Yeah there's no real difference in my opinion, I work for ford in spare parts and both side by side the earlier filter the afg55mc seems like a better quality outer casing filter and seems better quality. We got in stock thinking they may have been different for the FG's as they were a different part number but they were just seemed a bit dodgier in my opinion so we still give out the afg55's for fg's. hope this has shed some light

Bit of a late reply but on my BA I had the same problem with a white substance on my a/c pump and alternator and down the front on the hot side piping underneath the alternator and worked out it was the little joiner hoses to the turbo water lines on the feed and return lines, replaced them and no more leaks. Pretty sure the BA, BF and FG all have a similar setup.

Well I recently just got my front and rear bars done and to do the lot and have the front bar repaired was $600 and it was from one of the reputable panel shops where I live not some back yard shonky fella. Although I was quoted $400 per bar when it came to paying I just paid cash and it was $600 for the lot which I thought was good.
  4. hey, was just wondering if anybody has used or heard anything bout using Fuchs SuperSyn 5w40? I have used fuchs in my previous car which I never had an issue but just wondering if anybody else has given it a go?

  6. yeah only paid $670 and outa that I got the full tune, a new set of ngk iridium plugs and a coil had shat itself so that's not bad I thought and 100hp
  7. Well I got the car back this arvo and came back with 381.4hp, bit more of an increase on the previous 288, couldnt fault the service at RDP I would recommend them to anyone done an awesome job and car drives a heck load better.
  8. yeah, well it does have the upgraded ICC like with dual climate and such but yeah I might just get them to check it out when I take it in for the rear brake hose recall.
  9. its only the main center bush, there hasn't been any changes to the side ones that I know of yet or that the ford program has told me...

  11. yeah well from now on I think anything I do will be having a custom tune after it, cant risk it having such a pricey and good car to just leave it to chance. When it gets back from the tune ill post up how it goes but yeah anythings an improvement on 288 although im not sure how true the dyno was seeing as though my mates car made 425 a couple months back at elite and only pulled 380 on the same dyno the other day so yeah lol its a dyno dynamics one but it is the local diesel tuning shop

Just thought id throw a hey out there as ive just bought an xr6t and live around the northern sunshine coast area and on the odd weekend I make the trip for a cruise around the main spots round the coast. Would also be keen for cruises and stuff when they come up and so would a mate who bought turbo.vixens old BA :hiwelcome:
  13. Ended up making some calls and its booked in now at RDP just cause its much easier for me to get to so we'll see if we can get a bit more than 288hp out of it lol
  14. yeah I will be, ill get a tune for whats been done so far then after christmas im looking at gettin a full exhaust, valve springs, bigger injectors, get the bigger actuator and wastegate ported as well and then gettin another tune. Any other suggestions for what I could do before I gota start looking at the bottom end lol
  15. well I've only just bought the car and it had all this stuff done to it, im just trying to iron out all the creases with it and possible problems that may be an issue in the long run but yeah ill be gettin it in for a tune asap and it doesnt really bother me as I cant legally drive it for another month or so but I have been anyway just to see what its doin
  16. no they didn't log anything the dodgy so n so's, it was even wheel spinning cause I could smell rubber the whole time and they couldn't be arsed to strap it down cause I was one of the last to go on the day but yeah ill be giving elite auto a ring tomorrow cause by what yous have said and I've read in other posts it could end up being a bit more of an expense to just let it go so ill be gettin on to that tomorrow. thanks for the quick responses guys, much appreciated and as im only new to xr6ts and still learning lol Cheers, Matt.
  17. yeah that's what I thought, after doin a lot of research on here I thought it should have been a bit higher figure than that and yeah I sorta figured I need a tune, im going to get a couple more upgrades done at the same time so would it be safe driving it on the 8 psi tune for now until around after christmas or would yous suggest just gettin a basic tune for now to make sure its safe then waiting for the other mods? cheers, Matt.

On the weekend I put my xr6t in a dyno comp just to see what it made as I didnt have a figure yet, it made 288rwhp and all that's been done to it is bosch 42lb green top injectors , a rapid v2.0 intercooler, under battery cold air intake, the center muffler removed, walbro gss342 intanke pump and an xcal3 with generic tunes and it was on the 10psi tune for the run. To the point though, when it finished the run and was on back off it was making real loud popping sounds out the exhaust? could this be possible pinging and also when its on the 10psi tune when ya give it some spirited driving in all the gears but first it seems to get this real bad surging going on when it comes on boost. Could anyone shed some light on this and is that an alright power figure for what ive got done or should I be expecting anymore or less? Cheers, Matt.
  19. yeah checked at work this morning and the new part number is as PHANTMXR6 said, 8R2Z4B425AA. Although the listing only states it as being for FG auto's from June 2010 onwards. Although when I checked it out further I didn't see any change to anything else to the diff so running that part number would be fine I'm thinking but early last year there was a supersession with the bush which was to BAF4B425SF and the style of the bush was changed (rubber wasn't so hard and sh1ty like) with the new one. That bush is listed though for manuals and autos from BF series 1 right through to FG's in June 2010 where the new part number takes over. Hope this has maybe cleared it up a little.
  20. just thought id throw this out but I work in parts at the ford dealer where I live and I might see what I can chase up tomorrow and see if I can find the part numbers for the bushes. Ill post back if I find anything out though.
  21. yeah I just wasnt sure cause my mate has the exact same model xr6t as me but he only has the standard XR ICC and it doesn't do it and thought it may have been something up with mine but it might be normal I was just seeing, thanks for the responses anyways.
  22. no it doesnt, and I havent modified the stereo system at all only thing it has that is different is it come from factory with the premium ICC with dual climate control and what not like the typhoons have.

Hey, was just wondering if anyone has any idea about this or has experienced it but when I put my car into reverse the rear speakers stop working but then once I take it out they work as per normal. Kind of weird as my mate has a T and doesnt have this issue. Just in case its an 05 BA mk2 with the t56 box. Cheers,

Thanks for the replies, I think I might just end up going the 60's and for needing a tune id be doing it when I get it tuned cause ill be getting a full exhaust, valve springs and what not at the same time and yeah it wont be for a little bit yet I'm just organising what ill need when that time comes so I can get all the bits and save for the tune.   25. hi all, ive recently bought an xr6t and it has had a few minor mods done and im looking to do a few more to reach the low to mid 300's and at the moment its running 42lb bosch injectors and I was wondering if would have to upgrade to 60lb ones to accommodate for this or would the 42lb ones handle that?
