the problem was a blocked fuel filter! as soon as I changed the fuel filter the thing changed perfectly!! was the best 15bucks ever spent the reccomended change was at 90k and I had done the oil service myself and was at 95kms the fuel filter was blocked

The clips you were talking about we're missing in my car maybe that's why they got knocked. I pushed both seats all the way back and pulled and pushed all the wires just to look for something that is loose. Didn't find anything loose, so thought I didn't fix the problem, but this morning when I went for a drive the airbag light is no longer on...

hey thanks guys... had a look under the seats last night and nothing seems loose to access these yellow plugs do I need to take the seat out of the car? bionic you said to remove the seat base outer trim? how do I do this? thanks for the help! and good to know its not from the holes

Wondering if anyone could help, wont have time till next week to get down to a workshop due to work. Installed a new growler intake and drilled 2 holes for the mounts right at the front of the unit as specified in instructions. 2 days later after a long drive while sitting in the car letting it idle the airbag light showed up. Took battery off to let the computer reset. When restarted car the airbag light did a sequence of approximatley 10 flashes in different series of 1's and 2's Light is still on Are there any common faults to check before taking it in? Could the drilling, of two small holes in the lip in front of the air intake for growler mounts effect the airbags? Car is a bf2 xrt - have never had any airbag lights come on or any physical damage in the period I have owned the car. any help would be great!

Ratter- did you mean light on or right on? If light how far off am I roughly? I got the prices from the forum/eBay And in regards to the monza... Is it a benefit over a typhoon or factory cooler? And what would be the cheapest "adequate" branded cooler. Not the quote as I know workshops don't like quoting on forums. But the budget brand that's acceptable? If it is possible could you pm me a rough quote from where I am? That would be absolutely great if so. Thanks, Nathan -

Sweet mate I forgot its a public holiday. Could you or anyone else advise the best way to get the most power. I have Growler air intake kit 42lb injectors (need to install$$) Monza cooler Ontop of that I have between 1500-1800 max to spend on mods I was thinking Vcm tune I've heard around 800 Fuel pump 250 Injectors installed 50 High flow cat 300 installed at local exhaust place Actuator 200 Wastegate flapper? What am I missing? -

I know people don't like to talk about workshop prices... So I will phrase it differently.. I know pitland springy performance etc charge roughly 1500 for sct and tune? What kind of money are the tuners listed *roughly* charging for vcm tune. Everyone says Monzas are sh*t... I'm happy with 300rwk would I be better investing the money somewhere else or leaving a stock cooler? I don't want to spend 5-600 on a cooler ! -

hey mate thanks for the reply? do you think you could tell me what tuner you used? and yeah that's the plan.. I just bought 42lb bosch injectors and a monza cooler for 200bucks... I already have a cai put in just need the cat and fuel pump which should be roughly 300 each? so for under 2000 I should be right for 300rwkw? unless im missing something.... what mods have you done to get the 385? -
Im looking to do the first round of mods on my bf2 not looking to spend much coin and have done a fair bit of research about the tune the xcal3 with tune is looking at roughly 1500$ and it seems vcm can be done for about 800$? the way I see it is, yes it may not be quite as good. but my rationale is that with the 700$ saving I can buy some 42lb injectors and a highflow cat or a gutted cat and a monza cooler or a better brand second hand cooler. The question im asking is, ive searched all over the internet... who in melbourne tunes xr6ts with vcm suite that are reasonably reliable? Also would the power levels achieved on a vcm compared to sct be substanitally different on a xr6t with just the basic mods; ie injectors, cat, typhoon intake, possibly fuel pump?

AJB- I once thought the same as you... ex cop cars are rubbish etc. however you need to open up your mind and not be so ignorant/simple and think of the benefits as well as the negatives benefits: -usually highly optioned eg side airbags(expensive factory) digital speedo(which is great) im not sure what else comes on them but mine has almost all the options -has been serviced regularly, log books, no log books doesnt matter it HAS been serviced -as soon as the car is damaged or needs some work done it is done -no owners that have run out of money due to financing a impulse buy that they cant afford, have ever owned the car and failed to do the required maintenance -The car may be a detectives car (mine was an undercover detective) I know this is not much better, but not all are regular use trashed chasers. -Also it is sometimes acknowledged that the police xrs put out more power, not due to the any special mods but just because they have been run in well and hard. -May possibly be cheaper Negatives: -May have been in a previous crash -May have possibly been trashed, driven over gutters etc -Not much choice of colour / must be auto -Sometimes the interior is badly worn Theres absolutely no way I regret my purchase of an ex cop car, haven't had one trouble with it yet goes super hard and looks great. To top it off I got it at a steal of a price!

The cooler and injectors are a gift that's why otherwise I would look at better How much power do you expect with these mods ? Think 300rwk is possible -
a mate has some bosch 42 lb injectors he bought off ebay he wants to get rid of I have a bf 07 xr6t and wanted to take it in for a tune are these injectors capable, or do I need to go bigger fyi car has 95000ks zf 6spd auto plans for the mods before tune are bpr airbox highflow cat 42lb injectors monza cooler as you can tell I am on a budget I am looking for as much power as I can with as little budget hence asking about the cheap injectors, however if im spending 1600 on a tune dont want to loose out by cheapskating a couple hundred on the injectors! cheers

sorry mate its a bf series 2 2007/11 build auto zf 6 speed ex cop car with digital speedo(when the fault codes up) never been tuned or modded (as far as I know) besides a pod filter 95000ks if you know what it could be. would be a great help! cheers -

FLY FPV thanks mate good to know, now I can stop worrying I will fry the ecu maybe they wont damage the parts but they damaged me! burnt the hell out of my hand haha Those ones you posted look great but would prefer to spend the money on getting it quicker then making the bay look flashier ! cheers -

its at about 95000ks just went in for a roady today and passed so im guessing bushes and control arms must be pretty good? the cars not registered so havent really taken it passed 100ks but the shudder is much less now! will get the rego done and see if its still as bad -
hey on the car I purchased the previous owner had put on the ebay dress up kit with chrome looking covers stuck on the ecu and fuse box covers. for those who dont know. this is an example http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Polished-Fuse-Box-Cover-FG-Typhoon-Cobra-XR6T-New-/140516121741?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20b769dc8d I personally am not the biggest fan however these are glued onto the original covers and I cant get them off. These covers get really hot like burning hot after a hard drive. Do you think its safe to leave these on ? or wiill the heat burn out my ecu or fuses or possibly both?

on my car it has the digital speedo fitted and where the digital speedo displays next to the total kms the car has travelled. it shows up SC 0 I disconnected the battery to reset the computer and after restarting it changed to P 0 with the 0 changing as it is the digital speedo however after driving for 10minute its gone back to SC and wont change does anyone know what this stands for? is it a fault code? I took the car to the mechanic to scan the computer, he said it showed a few codes but nothing to do with that.

im located in the s.e suburbs of melb reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery now it will change on wot from 1st to 2nd but 2nd to 3rd under wot it hits the limiter and sits there... it feels like the car is driving better though after reseting the box

took the car to workshop and the front wheels were buckled with one of them having a welded up crack in it. put back wheels on the front... the shaking is probably 50% now but is still there! taking it to the mechanic tommorow hopefully will find out what this annoying problem is -
Hey guys, Have a bf mk2 xrt auto Got 4x new tyres and alignment and balance 2 days ago After 80km the steering wheel shakes and gets worse with more speed Applying the brakes slightly makes the shaking much worse. I initially though brake discs , and then realized it shakes even not on the brakes Where should I look first? I'm taking the car back tommorow to rebalance at the tyre shop. What do you think it could be ?

Hey guys I have a bf2 xrt and the previous owner has fitted a k&n pod filter where the airbox originally sits. The airbox has been thrown out and all snorkels are also missing. The pod is secured so passed a rwc, however after doing research on here people's opinion are against pod filters that are unboxed. I'm not too worried about power gains, but is it safe to run with a pod filter with no box and no direct air intake? Is it worth the money to buy a standard airbox/typhoon box? Or will leaving it as is be fine? I'm more concerned about blowing the motor, rather than power levels. Thanks, Nathan

Thanks for the replies The battery is 1 day old so I'm guessing the ecu has already Been reset, should I disconnect it again? When I did it the car had just been filled up from empty(no fuel at all) and I'm to scared to try again as it sat on the limiter and then when I backed off the car made a massive bang coming from the rear end. I tried it twice and am too scared to try again. How do I check the diff gears? I'm sure it's the standard gearbox as it was originally a cop car and I know they are auto. I'm planning on servicing the auto when the next service is due (5000km) hopefully that will fix it The car changes gear perfectly through all gears if 0-90% throttle is used , just wot doesn't want to work

Hey guys thanks for the quick replys! The car isn't tuned as far as I know. It's stock with a kn pod filter and the car is x-police car, I'm unsure if the police have a different tune? By hit the limiter I mean, it hits the limiter and sits on the limiter, until you release the accelarator, Like if I held the accelerator down, it would stay in gear.
