  1. Good point. Check the mounting also. Looks like these plastic clips come off easily. I better keep a metal coat hanger wire handy in the boot just in case this remaining clip falls off between now and the next service.
  2. I found alot of rubber shavings at the front of the engine around the pulleys etc. I inspected the belt and found a thin layer of rubber on top of the belt was missing! On closer inspection, sure enough the metal pipe just on top of the belt (to the left of the engine) was touching it and hence shaving the belt. Luckily there happened to be a clip (to pull the metal pipe away from the belt) but somehow was at positioned far away to the right which allowed the metal pipe to sag down and touch the belt. So I moved the clip to the left and problem fixed! Here is a pic of the problem and fix. Hope it helps.
  3. At least the temp gauge is fixed. Good luck with the fuel gauge. My car has the same problems!
  4. Never got charged for loaner cars while my car was in service. There is usually a $2000 excess!!!
  5. The car can be a handful in the dry! So decent shoes are a must. I've never heard of Traxxions tyres. Is it another Chinese tyre brand like Wan Li? If so steer clear...
  6. Sounds like that manager has got another job lined up elsewhere! Try another dealer.
  7. I thought about the black one as well. But I went with white purely because of safety. I lost counts how many times people were trying to t-bone me in my previous black cars in roundabouts at night!
  8. Thanks Mack. Actually the Honda Euro, Liberty GT and Mazda6 were quite good drives. But luckily I drove the G6ET last and there was no contest after that!
  9. I've seen so many cops on the road recently. With the turbo constantly whistling in my ears it, I reckon it won't be long before I get a speeding ticket. My last one was 18 years ago!!!
  10. Here some pics. Enjoy...
  11. Congrats mate. IMO, the G6ET is quite low as is. Anymore you'll have problems clearing kerbs, parking logs, speed humps etc.
  12. Pics coming soon gang... After I give it a proper clean and when I can stop driving it! Truly an awesome sedan and I've owned quite a few cars in my 4 decades walking this earth!
  13. My previous black BMW E90 325i 6-speed zf auto was approaching 80,000kms so it was time for an upgrade to something abit bigger to accomodate a growing 4-year old boy as well. I checked out quite a few other cars in the medium to large category; 5 series, e class, honda euro, mazda6, liberty gt, Late model camira Bogan special , calais v v8 and v6. They are all nice cars especially the german ones of course. But in my opinion (after 4000kms), the G6ET offers the best ride, handling, performance, looks, space, features and value in the current car market. And amazingly the fuel economy gauge displays "13.5"ltr/100kms! And that's in peak traffic around town and with a heavy right foot at times. To put it in perspective, my previous 325i with the 2.5 ltr inline 6 cyl engine (rated at 160 kw/250 nm) and the 6-speed zf auto was averaging "12.8"ltr/100kms under the same driving conditions but nowhere near the performance!
  14. Looks wise, I wouldn't put the new G6ET in the "grandpa" category but more in the "elegance" class. It has a tough stance as it's quite low already. The front airdam/bumper bar only JUST clear road kerbs/parking logs etc. So I wouldn't go any lower. Performance wise, it's just as ferocious if not more than an xr6t!
  15. ex-chasers are very good value for money. You need to check/inspect the car throughly though. I had a ex-cop vn v8 multiple decades back. Found out later that some of it's suspention components were actually bent! But I got so cheap and within my budget!
  16. My G6ET has similar problem. The "outside temp" as shown on the ICC is always about 3-4 degrees below the actual outside temp! I think it's measuring the "outside chill factor" rather than the actual outside temp. Just forked out $50k for the car so it's very annoying.
  17. Congrats. The G is definitely a sleeper with a monster punch!
