I applied for a mechanical apprenticeship last week. Today I get a call from the employer, this how it went down Employer: Hello is Jack there? Me: Speaking Employer: This is (Can't remember his name) from ******* auto service. I would just like to know if you are still available to be employed? Me: yes I am still looking for work Employer: Good, are you able to come in for a work trial at 7:30-12pm tomorrow? Me: Yes (Fast Forward to the end of the call) Employer: So tell me about yourself Me:Blah Blah Blah Still on my learners Employer: Well I look forward to meeting you tomorrow Me: Ok then see you tomorrow, Bye About 10 minutes go by then I get another call from the employer Employer: Hello is this Jack Me: Yes Employer: I'm sorry Jack but I have to cancel the work trial because you are still on your learners. Me: Why? Most workshop owners don't have the insurance to allow apprentices to drive customers cars. Employer: Well I'm sorry but I'm afraid I can't hire someone without a license. Me: Ok then, bye This guy is a pro at smashing peoples hopes into the ground
