  1. Hi Ralph, would there be a chance you may ask the person who has made these if he can make or has made a set for BA/BF - E series? Cheers Leigh
  2. Thanks. Sah Helpful
  3. Simplex timing chain*
  4. Hi all, I've been doing a bit of reading around and can't find anything aftermarket or stronger than factory VCT cam gears. I Have stage 4 atomic cams, simple timing chain and vernier adjustable cam gears which lock the cams together, cars currently making 523rwkw. Anybody have any experience to share regarding staying locked or using vct? And is there any other options for cam gears besides factory vct sprockets? Cheers for any help Leigh
  5. Cheers mate yeah having a ball so far! Yeah we were looking at the way they're tensioned as well, not convinced they are the greatest thing to be honest but they're on there now, if it happens again I'll look at changing them to something else because its not the best thing for the motor.
  6. Been a little while so thought I'd update again, the car made its way back to BYE after a bit of a break to figure out what the issue was at the drags, turns out the intake vernier cam shaft gear had slipped out of where it was set, causing a crank and cam trigger issue at high rpm under full load, the result being a loss of 40rwhp and not being able to rev over 5000rpm without serious power loss and popping and farting. Luckily for me it wasn't a really big issue and was quite easily put back in place and re-tensioned. The only cause for it that I can think of is the shock on the valvetrain from all the limiter action it see's in the lower gears has made it slip slightly over time to the point where it actually started to affect the tune. Also had an ECU upgrade, Link have released a new Link G4+ Xtreme, its basically the same as the G4 Xtreme but with a few new features including dual CAN ports and some other nifty things to help fine tune things, and Justin put it up on the dyno for another touch up tune making basically the same power as it had at powercruise, 663rwhp on 1 psi less boost, the car made a touch more torque and seems to be a little more responsive now too. A couple weeks went on and it was time to get ready for summernats, so I packed the car up and off it went with WONAGO, STEALTH, 1FATRAT, BRUTEUTE and BLWNWGN on the transporter. I had a pretty good time over there, entered a few events and missed out on a few as I was too busy watching skids and havin a laugh. Figured as a last minute thing I would enter the dyno competition over there just for a laugh and ended up actually coming 4th in the 6 cyl class overall, so I was pretty stoked about that. Also managed to crack the 700rwhp mark on the mainline summernats dyno, which was run by Mainline themselves. I was so stoked at this achievement! Here's a couple things for now, I still have to take stuff off my go pro and upload them to youtube. 702rwhp/523rwkw Dyno Run Skid Vid On the truck
  7. Hahaha yeah as Steve said I got to ask him how it all went afterward myself, was gold he didnt realise I was the driver of the ED. The owner is a good bloke but I've heard through the grapevine from people who actually associate with him that he was quite embarrassed about being beaten by an ED and a few other cars at racewars that his car went over to the East Coast for a twin turbo setup! So I dont think I'll ever beat that car again hahaha. If those rumours are true, but you know how rumours are in the car scene!
  8. Hahaha, yeah I was stoked to get an ED in street machine for sure, and yeah its in Perth Street Car magazine for a feature in November/December which is also the Powercruise edition. Lol Yeah Bogan in and old falcon was what the lambo driver called me after I beat him haha. Cheers.
  9. Hahaha CT110 ftw indeed. Good write up man, so good to hear this thing is finally tuned and sorted after all the bullsh*t that happened during the lead up. To be honest ya held ya cool really well I would of been losing my sh*t when all this was going down. Have to take me for a spin in it when I come over for summernats haha, will be gold.
  10. Thread mine, which spark plugs are you guys using for 450rwkw+ I was just using the NGK BKR6E's but have now changed to Ford Genuine Iridium plugs and gapped them to .60 with an M&W Ignitor and factory BA Coils. Any help would be appreciated
  11. Hey Simon im running an atomic motor with the cosworth pistons, the motor is relatively quiet at idle but does have some timing chain rattle which sucks. done 3000km and is running 498rwkw
  12. Me and Regy In car 11.24 @ 133mph 11.3 @ 127mph with 1.8 60ft Dunno what I ran here, that ute ran 10.5 though lol
  13. Took the car down to the drags last night on some ET Streets, despite having a bit of an issue with the car that needs to be figured out, managed to pedal an 11.24 @ 133mph with a 1.9 60ft. Best 60ft of the night was a 1.8 and best mph was 134.9
  14. Got more to come, just cant seem to get people to part with them haha Powerskid Catchup with a VH
  15. Lol few people told me I was mad but it came up all good after the skids, got all the rubber off the car and no scratches so win win. Didnt want tyres to be popping though haha no worries man
  16. Cheers fellas, going back down the drags tomorrow with some 275/40/17 ET streets to see if I can get better MPH and Times, despite some of the dramas pretty damn happy with the car, its a new combo at nearly 700rwhp so to have only minor dramas is pretty decent imo. Yeah cheers Steve I just happened to check my fuel pressure at the right time and it wasnt right, so was watching my AFR gauge when I got on boost and got off it as soon as I seen it start lean out
  17. Powercruise just happened! Had a pretty good time. Didn't come without dramas though. Friday I was on limiter down the main straight in the wet and noticed coolant burning smell and temps were rising, so pulled back into the pits to find a welsch plug had fallen out of the back of the block in the bellhousing. Raced to repco got another one and spent all of friday night replacing it, then with no sleep flogged it all day saturday with no dramas. Sunday morning saw a fuel blockage, luckily for me I clued onto it pretty quick and Justin from BYE kept the tune really safe so the motor was left intact. Turned out my 10 micron filter after the pump was completely blocked. So ran no filter after the pump and kept the 100 micron filter between the tank and the pump in there. Then in the last cruise session kept popping a cooler pipe at full boost. Had a massive load of help from a lot of epic people over the weekend who helped me get it back on the road so I could hand out chop chop. Then last night went in for a dyno session to make sure everything was sweet still and setup 2 step, replaced the 10 micron filter with another 10 micron in a bigger unit with more flow, put it back together but fuel pressure was low and was leaning out at just over idle. So pulled it apart again, checked 100 micron filter before the pump and that was heavily blocked, so cleaned that out, put it back together and I kinked a braided line which caused a blockage, and as a result of the pump being under so much stress from so many blockages, it decided to give way. Finally replaced that and the braided line and it worked all sweet but didnt get to do the retune! Anyway, enough of all that boring stuff here's a couple videos, haven't got all of them yet 10 sec GTR vs BADTAXI Skidpad
  18. Thanks guys, happy as with the car. Going back to the strip in a couple weeks with some 275 ET streets, will see what I can punch out then with a good launch. Here's the bootlid spoiler pics
  19. Got back from work and went on a little holiday to watch the F1 in Singapore, so haven't had a chance to update until now. Car was resprayed in Cobalt Blue but with Blue Crystal Pearl. Bonnet bulge put on, Red strip was turned to black, Fuel filler flap filled in and welded up, Antenna removed and hole filled up (listen to MP3's when im not listening to the engine and turbo lol), rear garnish was filled and colour coded, fixed up all the moldings and black plastics, new front glass, colour coded wing mirrors, and put a black strip on the end of the bootlid spoiler to match the side molding black stripe. Also took the car down the drags, on 245/45/17 Street tyres, had major traction issues with it but managed a 12.2 @ 129MPH and a 12.3 @ 129MPH so its got plenty more left in it. I just need moar skill and moar rubber.
  20. Cheers Steve, yeah cant wait til its painted and ready for Powercruise , seems my math is retarded, 668rwhp = 498rwkw, so just shy of 500rwkw. Yeah Wilwood have a few different types of caliper, these are the Dynalite series which are like you say a slim line design but have the same clamping force as the bigger ones, just designed for compact situations. IMO Anything over 18" looks crap on box cars so wanted to keep the option of using factory wheels, as well as being easier to find drag fronts in 17" rather than 18 or 19"..
  21. Have good news and bad news for this update, I'll start with the good news Took the car back into BYE Performance not too long ago to have some more things done and a Re-Tune. Its getting launch control set up and fuel sender hooked up so I don't have to look in the cell for fuel level anymore and hooked up to the AIM Dash. Also had my 6 Piston Wilwoods fitted and new brake lines as well as a new Turbo Smart boost solenoid, the l67 one that I was using wasn't holding boost up top. It made 668rwhp/491rwkw and 1332rwNm at 27-28 PSI this time around, comes on boost a little bit earlier and harder, and holds higher torque earlier and longer as well. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet as I had to fly back to work before it was tuned so can't wait haha. We're finding the limits of the rear housing on this turbo now, but am reluctant to go bigger at this time because I love how responsive it is, I also havent even had a chance to take it down the 1/4 yet and im getting very itchy feet about that haha. I think there is a bit more power in it with a few changes like the intake and intercooler set up and a pod filter shroud to block it off from bay temps. Brakes fitted now as well just need to do an alignment before I go anywhere too far as the new uprights have given me a little bit of toe out, also have fitted the AU upper arms with the adaptors from Rollin' cant wait to test this out properly . Now for the bad news.. Unfortunately as much as ive been careful to try and not wreck the car or damage it by driving outside my limits, you just can't account for other people and while I was home last time had a VE SS get reversed off a tow truck into the back of my car. The incident broke my rear bumper off on one side and dented the LH rear panel at the back under the tail light and pushed the panel in a little out of line with the boot, and took a bit of paint off on the boot lid spoiler and underneath on the bootlid itself, luckily though the bootlid spoiler seems to have bounced back into shape and my tow bar deflected a lot of the impact as well thankfully. The VE got it worse than I did though The tow truck company agreed for me to get a quote and would pay for the damage caused but I figured there wasn't much point in trying to match the back end to the rest of the car, so decided to just go for it and respray the entire car in the same paint as the engine bay. The tow truck companies insurance has agreed to give me the money up to the cost of the quote for repairs and that's being put toward the respray as well. I'm Doing a few body modifications as well to tidy it up. Filling in the aerial hole on the LHF quarter and changing the front door handles to rear ones to remove the key barrel in the door which has had a break in attempt on both sides and both are busted anyway and look sh*t. Filling in the fuel filler flap as I have the cell in the boot now and dont use it Car getting prepped Also have this to go on as well, Metal BA-BF bulge grafted onto an EB bonnet
  22. YES, love it. FR's suit so many cars they arent just for old muscle cars and such.
  23. I'll be there next year as well hope to crack the 270km/h mark in BADTAXI, only came up with 620rwhp for this one and was getting 250ish on the 800m runs. Was an epic weekend and will be attending every one
  24. Hi all just after a bit of advice for a mate who is looking to buy 2011 FG F6 Manual. He had an inspection done on the vehicle and has had 18000km put on it. But the report came back with leaking extension housing. Is this normal wear and tear or would this be signs of a car not well looked after? Should he be steering clear of it?? Cheers for any help
  25. Nice work man that auto be sucking up lots of power but it translates in your MPH keep up the good work
