aviator replied to aviator's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
^^^At 1.2km long, it's too short for my liking. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 -
This Looks pretty awesome, about time NSW get's some more choice with Motorsport Park options, please support this if you can! Disclaimer: Not sure if this is in the right forum topic or if has been mentioned already (searched with no hits) Official press release: Drift. Race. Drive. Ride. Train. How does a multi-purpose motorsport park, an hour north of Sydney, sound to you? CASAR Park will feature a 3.5km Circuit, skidpan, go-kart track and more.(For scale, Wakefield Park is 2.2km in length, Eastern Creek full circuit is 4.5km) BUT IT NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT.Local Council, CAMS, State and Federal Politicians and Land Owners are all on board, all we need is to fund the Development Application (DA). The wheel's in motion, it just needs a push from everyone to keep it going. There will never be an opportunity to build something like this, so easily accessible to Newcastle and Sydney car enthusiasts, more affordable than the other options and wholly owned and run by the Community. Contribute as little as $30 towards the project and help get it past the final hurdle, if you're for cheaper, more accessible motorsport, how can you not?Share this with your friends, far and wide, get them on board and keep the wheel turning. The dreaded diff bush! Mine needed to be replaced after 20,000kms, I couldn't even tell there was a problem. Luckily it was under warranty still, the service manager said it was over $1000 to replace. Also, if it comes time to have the brakes replaced, try ferodo DS2500 pads all round, braided lines and dot 5 fluid. Matt from race brakes in Sydney can supply all that and ship to anywhere, should cost you under $1000 all up fitted, the performance and feel of the 4/1 brembos is amazing after that. Forget brake fade! Enjoy the new machine.

This is definitely my daily driver, I don't rack up huge kms every year, most of my driving is in the suburbs, so the FPV became a bit of an overkill, but a fantastic car for touring and freeway cruising. I thought the F6 felt pretty 'sharp' compared to others thanks to DS2500 pads, braided lines and koni+king springs, but the Megane feels totally alive compared to it. Steering is amazing, ride is firm but predictable and adjustable, brakes bite and are progressive, interior is minimalist but quality. Its all down to personal preference, and what you want in a car. I'm into track days and have never been a fan of drags, so the lack of straight line speed isn't an issue for me, 'cos this thing sheds corners, and really rewards the driver. Things that I've found harder to live with than the F6 so far: -space in the rear seats/no back doors -Recaro seats pretty snug when getting in/out, and long doors add to the challenge -rear vision is average Pros? -ride, steering, engine response(no lag!), Tech, seats, fuel economy. -proper track day car that needs no mods. If you want to feel 'connected' to a car, and corners are your thing, don't fear the step down from a big RWD saloon, you will love these. Saying that, I loved the F6 and this wasn't a decision taken lightly to change! Happy motoring guys! P.S Kinda wondered if I should have waited another month for the Opel Astra OPC?

After 2 years with the F6, the time came to sell up and downsize. After much research, I settled on a 2012 Megane RS265 Trophy. After a week it became obvious these things are a true weekend track day car, (more what I'm after) the way the car gets around and behaves though corners is unreal, FWD has come a long way in the last few years. Renault have packed a lot of technology in there aswell, the RS Monitor is pretty impressive, every temp and pressure seems to be covered, throttle mapping, G-meter, even real time tyre pressures are available which will be handy for the track. The lap timer will get some good use aswell. I enjoyed a fair few trackdays in the F6, some brake and suspension mods really made the car feel great. I will miss the grunt and sound of the 310, however the car wasn't really suited to my needs, but man I'm glad I got to own one for a few years!! Thanks to all the members here who provided a wealth of information for me pre and post purchase of the FPV, I look forward to seeing you on the track! Cheers.

Finally got the brakes done the other day, did the following: Ferodo DS2500 Pads front Ferodo DS Performance pads rear Braided lines all round AP Racing 5.1 fluid Machined all 4 rotors The pedal feel is improved greatly, it's got some real bite now. Bloody happy with the result. Cost just under $1000 for parts and labour. I will report back on brake fade at the track (Wakefield) once the new Invo tyres arrive for the rear. The old Dunlops are as good as useless after 19000kms.

Yea, this is where I'm getting the parts from, but they don't have a dedicated workshop. And It's miles away. Cheers, will do.

Hi guys, searched a few times but couldn't come up with anything definite.... Looking for a good workshop in East/Central Sydney to fit some braided lines, pads and machine the discs on the F6. New to the area, so any info would be helpful finding a reputable outfit. Cheers!

How To Make Turbo Side Pod/airbox Quieter?
aviator replied to nelsonian101's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
I'm having the same issue, just fitted the Rapid kit, tried some heat resistant heavy duty carpet/matting cut to fit on 3 sides of the box/tray, very minimal gains (or losses?) I love the MASSIVE boosting sound, but I like to be able to accelerate up a hill at a leisurely rate without people on foot looking back saying WTF??? -
Fg Replacement Intercooler Piping - Herrod Or Coolerworx?
aviator replied to TRA1NR's topic in Intercooler Workshop
I fitted the Coolerworx piping kit and the Rapid intake/batt relocation (FG F6), all fits fine. Talk about spooling noise, it's almost too much!! -
What day did you go? Besides your son's, how many cars were there? I've been a couple of times now during the week, and had the whole track to myself almost. Good to push the car, but I also enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Anyone know how busy it gets on weekends? Cheers.

I was there solo, so didn't have anyone to time me, and I didn't have a stopwatch in the cabin with me. It was more of a day to learn how to drive RWD properly, coming from FWD and AWD. Loved getting the tail out on the corners!!

Cool, thanks for the info, will keep that in mind. The car is only 18 months old, so coming up to its first brake fluid change I guess. Will Get this done at the same time I upgrade pads/lines etc...
