  11. who won?! who won?! just got back form my exam...yeah..it sucked..
  12. haha thanks...everyone seems to be heaps stressed out about it but I am rather calm...don't think that is a good sign because it leads me to not study..haha..But I've been told by many people that if I stuff up the hsc it isnt over..Lets hope my parents have the believe this..haha
  13. So that's probably what DaKing meant when he referred to when he said the reason for this was cultural heritage. My parents are all for Expensive Daewoo and ford cars but they drive a toyota? Maybe I should ask them why that is. haha. My dad has always told me stories and shown me pictures of when he first came over to australia, he was probably the same age as me when he came over and guess what, his first car was an black 351 xb coupe. Dont know what had happened along the way but he is now quite the toyota fan as well (might be his age showing?) haha. He has the same attitute towards imports as I do and he always wonders whats happened with the younger generation where they are willing to pour loads of cash into imported cars and not supporting the products made in the country in which we live. But still he drives a toyota? quite ironic lol.
  14. haha! I will be sitting my second last hsc exam..DAMMIT!
  15. farrrk!!...that's intense..imagaine the rush.. haha.. hope the dude was alright after that one
  16. I beleive that is the same as up in NSW. If you have a legitimate reason to why you are unable to drive any other car, than they are able to make an expection and let you drive the car. Same with if you had already purchased the car before the new policy came in, you are able to drive you car.
  17. I am glad I am not the only one to notice this, thought it might've just been in my head. haha. DaKing: I don't quite get what you mean when you say it is becuase of cultural heritage. Because I wouldn't think their would be cultural heritage involved in what car you drive? Or do you mean that Ford/Expensive Daewoo have a reputation as being more of an aussie car?
  18. james courtney.... isn't he an open wheel driver?..or am I getting him confused with someone else?
  19. This might be a stupid topic but here it goes anyway. Mods feel free to remove this thread if it is inapproriate/offensive in any way. I was just sitting there today and I thought about how I rarely see anyone with an asian background driving an xr6t,xr8 or any other australian built performance car. I was just wondering if there is anyone with an asian background on this forum who drives an xr6t. I am from a vietnamese background myself and I love my fords. I am always copping shi*t from my friends because I am not obsessed with any of those japanese import cars (skylines, 200sx,etc). But everytime I see an xr6t, xr8, phoon or GT I always have a good long look at them. I would gladly hand over my hard earned cash to buy an xr6t over a 200sx (BTW I am 18 and so I don't have a family or anything to think of). I just don't see the practicality behing buying such a small car when the xr6t can now be had for the same price as a 200sx second hand but is much more practical as it has more room and 4 doors. Please no-one take this in the wrong way as I am not trying to be racist in any way I am just interested in finding out why I rarely see any asian people driving these cars around. -michael
