get paid. & for what??? Yes feathering their own nest & pretending to stand up for workers. They are nothing but a bunch of greedy f*cks who are no different to Hitler's brownshirt stormtroopers. They do nothing for the country. If they were let loose on Australia they would price us out of the market. Typical of when the idiotic portion of Australia decides to be different & vote labor. The unions run riot & start f'ing everything up.
  11. There's an article on Autospeed where Nizpro reckon they tested this on a car running 1:40's round Winton. It supposedly lost around 2 sec a lap with a BOV fitted. Apparently WRC cars don't have them for this reason? I have no BOV & get the tututut sound. Jeremy Clarkson defines it as 'like squirrels going through a blender'
  12. Happened to my ute ages ago. Tensioner bracket failed & the chain skipped a couple of teeth (taking a few chips off in the process). Never did any engine damage thankfully. It made it idle pretty lumpy though XFT fixed it all up with no dramas. Took a bit of time & $ but it's all good now.
