  1. HAHAHAHA nice , how much choppy chop are we talken about here LOL , I am a fan of P/W's products hey I have there plenum on my ute , I can get a rapid cooler brand new pretty cheap , so I thought it would be worth asking whats everyones opinions of the 3 most popular brands .
  2. Ok , just looking at getting some feedback on what people are using in the way of the bigger style intercoolers (500x400x90) people thoughts as in value for money performance , looks etc on the P/W stage 3 , Rapids core and Plazaman 1000hp core . im aiming at 360rwkw's any thing more is going to be a bonus. Thanks in advance.
  3. Nice one Rab .... I went with the same style silver plate black writing , my ute is lightning strike as well (silver) and the silver the plate comes in is almost bang on the same colour ! grats on the 50th to mate , they are smicko .... I work for a Ford/FPV dealership and was super stoked to see the attention to detail they have put into the limited edition 50th's ! enjoy mate haha
  4. See em all the time mate , I personally think it looks good , but im sure you'll get some haters that say they don't like it , but mehhh F em hey lol. I just ordered new plates for my ute , I went with the slim on the front and standard size on the rear but I have a ute and think it would look better for my application what did you get ?? I'm pretty chuffed with what I came up with XR-F18 will suit my car well .
  5. So what about the BF series 1. My ute's build date is 11/05,so are the Rods in my donk the same as whats in the BA ?? or are they the upgraded version ?
  6. Yup Yup very true Mate .... my bad ! .... even still the rattle noise isnt even that bad !
  7. HAHAHAHAHA somethings gotta give when trying to launch a car at 3000rpm with the traction control on !!! LMAO if you try and slip/ride any clutch and its going to stuff it ! ask Mal Woods himself he will tell you either dump it or dont bother ! though when I got my XR6T ute .... the first launch I tried was with the traction control on and I thought "Fark my clutch is fried" hahahaha until my mate pointed out I had the traction control on ahhh well ya live and learn !
  8. Hey mate , I work For a Ford/Fpv dealership , and like all the other guys have said on here it all comes down to what you want to do , The 6 speed ZF is tuff as nails and is perfect if you want to do a mild tune and go out and toast all those junker hsv's at the local street meet on the weekends , but if your looking to go out and be a bit of a tokyo drift king well the manual would be the bext choice for you and all the rattle noises people speak of on these forums is just rollover noise in the gearbox which is a characteristic of the gearbox but Ford are looking into ways to quiet it down. myself personaly im taking my T56 6 speed out and going for a built C4 auto box with a high rpm stall convertor as im more into drag racing and as everyone has said the auto is better suited for that application. though im sure clicking it back a gear with the c4 in my ute will still be quiet a hairy ride haha .either way your buying a RAD car bro ! Enjoy
  9. Hey all , I recently raced my ute at a street meet ... my ute is currently running around 320rwkw's its a 6 spd man cushion button clutch. raced it in street trim on my 20's just to see how she went and managed a 13.5 @ 110mph with massive amounts of wheel spin 1st and 2nd ... anyways there was another ute out there running 265rwkw's running the BA 4spd auto box and a 3grand stally and he was running 12.5's @ 100mph .... anyways I figure my ute even though more powerful was slower as auto's are more drag strip friendly and racing on my 20's wouldnt have helped either I know . so I have decided to go with a C4 conversion and 3 grand converter to chase a better time. my question is what kinda money would I be looking at getting for my 6spd box ??? my ute has on 40,000klms on it at the moment and the box is in great Nik ... any ideas would be appreciated cheers
  10. Yep yep .... yer the plazmaman set up does look the goods and from what ive heard most plazmaman stuff if made really well and works just as good ! where do you recommend looking for second hand stuff ebay has jack all and what they do have is mainly crap ! I would be stoked if I could pick up a PM plenum for 8 hundgie !!! what bargain mate cheers for the feedback
  11. Hey Guys , looking at purchasing a new plenum for the ute , I currently have the plazaman stage 3 kit which see both pipes basically take the same route as the standard set only alot larger etc and the larger cooler. got some good power at the rears at the moment (350rwkw) but keen for a touch more and I think the upgraded plenum and different IC piping along with a bigger cooler with an updated tune will bump this up to where I want to be , thing is there are a few plenums out there process west, plazaman, nizpro radjab etc they all look pretty sweet (well except the radjab) , just wanted to get a bit of feedback as to what people are using, what they recommend etc , I figure if there is anyone I should ask it should be you guys all feedback will be greatly appreciated
  12. so it should light up with the cobalt blue backlight ?
  13. Hey all , Quick question , I recently purchased a twin gauge pod that came with cobalt series boost and air fuel ration gauge , I have since learned that the AFR gauge is pretty much useless as they arent that accurate , either way I really only wanted a boost gauge but I when wiring it all up I have found the boost gauge is perfect lights up blue and is accurate but the AFR gauge does not light up blue only the little indicator lights up green ??? , I guess im asking should the gauge itself have a blue backlight ?? Cheers
  14. Hey all , quick question ,I want to give my ute a run at the next test and tune night at the drags ... one of the lads I work with reckons that's I will loose atleast a second if I run it with my 20's on the car ... I knew it may have a bigger rolling diameter then a standard rim but didnt think it would make a huge difference ...any ideas ?? Cheers
  15. Hi all , just wondering what oils you guys are using when servicing your XR6T's I work in the service department at a ford dealership and everyone here really rates Castrol Edge, may have something to do with our dealership having a contract with castrol to use there products not sure lol , but I have a mate that raves on about this oil caqlled Royal Purple , I have read up about it and farkkk me seems like this stuff is the sh*t !!! , but when pricing it even at my price through work $106 gino's per 5litres and only comes in 5ltr bottles so you have to buy 2 and the engine only takes 6.5 ltrrs .... anyways do you guys have abny thoughts as to what you recommend ?? cheers
  16. nah mate all good didnt take it that way .... I agree with ya after reading up on a few forums you would think with the mods I have it would have a bit more RwKw. guess ill have to start putting some cash away to have in dyno'd and have the local guru check out the tune and see what he thinks. and yer I defo let the car idle for a minute or so before shutting it off. Thanks heaps for the advise mate its all appreciated
  17. hmmm yer ive read a few posts where people have fewer mods and more kw , I hooked up a boost gauge on the weekend, the guy I bought it from was saying it ran 17psi but the gauge is reading 15-16psi so yer not to sure on that one .... like I previously said im happy with it the way it is at the moment but will defo be taking it in to have a squizz at the tune what can be done to give it some more grunt when I have some more cash , im getting married in August so that's chewing up a fair bit of our funds at the moment but once that's done , gonna look at getting a plazaman plenum and a few other things to spice the uterus up a bit more but yer im super happy with it at the moment there isnt much on the streets that's come near these things when they have a few mods best bang for ya buck I reckon thanks for you input into the topic though mate
  18. yer but saying that I I didnt really go out to buy someting that was stupidly fast I wanted something that was tidy with low k's and a good price , it just so happens that this one met all that criteria and some with the mods done to it, it only has 38 thou on the clock came with the 20's hardcover and front bar and the car is in prestine condition so all in all im pretty happy with the package for 26k .... my real main concern was the amount of boost it was running. but seems to be 80% saying it should be ok , its not like im strapping it around hitting 17 psi every gear change
  19. yer ill scan one to my email and post it up ..... so you guys think I should be getting more from this with these tunes ?? .... I thought it was pretty good to be honest ... but being that ive only had the car a couple weeks I guess im not to sure on what to expect ... but yer like I said ill defo be taking it to the local xr6t guru when I get some extra money ....just to see what they think about the tuning of the vehicle !
  20. awww k then sweet as , im also led to believe that the BF's have a different bottom end to the BA's ?? any truth to this a friend that's a mechanic at ford said they have the stronger bottom end from the BA typhhon/tornado ....
  21. Awww yer sweet as .... yer it was tuned by a pretty reputable tuner ... as for thrashing it I'm pretty good when it comes to self control on the streets .... but I do plan to give it a run at the drags when the next test and tune night is on so will defo make sure its got more than 1/4 tank in it as it doesn't have a surge tank as yet. as for it pinging I haven't heard it ping as yet but yer for sure will back straight off if it does . when I get a bit more spare cash I plan to get it looked over buy the local fella here that's is the XR6T guru when it comes to tuning, but after forking out 26k for the car it may be a little while LOL Thanks for the very useful Info mate appreciate it
  22. Hey all , Im another newb here in the forums , I recently purchased a 06 BF XR6T ute , its got a few things done to it its got nizpro valve springs, underdrive pulley kit, plazmaman stage 3 intercooler piping and front mount intercooler, SS induction kit Plazmaman larger alloy radiator 60lb bosch injectors larger waste gate flap and stage 3 full APS stainless exhaust 3.5 inch from turbo back splitting into twins 2.5's over to the rear. now my question is its got a capa flash tuner with it that has 4 different tunes 1st being standard, 2nd is a valet tune with cuts out at 3ooo rpm so they cant rape ya car, 3rd is a 10psi tune which is what im driving it round on now and 4th is a 17psi tune which when set to the car is a weapon .... note also the car has also been tuned to run 98 ron fuel .... ive got dyno sheets for 320kw at the tyres on the 4th tune which is what I think plenty to have fun on so anyways I want to know is 17psi to much to run on my engine being that its still running stock internals bottom end wise ?? any answers would be great ! thanks
